Had a bill from Npower for 6mths (long story as to why it is 6mths) and it was around £300 estimated. Have rung with meter readings and it is now nearly £600.

I'm in a 3 bed, end of terrace, gch, 1 adult and 3 kids.

Basically, i'll be paying £100 a month for gas and electric.

What's everyone else paying ??

Just switched today to First Utility. Monthly dual fuel direct debit is £108. With E.on it was £121.

IseeThreadPeople, great savings to be able to use off-peak electricity for washing machine. Do make sure though that you have plenty of smoke detectors installed and check the batteries frequently. Running appliances overnight increases risk, so you need to be sure you'd be woken up if the machine were to malfunction or overheat while you're asleep.

2 adults, 2 kids, SAHM with one dc at home during the day. 4 bed detached with extra loft insulation, no tumble dryer, a+ rated appliances but a fierce iPhone/iPad recharging habit. Approx £90 a month via Scottish Power.

YOu really don't want mine.
£200 electric

2 bed terrace, double glazing but gaps round front door plugged with paper due to shitty subsiding house (council rent, who say nooo the whole street is not subsiding!). Around £80 a month gas and elec together, and that's with using tumble dryer several times a week.

I try to pay £100 a month for both with aggressive chasing of Online Saver deals, this is for 4 bedroom house though.

MissKeithLemon I thought we did too (London zone 3) but on looking into it, the limitations seem to be on type of stove you can have installed and type of fuel you can use. It's not actually called a smokeless zone it's something like Smoke Control Zone.
