Anyone had more than one MC?

Hi There :-)

I'm currently pregnant for the 3rd time since last August. Into the 'danger zone' of 5.2 weeks... as I've never made it past 6- 6.5 sadly. Just wondered if anyone has had MC (miscarriage) investigations and has a similar story to what I describe below please?

I've noticed a pattern with my pregnancies, where I get symptoms at implantation (i.e. boobs hard, extra saliva, tired ) .... they go milder at 4 weeks (boobs less hard, maybe a bit tired) and at 5 weeks they all go. (Boobs now totally soft again) I just feel totally symptomless now and full of energy. :-(

I know there's probably nothing I can do for this pregnancy now, but if you have anything to share I'd really appreciate it. Just can't quite believe that it would be bad luck 3 times in a row - with the exact symptom pattern each time?

(This time I put myself on the baby aspirin and 800mg progesterone pessaries too - as I thought one of those may have been the cause. Waiting for official investigations in April)

xx

I am 6 weeks pregnant for the 4th time in 2 years. With each pregnancy I was told it was very unlikely I’d miscarry again, and each time I just ‘felt’ when it had gone wrong and was right each time. After the 3rd at the end of July I was referred to the recurrent miscarriage clinic in Leeds (who I must say were amazing). By Christmas I’d had 2 appointments, got a diagnosis of APS, been started on daily 150mg aspirin. The APS can prevent decent implantation, or causes tiny blood clots in the placenta - my miscarriages have all been between 5 and 8 weeks. The daily aspirin makes this less likely due to its blood thinning properties, although I actually have to take the aspirin every day forever to prevent APS causing clots. I got a bfp on a Saturday morning a couple of weeks ago and by 1pm I’d been seen in hospital and was back home with a big bag of aspirin and daily heparin injections. First scan tomorrow, then every 2 weeks. It’s nerve wracking but at least I do feel looked after. I am symptom spotting but to be honest my morning sickness rocketed in the last few weeks of my last pregnancy, and was worse in the 2 weeks between fetal death and me finding out.

I am keeping my fingers crossed for you and hope everything goes well for you. Keep us posted x

Sorry - that was bigger than I realised! X

Sadly it's not that unusual to have repeat mcs, 2 in a row isn't even significant enough for a referral. I ended up with clexane (low dose heparin) and progesterone pessaries, which worked for me. For now, try if you can not to obsess about it, it won't do you any good. If you unlucky enough to lose this one, that's the time to push for testing and interventions.
