An introduction to this thread. It has been running for many years and has proved a saviour for so many of us who have suffered recurrent miscarriages as we go through this incredibly tough journey.

Discussions cover immune issues, NK (natural killer) cells, thyroid issues, PGS and many many more.

KtAgs · 10/07/2020 11:13

Oh so sorry @sophfr17. That really sucks. I totally hear the about the 'feeling' as well. I've had them every time as well. I wish things were different lovely. Take care of yourself

Jorun · 10/07/2020 11:42

@Sophfr17, really sorry, it is totally unfair... Hugs.

I've started meds in preparation for frozen embryo cycle. Finally!! Had to create an excel spreadsheet for all the meds I have to take (lots of alternate day things and also alternate day different doses, increasing doses, etc). It took me two hours :( oestrogen is defo making me feel a tad nauseous.

Booked first intralipids next week. Any recommendations of what to do/see in/around Epsom? Good place to eat? We're driving down Friday and staying over night. I'm very excited about seeing the gold knocker Grin

VenusStarr · 10/07/2020 14:21

I'm very sorry to see this @Sophfr17 ❤️

Sophfr17 · 10/07/2020 14:26

Thank you for your support.
I finally managed to reach the Doc, who confirmed the probable chemical pregnancy.
It's fucking hard, i think i will never be a mum.
xx

Has anyone had Sperm DNA Fragmentation done? I’m wondering if we should do it before we try again. Husband has previously had 0% morphology. We always get pregnant easily but have had one live child and then 6 miscarriages. I’m on the Shehata complex programme.

Wishing5tar · 13/07/2020 17:58

@NICK7nick7 Dr S usually offers the DNA fragmentation test as part of the preliminary work up when signing up at the clinic. I’m sure if you request it he’d be happy to do it or explain why, if not ☺️ My husband had it done and the results came back relatively quickly but that was pre-covid.

NICK7nick7 · 13/07/2020 18:05

Thank you. He did offer but my husband had already had it done as he was partaking in a research trial but then we only ever got preliminary results from the research people and this was over 8 months ago and despite chasing numerous times we didn’t get them. The preliminary showed the basic info and 0% morphology so Dr S said for my husband to start a daily multivitamin and come back in 3 months if we didn’t get pregnant. I got pregnant on the first try but then we miscarried at 7-8 weeks. I’m now on Hydroxy for 8 weeks before we try again but trying to think of anything else we should do before we try to help our chances.

KtAgs · 13/07/2020 18:09

Hey @NICK7nick7 We've had the sperm fragmentation test via Mr Shehata. We also get pregnant fairly quickly. They take the sample at the doctors lab. We got it back in two weeks during covid. It required improvement so hubby is on Impryl and had a urine test which showed an infection so we both got treated for that. It's worthwhile doing i think. The dna damage they saw is consistent with women with early miscarriages and I know that two of my three losses had chromosomal issues. Has given my husband a bit of a kick up the arse but they can't really be sure what caused them if that makes sense? Xx

KtAgs · 13/07/2020 18:11

I've been on the hydroxy for about 2 months and I've had quite consistent but ticklish pins and needles in both my fore arms. I'll probably speak to the clinic about it this week but wondered if anyone else had experienced it?

KtAgs · 13/07/2020 18:11

*sorry- meant to say I've experienced this over the last two days.

NICK7nick7 · 13/07/2020 18:17

@KtAgs thank you, that’s helpful to know that other treatment other than just multivitamins may be required. I’ve had 2 second trimester losses and 4 earlier losses - the most recent 2 (both around 8 weeks) were tested and chromosomally normal. If there was a fragmentation issues, would there be chromosomal issues or not necessarily do you know?

I’m in Hydroxy and haven’t had those symptoms. I’ve had some headaches at first and a bit of nausea and slight dizziness.

hrtbrk2 · 13/07/2020 18:24

Hi @NICK7nick7 to my knowledge if you had dna issues this would have flagged as a chromosomal issue during your previous mc tests. I'm not positive but I'm pretty sure. Also morphology is a huge one in preventing you getting pregnant so if you are falling quickly it may be that is is not now at 0 - if it helps though sticking a 1000mg supplement of vitamin c will help, I buy the soluble drink tabs from boots that include zinc they are dead cheap as my oh used to have low morphology too. Also needs to lay off the booze and get some good sleep. Hope that helps! X

NICK7nick7 · 13/07/2020 18:34

@hrtbrk2 very helpful, thank you! The laying off the booze is an ongoing battle with him although he is now doing a max of 2 alcoholic drinks a week! I wish all I had to do was reduce my alcohol intake!!

