@Mayaluna19 I'm sorry to hear you think it's a chemical, but there are plenty of reasons for a chemical apart from egg quality, dodgy sperm, poor attachment etc. The fact you conceived shows you are so close, if you have the strength personally I think it would be a shame not to try again 💐

Mayaluna19 · 11/06/2020 13:45

@Chickjen Thank you for your support.
My husband has been taking impryl since December and my lining has been 9mm every time I went for my Superovulation scan.
That's why I think my problem is my eggs.
I hope my period arrives soon. I'm already 3 days late despite the faintest line.
I'm also worried it could be an ectopic as, you know, when you start googling all the options...

At the moment, I just feel like giving up.

Chickjen · 11/06/2020 14:25

@Mayaluna19 ah yes, Dr Google has an even worse bedside manner than Mr S 😂 Mr S can be pretty blunt, I don't think he would treat you unless he thought it was possible. Be kind to yourself, give your DC a big squeeze and before you know it in a couple of days your fighting spirit will be back ❤️

@Wishing5tar you have been so patient, of all people I can't wait to read of your bfp, if not in a couple of days, then next month 💐

Crystal2020 · 11/06/2020 14:34

@Wishing5tar definitely treat yourself! I always crack open a bottle of wine and order a naughty takeaway on BFN days. It’s the only time I drink so I bloody enjoy it! Sorry to hear that and wishing you all the luck for next time xx. It’s such a hard slog isn’t it. I feel so demotivated with it all at the mo (I’m sure lockdown isn’t helping!).

@HoldingOn2Hope I have been thinking of you today. Let us know how you got on when you can.

@Mayaluna19 I know this is so so hard. But the fact your lining is so good and the fact you had a baby so recently are definitely reasons to have hope. Like @Chickjen says if you can find the strength to try again you should. X

Naticle · 11/06/2020 14:44

@Mayaluna19
I'm a lurker too. Similar age. Similar story. Dr. S will be honest. Wait until you've seen him.
Until then I'm sending you hugs.

@HoldingOn2Hope hoping for the best for you xxxx

HoldingOn2Hope · 11/06/2020 15:28

Hello ladies,

Well I'm kind of still in limbo it's 50-50

Today's scan showed pregnancy, it's progressed but not as much and heartbeat has dropped. I'm having intralipids as I'd regret it if I don't and he wants to see me In 2 weeks. He said it's still viable but the heartbeat has dropped so isn't always a good sign.

The left ovary 'thing' has reduced so he still thinks it could have been an ectopic and that's why I had the bleed or a cyst too.

I really feel like I'm being tested.
Anyone had any similar experiences when it comes to heartbeat?

@Mayaluna19 Pls don't lose hope and I agree with the others that Dr S will be honest. He was with me today. Xx

HarrietM87 · 11/06/2020 15:31

Oh no @HoldingOn2Hope I’m sorry it wasn’t straightforward good news. But Mr S said it was viable which is fantastic. How much had the heart rate dropped by? And how much growth had there been?

2 weeks is a horrible long time to wait. Will be thinking of you xxx

HoldingOn2Hope · 11/06/2020 15:38

@HarrietM87 he said it was 138bpm last week and today 81bpm :(
He did say he could have been over generous with his measurements last week but would have liked to see a stronger hb.
I'm sat having intralipids only because I'll think 'what if' but I'm kind of not very hopeful either.

Mayaluna19 · 11/06/2020 15:39

I'm so sorry @HoldingOn2Hope. I know how hard it is to wait. Look after yourself and we will all be thinking of you.x

HoldingOn2Hope · 11/06/2020 15:39

@HarrietM87 growth has gone from 2.49 to 3.3 so he said I'm still measuring 6 weeks.
It doesn't sound all promising :(

Chickjen · 11/06/2020 15:57

@HoldingOn2Hope I'm sorry to hear that, it is going to be a tough wait 💐Are you already taking the full 25mg of pred?

HoldingOn2Hope · 11/06/2020 16:05

@Chickjen I'm taking 20mcg should I up it?

Chickjen · 11/06/2020 16:38

@HoldingOn2Hope Mr S was prescribing 25mg pre Covid so it might be worth an email to the clinic to ask. How well can you isolate? But in the spirit of doing all you can, personally I think I would (obviously I am not an expert but I did take 25mg with my plan)

HoldingOn2Hope · 11/06/2020 17:11

@Chickjen yes I was on 25mg before covid.
I started don 15mg at ovulation and increased it to 20mg from bfp after some suggestions from others on here. I think the heart rate has really disheartened me. He or been my first scan I may have thought it might be better next time but lasts weeks showers 138bpm. It's going to be the longest 2 weeks of my life!

