if we were to get tax credits would any one be able to tell us how much we could get as we used to get joint child/tax credits of 118.34 per week
now they have reduced them by 53.20 to 65.34 im at a loss of understanding these figures and why they have dropped so much and our income is vertually the same ? this whipes out one of our wages (no wonder some people dont want to work !!!

Have you renewed properly and on time? Check th einfo on your renewal form.... it may be wrong.

Well something has clearly changed at their end at least.

Call the TC office and ask why its been reduced. Doesn't sound right from what you have said. How many hours per week do you both work?

taxcredits.hmrc.gov.uk/Qualify/DIQHousehold.aspx

Put all your details in to this and you will get an accurate estimate of what you should be getting. Then you will be able to tell if a mistake has been made.

Unfortunately, from the info in your OP it sounds about right.

Hi there, we're moving this into money matters because we think you might get more of a response there.

Has Nina stopped going to childcare?

Tax credits are usually based on your income for the previous tax year. Did your income increase from 2009-2010 to 2010-11?
