An introduction to this thread. It has been running for many years and has proved a saviour for so many of us who have suffered recurrent miscarriages as we go through this incredibly tough journey.

Discussions cover immune issues, NK (natural killer) cells, thyroid issues, PGS and many many more.

Welcome to the group no-one wants to be in

@KtAgs I’m sorry to hear you’re having a hard time 😔 I feel at the minute everything is just a bit more blerghh with Covid hanging around! I can totally relate to feeling a bit all over the place too. My mood has been so up and down, I have zero motivation or concentration to do work for any reasonable period of time (I’m totally over WFH now and would like some face to face interaction please!! 😩) plus I find myself crying at random things! Yesterday it was because I missed my puppy, who I’d booked into Doggy day care as he’s been attached at my hip for the last 3 months and I was getting so stressed trying to work with his constant need for attention 🙈 I guess it’s like a parent missing their baby as soon as they’ve gone down to sleep, even if they’ve had a really testing day 😂🤷🏻‍♀️

Good luck for your test on Sunday 🤞🏽🤞🏽 Just remember to be kind to yourself too, there’s no guide for how to deal with raging hormones and emotions whilst living through a global pandemic! Sending love 💛💛 xx

I decided to go for the epua scan today as waiting another week just seems impossible.
Unfortunately no heartbeat and no progression :(
I'm going back tomorrow for the medical management or the MVA (which Geri recommends).
Gutted and losing all hope and faith.

Crystal2020 · 19/06/2020 11:34

@HoldingOn2Hope you’ve been on my mind a lot and I am so very sad to hear this news. Sending love and wishing you strength to get you through the next couple of days xx

KtAgs · 19/06/2020 11:43

I'm so sorry @HoldingOn2Hope. That's just rubbish. I hate this has happened to you and I wish it was different for you and your partner.

Medical management is definitely a bit grim. I've not had an MVA but sounds like the best of a bad lot.

I'm sorry lovely ❤ xx

HarrietM87 · 19/06/2020 11:51

Oh no @HoldingOn2Hope. I’m so so sorry to hear this. I’ve been thinking of you.

I’ve had 2 MVAs and medical management and highly recommend MVA. It’s done under local anaesthetic and is a very quick procedure (though unpleasant). It was u comfortable having the speculum in but it’s over so quickly and because they remove the blood too there’s very minimal bleeding after and quick recovery. With medical management it can drag on for ages, is painful and if it doesn’t all come out you might need ERPC or MVA anyway.

Also, are you thinking of asking for the embryo to be tested? If so, much easier for them to do that in a hospital environment.

I’m so sorry about this and hope you can take the time you need to process it xxxx

hrtbrk2 · 19/06/2020 12:02

@HoldingOn2Hope I'm just so sorry. Life is so cruel and unfair and it's an impossible situation. There is nothing I can say to make you feel better but rest and indulgence this weekend may help a little x Please don't give up hope - it will happen for all of us x

Wishing5tar · 19/06/2020 12:13

@HoldingOn2Hope I’m so so sorry! I’m hoping & praying that you get your rainbow soon 🌈🌈 please don’t loose hope xx

hrtbrk2 · 19/06/2020 12:37

Hi ladies - another question if I may!

I've had my letter through from Dr S re. My appointment earlier this week and it says he has seen some small 'Endometriomas' on my ovaries - does this mean I have endometriosis does anyone know? My sister suffered terribly with this for years and had 3 rounds of ivf to have her little girl and I have been banging on about it since I started this journey and because I've had not symptoms no one would do a laporoscopy to check - now I'm wondering if this has been it all along!

@Wishing5tar thanks so much for your Earlier comment xx

Gooe · 19/06/2020 16:00

@HoldingOn2Hope im really sorry to hear this. I was really hoping that everything would be okay. This whole journey is so tough for all of us but we have to keep going until we can. We are all here to support you and each other. Thinking of u @HoldingOn2Hope big virtual hug. Be kind to yourself in the few weeks that come next. It will work out for u and for all of us. Injabe every faith. X

Countrygirl220 · 19/06/2020 16:50

@HoldingOn2Hope I'm so sorry to read this news I've been thinking of you. It's so heartbreaking I'm sending love and a virtual hug and hope that tomorrow goes ok for you x

@HarrietM87 thanks for checking in, I'm ok just waiting to get from milestone to milestone, I hope you are ok too?

