Recurrent miscarriages- Professor Quenby

Hi ladies, I am currently going through my second miscarriage in 5 months (been ttc no2 for 12 months). My GP is making arrangements to refer me to Professor Quenby at Coventry Fertility Clinic. I just wondered if anyone had any experience with Professor Quenby, any idea what the wait time is like and if anyone has gone private with her (if that’s even an option).
Appreciate any tips and advice in advance to me seeing/speaking to her. X

@FfayeN I have recently completed the trial and also have autoimmune hypothyroidism. I would make sure you ask when you go for them to test NK cells. I had mine tested and they came back normal. Although there was a delay as the machine they used for testing them was broken therefore I think it’s been causing them a lot of hassle, even so though that shouldn’t be a reason not to test them. I did test positive for endometritis therefore had either placebo or doxy and 2nd biopsy but to be honest I’ve heard of people buying doxy afterwards online if they have tested positive which I think I’m going to do as I suspect I might have had the placebo.

@Brightstar29 thank you! I will ask about testing for sure. Would there be any side affects if you took them and you had in fact had the doxy on the trial? I also wondered is it a case of just taking them once, how long would that last in preventing or resolving the endomitritus? It's all a hope and prayer isn't it. I have debated not doing the trial and going private but will see what they say about NK testing, she seemed pretty adamant steroids weren't the answer for the hypo x

Hi, looking for some advice… What would you do?!

I was diagnosed with really high killer cells from my first biopsy with Prof Quenby at Coventry, but my second result came back totally normal. I did take a course of doxycycline in between the two biopsies as I was shown to have endometritis. I was told I wouldn’t need prednisolone in my next pregnancy.

I then went to Athens for a hysteroscopy which showed up inflammation and some scarring. I also took three different antibiotics to clear an infection found from their microbiome test via biopsy. I also had the blood test done for NK cells to check again, which came back normal.

Fast forward one month and I am pregnant. Which in itself feels like a miracle.

I’m on cyclogest and baby aspirin 150mg. I already have prednisolone which I purchased in Athens just incase - and I’m really in two minds about whether to start taking it as well, even though my NK cells are seemingly not an issue now. Main reasons being, the inflammation that was still visible, and also the nature of my losses - both missed miscarriages.

Any advice? I think the normal dose is 20mg for first trimester. I’m terrified to take them and terrified to not!!

TIA x