KtAgs · 13/07/2020 19:32

I'm not an expert by any means but my first 2nd trimester loss had no chromosomal issues and we still got some high results. That being said, my husband was training for a marathon when we got pregnant the first time so reckon he was in better shape then. According to the urologist, sperm regenerates every three months. It could be worth checking anyway to put your mind at ease as there could be varicocele which we will look at after another fragmentation test following three months of treatment which was the antibiotics and Impryl - a supplement which mimics the Mediterranean diet rather than just giving a range of vitamins. Quite clever really.

If after 3 months the fragmentation comes back high again, then we would get hubby a scrotal scan. Xx

LRL12 · 13/07/2020 20:23

@NICK7nick7 we haven’t had the Sperm fragmentation done as my husband is currently away working but I did buy him the Impryl and vitamins for him to take.
I’m due to start taking hydroxy but I only have to take a loading dose before TTC again so decided to start next month so it’s in my system a little as you’ve all said you’ve taken it for 8wks before TTC,
I’m also on the complex plan with pessary’s and the intralipids and all the other vitamins.
I’ve been having weekly acupuncture to which I really enjoy and she has a great success rate herself (makes me feel like I’m doing something)
We get pregnant quickly but unfortunately loosing them around the 8-11wks so it maybe something we look at doing in the future when he’s back home.
How are you @Sophfr17 ❤️

NICK7nick7 · 13/07/2020 20:29

@LRL12 Sorry for your losses ❤️. My loading dose was 200mg 2x per day for 2 days and then I have to take 1x 200mg per day everyday for 8 weeks. Interesting that it’s different for different people, I wonder why.

My husband has the Impryl, what other vitamins will your husband take?

I’ve been having acupuncture too, although fortnightly rather than weekly at the moment, and I’m finding it really helpful for a range of problems.

LRL12 · 13/07/2020 21:07

@NICK7nick7
Mines the same as you but not for 8 wks for some reason I did check with the clinic after few others said they had taken for 8wks prior, I think I will start now to be on the safe side,
He was taking the men’s Vitality but stopped taking them when he started taking Impryl as it can effect the results of the Impryl (think it explains more on the box) sorry I thought he was taking other vitamins still.
But he also needs to eat sleep well and reduce alcohol ect the usual,
X

Hi everyone, and thanks for you lovely messages.

I am alright, life continues right. I don't really know what to do with myself though. I will wait for advice from my doctor, i suppose...

Although this is my body and my choice, the reason is stronger, and i have to move quickly and try again, even though i would love to have a break... I'm sure you feel the same sometimes...

You are a great support, take care xxx

Aargh just wrote out a long post and lost it - so in short - attached is a photo of my opk tests from tues morn, tues night and this morning. I triggered on Monday night suggesting I should have ovulated this morning but the opk tests (darkest on the right) suggest my surge is today?! We've done the deed obviously but I just wondered what would you guys think of this - they told me to pred/cyclogest from today too which if I don't ovulate until today or tomorrow seems a little early?!

I guess I'm asking - how do they know you will definitely ovulate at 36 ish hours on the trigger because it always seems a bit off to me with all the other signals xx

Hope you are all ok xx

HoldingOn2Hope · 15/07/2020 11:18

@hrtbrk2 hello :) I was told not to test ovulation at all after trigger, I got told off the once as I did and rang up and asked this same Q 😬🤣
I was told the trigger shot will stop any further follicle growth and release eggs so not to test but I still did on the sly. I would DTD today and tomorrow too if I were you. It's all confusing isn't it, in all fairness I stopped ovu tests this last cycle and got the bfp. I'm still waiting for AF to show the f**k up! It's so annoying. Hope this cycle brings you a BFP🤞🏽