@KtAgs good luck for Sunday, keeping everything crossed for you🤞🏽

Hope everyone else is ok x

HoldingOn2Hope · 19/06/2020 17:58

Thank you all.
I think when it's happened again and again you kind of know the drill and just get on with it.
Luckily the nurse at EPU agreed to the MVA under exceptional circumstances- she said it's not something they are offering due to covid but agrees it's the best way to get the fetus tested and has agreed to that too. She's been there for all my mc's and in a way it helps as she has been really supportive.
I just don't know what the route is for us and thanks to covid I can't escape to a beach somewhere either!

HoldingOn2Hope · 19/06/2020 18:03

You feel stuck in the middle with private VS nhs as when I spoke to Geri and she said they recommend the MVA and that my local hospital probably won't offer it, I then called the nurse back and mentioned it and the customer is having it down with Dr S and she kind of took a deep breath and said 'well for that reason alone I'm going to do it for you, not going to have you go through a procedure and pay a couple of thousand £ when I can make an exception'
My OH has taken it worse then me, I'm the stronger one and he's just very sad.
I'm dreading the MVA but had a hysteroscopy and nurse has said it's the same kind of uncomfy pain.
I know it's easy to lose faith and as much as I want a child I just don't want the journey.l to get there.

HarrietM87 · 19/06/2020 19:31

Oh @HoldingOn2Hope that’s so kind of the nurse to do that for you. So awful that you have to go through it though - you do not deserve this.

The procedure is uncomfortable but you have a local anaesthetic and it honestly is over so quickly. I found it more mentally than physically upsetting...in many ways would be easier to have a GA and just wake up when it’s all over, but on the plus side you can just get out of there so quickly and go home to your own lovely bed. Take care of yourself. You’ve been so strong.

PurplePansy05 · 19/06/2020 22:08

@HoldingOn2Hope I'm so sorry Flowers I had MVA 2 weeks ago, honestly, it was great (it's a wrong word to use, but great in comparison to other methods and I've been through the lot of them except for D&C). Fire away any questions you may have. So sorry again Flowers

Hazlet2 · 19/06/2020 23:03

@HoldingOn2Hope I'm so sorry to hear this. It's so unfair. Take it easy and look after yourself 💛

Chickjen · 20/06/2020 02:21

So sorry to hear that @HoldingOn2Hope 😥 I know you are feeling knocked right now but in a few days/weeks it will ease, and you will try again, and it WILL happen 💐

hrtbrk2 · 20/06/2020 08:31

@HoldingOn2Hope just a little msg to say I'll be thinking of you today, I hope it all goes ok x there are so many people I seem to have seen that have mc'd on dr Shehata's plan but then gone on to carry to term so I hope you haven't given up but for now, just take some time, relax, recooperate and keep talking to us about how you feel - you're not on your own xx

HoldingOn2Hope · 20/06/2020 10:47

Thank you all. I was called in about an hour ago so hopefully it's over soon. Xx

KtAgs · 20/06/2020 12:10

Fingers crossed lovely. Thinking of you. Message here when you need to but also stay away as long as you need as well. Do what you need to do to get by.
Xxx

Gooe · 20/06/2020 12:43

@HoldingOn2Hope thinking of you today. Hopefully you'll be back home soon to rest and take it easy x

Crystal2020 · 20/06/2020 13:34

Best of luck @HoldingOn2Hope. We’re all thinking of you today. Xx

HoldingOn2Hope · 20/06/2020 14:11

Traumatic but it's over with. Lucky to have a lovely consultant and nurses with me today. Thank you for your kind words x

Eeviee · 21/06/2020 12:29

@HoldingOn2Hope I'm so so sorry to hear your news, I was really hoping this time would be different for you 😥 I totally understand how you feel losing hope as it's so hard staying positive time and time again When I'm feeling bad, I take comfort knowing that the feeling won't last forever and it won't, you'll find your hope again because you're so strong. It's just so unfair. Take good care of yourself ❤️

@KtAgs good luck for your test today, sorry you've been struggling on the pred. I know being on all the meds is just horrible. You could try drinking tart cherry juice (cherryactive). From what I understand, pred depletes our melatonin (our sleep hormone) and cherries are full of melatonin so can support better melatonin. It could be worth a try?

@hrtbrk2 I don't know much about endometrias but it sounds as if you should ask Dr S for a proper explanation. X

Thanks for thinking of me @eevie. BFN today. I'm pretty sad but I'm glad to stop the pred. It's horrible. Hope you're OK @holdingOn2Hope. Xx

Eeviee · 21/06/2020 14:41

@KtAgs sorry, I know how much it sucks 😞Are you 10dpo? I'd check again in a couple of days, last time I got negative at 10dpo but positive at 12. Xx