Countrygirl220 · 11/06/2020 18:00

@HoldingOn2Hope I'm sorry to hear that you're still in limbo, it's so hard. I think it is positive the Dr S said that it's viable, I feel he would have been straight up with you if he didn't think that. So I think you've done the right thing by throwing everything at it, I would have done the same. Am keeping everything crossed for you x

@Wishing5tar I'm sorry to hear about your bfn, but it's definitely not over yet, am rooting for you too x

Mayaluna19 I'm sorry to hear of your story, but I agree with the others it's about finding the strength to keep going if you possibly can, even when it's so hard. I think every doctor I've ever seen has said keep going and eventually you'll get there. Also I don't know much about super ovulation but @HarrietM87 might have said typically the most success on is on cycle 4-6 which would be coming up for you x

HoldingOn2Hope · 11/06/2020 18:20

@Countrygirl220 thank you, I feel as I've been dangled off the edge of a clifftop right now. But just need to keep calm and hope the next few weeks go fast. I don't see the point in going back to him next week as he will have a better indication of viability in a couple of weeks.

Crystal2020 · 11/06/2020 20:43

I’m so sorry you have to wait two weeks @HoldingOn2Hope. I would be doing the exact same as you and throwing everything at it. Will be thinking of you xxx

Gooe · 11/06/2020 21:39

@HoldingOn2Hope so sorry you have to wait. 2 weeks is a long time. I think it's a good idea to have taken the intralipids.. just remember you are pregnant today. Keep the faith and spirit. Thinking of you x

HoldingOn2Hope · 11/06/2020 21:44

Thank you all. I think we've decided to have a re-scan in 10 days. I don't think I want to wait 2 weeks. Dr S did say if I wanted to come back next week I could but I think 10 days is a 'meet in the middle'.
I'm not hopeful after reading on Dr Google but DH is so i kind of will try and be for him.
Thank you all for the positivity xx

HoldingOn2Hope · 12/06/2020 12:23

Hello All,

I've had a call from the midwife from my GP surgery, luckily it's the same one I saw in my first pregnancy and she was amazing even though it ended in mc but she made sure I was seen by a consultant at the Epu at the time.

I've told her about the 3 scans and she's confused 😐
She said the EPU scan and Yday's scan seem to tally up. She said if the EPU didn't detect a heartbeat and measured me at 5.5 weeks it's a normal outcome and then to be measured at 6 weeks a couple of days later with a heartbeat is pretty normal as when a foetal hb starts it's within 80-100. Although she said below 90 is always said to be low.
She doesn't understand how Dr S measured me at 6 weeks a week ago with a strong heartbeat at 138bpm as she said it was likely I was around 5 weeks and it's unlikely to detect a hb of that. He did say to me yday he may have been too 'generous' with his measurements which kind of peed me off a little.
She asked if he took my heart rate and I I said it was sky high as I was overwhelmed with the whole ectopic scenario. Mine was btw 137-144 and I remember nurse telling him it's 'out the roof' - I don't know if she's reassuring me but said is there a chance he's picked up yours on that day?
I wouldn't want to think that as I trust he's far to advanced to have done that.
She has suggested I still attend my EPU appt next week as if it's the worst case scenario they will be dealing with it, which I agree as I don't think it's affordable to pay 2.5k for Dr S to have the pregnancy out and tested.

Sophfr17 · 12/06/2020 13:17

Hey there,
I am sorry in advance, because a lot of you seem to rely on this person a lot... I have more and more doubt about this Dr S., who may seem like a charlatan or a guru taking advantage of women like us who struggle like hell to get pregnant. But I may very likely be wrong. So i apologize in advance.
I had a quick chat about him with my Dr at UCLH last week, and his expression and silence said it all... however he said that it would be my decision if i decide to meet with this man if my blood thinning treatment is not working, or if i want to try something else before the starting the IFV-PGS. He is also sceptikal about the scientific rationale behind it.
Stay strong. Honestly, you could pretend a bleeding or some pain and go to the EPU (i dont know where you leave, but the one at UCLH is walk in, so no need to have an appointment).
Take care xx
Sophie.

@HoldingOn2Hope sorry to hear that you're still in limbo, what a confusing situation and this is the disadvantage of early scans. I suppose it's possible what the midwife said? I mean Dr S is experienced but not infallible. I don't know from personal experience but have heard of lots of people where scans show no hb and then next week there it is. I'd say don't give up hope yet, there's still a chance it'll be ok, but I know how hard it is waiting for scans and being in limbo.

@Wishing5tar I'm really sorry you've got a bfn, it's so deflating. I wish you luck son, maybe next month will be different x

@Mayaluna19 sorry to read your message and that you are feeling so low. As long as you are ovulating there's always a chance but I know it so tough to keep going. Ne kind to yourself x

@HoldingOn2Hope difficult. How many weeks are you by your dates? I think what the midwife says is comforting. But all very odd. Definitely go to epu.

@Sophfr17 it's so difficult to navigate all the different opinions. I was nervous under Dr. S. I did feel like a cash cow and found him rude. I mentioned once before he made me repeat many tests done less than a year previously by axa and when I said I didn't need them he said 'it's not pick n mix you know'
Id been recommended him by an epu scanner at haywards heath who told me of the many many success stories she'd seen and it worked for me. I had my daughter in 2018 at age 43 after after 5 miscarriages (one of whixh under his plan)
I can see both sides but now absolutely totally and utterly believe in him.
Keep an open mind x
