ABSEG3 I quite agree with you!

Actually they scrapped crisis loans in April if u need urgent help u go to your local council who now give u vouchers for groceries etc & they simplified the budgeting loan form you do not even have to say what u want it for or how much u need they work out how much u can have by calculating if you can afford the repayments as it's paid back as its taken out of your benefits every month. I had £800 in April I've paid back £600 & I reapplied & received £600 this week as I still owe £200 from my April loan it's up to the individual what they spend it on.

pug609 · 17/09/2013 10:12

Oh & it takes 2 weeks to apply & after u accept the loan it takes 5 days to a week to go into your account after they've received your acceptance letter. I don't know why everybody's moaning I can't apply for a loan any other way if your not eligible go & talk to your bank instead!

StupidMistakes · 17/09/2013 10:13

Oow I just moved n now need a budgeting loan am I bad too (i was homeless n moved by an organization) budgeting loans are still via the job centre. Crisis loans and community care grants no longer exist but similar things are in place via your local council.

Hi, I've recently applied for a budgeting loan & on wedensday 9th I received a text informing me that they had received my application and that it can take up to 10 working days for them to make a decision. As it hasn't been 10 days yet do you think if I gave them a call they'd be able to help as all I need is a yes or no answer as to wether I'm eligble for it BlushHmm

tracya1966 · 17/10/2013 13:02

Why does it matter what this woman is doing with the money? She has to pay it back so it's not like she's getting it for free is she? Why don't people just butt out, answer the question she's asking. Her question didn't ask for anyone's opinion! Angry

Beautybox2 don't explain yourself to random people on here it's upto you what you got the loan for a holiday or not, not your fault people cannot afford to go on holiday!! Perfetic people being jealous, iv just applied and was wondering how long it would take to because iv just moved house and am due my baby boy in January but if I had money left over for my holiday which is paid for in March dead right it would be getting spent on holiday :)

midwifeandmum · 13/11/2013 11:45

My sister just applied for one last wednesday. I think the stigma attacted to them is terrible. I had to claim income support during my pregnancy 2 years ago as I wasnt entitled to maternity leave due to being on 'the bank' in my local hospital. I applied for a b.l that christmas and got £800 as i have 2 children. Its a great way to get a loan if the bank turn it down. Drug users who use b.l like an ATM give it a bad name. But i think its a great way for families in neef to get what they need. It certainly saved christmas for me that year. Then when i went back to work, i paid the full amount off. I would do it again in future.

I don't get why people are complaining. Barely nobody get's turned down and you have to pay it all back anyway, stop being ridiculous and ruining this discussion.

For the record and for anybody looking for a proper answer to this. You apply for said loan, you'll likely get a response within 7-10 days (You may actually get it within about 5 on some occasions). If you've been accepted, which on most occasions you will unless you already have debt with them or other issues, you then send off the form they ask you to sign, accepting their offer. After that you're likely looking at around 7-10 days again. It'll be longer getting the payment as it takes 3 working days for the payment to clear into your bank. After sending it back you're looking at about 2-3 days until somebody sees it and then another 2-3 until they process it. After that it's the usual 3 working days (so Saturday's and Sunday's don't count) until payment is there.

May i ask if any one had had one budget loan applied for a second and been approved?. I took out a budgeting loan in November for my bed. Only for my washing machine to break on 20 Dec so im desperately hoping they say yes to my application. I have only 220.00 left to pay back and applied for 300. Has any one been successful with this. Any help would be great thank you

lougle · 29/12/2013 17:02

"There is no IN NEED criteria...."

Yes there is Hmm you have to be receiving an income based benefit, that being Income based Income Support, Income based Job Seekers Allowance, Income based Employment Support Allowance, or Pension Credit.

Not 'anyone' can apply.

saybleme89 · 31/01/2014 15:12

Hello people, i sent in my application for Budgeting Loans the 22/01/2014
was wondering how long it will take to get a response. Thankyou! ??

danos75 · 04/02/2014 18:44

No you meatn what you said you got the loan for your JOLLY. Had you told them you were going on holiday in the same period you were asking for a loan you wouldn't of been accepted. You say you done nothing wrong but why else would you say in time for my JOLLY. Makes me sick go out and get a job instead of scavving of the government. theres people out there that need real help not jus a cushy break away.

PatrickStarisabadbellend · 04/02/2014 18:47

Scavving? Wow. What a lovely person you are!

This thread is well old. Did you purposely search out a thread just to try and start a row?

tealcette · 10/02/2014 13:28

saybleme89 I applied for a budgeting loan a couple of weeks ago. I've had the letter back to accept the amount to pay back. I posted it off around 7 days ago and I'm still waiting for the confirmation letter to tell me when it will be paid in to my account. It takes around 3 or 4 weeks from start to finish.

Snettyb · 06/03/2014 23:19

Wow, can't believe the amout of stuck up trolls on here! I dread to think how any of these posh snooty bitches would cope if their fella walked out on them and their 2 young kids leaving them with no choice but to claim benefits and god forbid one day need a disgusting budgeting loan. I'd like to point out a clue in the title. BUDGETing LOAN!! It's a loan (meaning it needs to be paid back ergo it's not a hand out persè) and budget as in something that doesn't normally fall into your weekly/fortnightly/monthly budget has arisen and you need assistence. Those who are not on 'scabby' benefits may apply to banks or other reputable landers in such circumstances, but as an unfortunate unemployed lesser person we are forced to apply for budgeting loans and in essence making ourselves appear more scabby and disgusting. I apologise for ........nothing, I just pity the small minded, stuck up, sad, deluded beings that assume they will never be in this position and frown upon those who are.

In reply to the person enquiring about getting another loan......if your first loan wasn't your maximum entitlement and/or you've paid some off, you can top up to what your maximum entitlement is. This is calculated as a new loan. So if you pay £10.50 a week on your existing loan, another loan will be a further £10.50 a week to pay x

sweetestkitty · 12/03/2014 13:48

I sent off an application for a budgeting loan by post yesterday (11/03/2014). What exactly is the process?

Smootchypoo · 12/03/2014 19:50

From phoning up to ask for the forms till the money going in my bank it took exactly 3 weeks. I rang on a Wednesday and received the forms on the Saturday and posted them the same day. I received the offer of a loan 10 days later and sent the acceptance the same day (Tuesday) and the money was in my bank the following Wednesday. Hope this helps.

IvorSmallFaucet · 15/03/2014 23:23

I asked for 1000 to get me (move, transport, living expenses, 350 advance rent - until I get my wages etc.) to the part of the country my new job starts.
I was offered 348 (which I had to accept) - repayment is 8.50 per week.
Question: how soon can I apply for another budget loan to help me finance the initial month of rent that I have to pay in order to take the job on ?? 348 will transport me to the South, keep me alive, warm and fed but I need to find 350 for the advance rent !
I dont have any previous budgeting loans. But I do need some help to get me to my new job and to survive until I get my first salary.
Ivor
