Hello!

Wondering if anyone fancied getting a new group off the ground, it looks like all others are full right now.

Let me know if you fancy it and once we've got a few members we can get a group and and running.

No I think we have a thread for each book - there's some examples of this further down - eg piebalds book - ab by xy

As each person reads it they comment.

At least I hope so or else I'll get thoroughly confused!

May I ask no heavy sci-fi either please?! I just can never get into anything that's so surreal it's unbelievable. Sorry for anyone that loves these kind of books. Better get deciding on possible books then eh :)

Can I join, if it's not too late? I read anything but the Child Called It type of books.

Oops - posted too soon!

I was thinking about sending 'The Crying Tree' by Nassem Rakha. Has anyone read this?

I'll be offline for a few days so could people keep bumping the thread or poking people on the list (just in case people are drowning in pimms and wine royal wedding fever) please? Grin

The book i was going to choose is Kindred by Octavia E. Butler. But i see it is described as Scince fiction. Now i would say i dont like that genre either but i LOVED this book, IN fact read it and then went straight back to the beginning. It is about time travel, going back to the time of slavery in the south of America. Try looking it up on Amazon and read the crits and see what you think.
Otherwise i might choose One thousand white women by Jim Fergus, have a look at that too
Trying to pick books that are not so run of the mill
Have read and really enjoyed The Crying Tree but could read it again

Oops sorry everyone - had a horrible few weeks so totally forgot about this! Bloody real life getting in the way of my MNetting! Will send out a PM to everyone again to check who still fancies it.

Galena of course you're welcome :)

Right - we need a name for our new group!

Most people wanted the FB group so I'm going to set that up so hopefully we can get in touch with one another easily, it's a bit dusty and forgotten here at the moment.

If you don't have FB then we can still use this thread so you won't be left out at all. The FB group will be secret so only those in the group can see it and join/post etc.

Please post here anyway so it keeps on our 'threads I'm on' tab

Thanks Grin
