OK, if I can get enough people interested, I'm starting another book club. As books and people seem to go missing too easily, this book club features no posting at all!

Here are the rules...

  1. One book per month chosen in turn by members. We all read the same book each month -- a week or two's notice will be given to get it from Amazon or the library. So your own fault if you don't take it back in time and get overdue fines!
  1. One thread per month discussing that book
  1. Books to be a maximum of 350 pages so no excuses for not finishing!
  1. No mis-lit and no chick-lit, otherwise any book from any genre is welcome!

If enough people sign up quickly then we will start in JULY but new folks can always join along the way.

Anyone with me?

Finished Bees last week. I had a mental list of books that I'd seen in Waterstones but my mind has just gone blank. The rest of Gailforce's list looks good.

Apologies everyone - having suggested this month's book i have to confess I have not started it yet. I had to go away unexpectedly for 2 weeks and forgot to take the book with me! I do hope everyone who has read it has enjoyed it and I look forward to reading your thoughts.

I have just finished Secret Life and really enjoyed it - although I did rush it a bit to catch up.

It seems to have been a bit quiet here - has anyone else finished yet and what are we reading next?

gailforce1 · 08/10/2010 19:34

Anyone out there? Or is this the end of Meg's book club?

seaturtle · 08/10/2010 20:39

I was wondering too, Gailforce. I really enjoyed it, though it reminded me of stuff I read when I was a teenager. In a nice way. It made me want to go and live with August and learn to keep bees.

MegBusset · 09/10/2010 23:02

Hello, I'm still here but didn't know if anyone else was! Shall we have a roll call to see who's still going?

Good idea Meg. I would love to continue. Did you get a chance to read Secret Life of Bees? I am going to start the David Nicolls
Starter for Ten as I cant be without a book on the go! Anyone care to join me? (chilled bottle of white open, glasses at the ready!!).

Can I join? Or is this now a defunct group!
