Terrified for the pain

I’m in the process of miscarrying at 7 weeks. So far I haven’t had any pain and passed some large clots but I know it’s going to get worse and I’m so scared. I just want it to be over.

Big hugs xxx

I can't lie, the chances are that the cramping will kick in and can be pretty horrific, but keep talking xxx

I'm sure there'll be lots of support here

I know and it’s the waiting that’s hurting the most. I just want to be happy and to be able to look after my little girl. I just don’t know what to expect x

hi hopeful. Try not to worry. I found it quite bareable. Have you got any painkillers in? You are able to take quite strong ones. I can't remember what the hospital prescribed me. Might have been cocodamol or codeine. A hot water bottle will help too.

So sorry you are going through this. As pp said keep talking here if it will help.

Definitely heat and pain killers xxx

Hettyturnip · 22/01/2018 20:00

I’ve just had a miscarriage. The pain started off reasonably bearable, few deep breaths to get through the worst bits. I’d taken ibruprofen and paracetamol when I had the first twinges. However, after that died down about half an hour later it started up again and it was agony. We phoned an ambulance! But it lasted 20mins or so, passed a big clot and instant relief.

This pain was worse than my other 2 miscarriages, so yours might not be so bad. Plus, you just have to remember it won’t last very long. You are a strong woman, you can survive this.

Big hugs to you OP.
When I had my MC, I took the co-codamol I’d been given by the hospital even though I wasn’t sure if I would need it - I think pre-empting the pain like that helped me through it.
Hopefully the worst will be over tonight xxx

Bedsox · 22/01/2018 20:05

Ive had 4 miscarriages and every one was different the first and last one were the most painful physically the 2 inbetween were not really painful at all just very emotional.

Sorry you are going through this op. Try and relax your body Flowers

SleepFreeZone · 22/01/2018 20:06

I miscarried around the same gestation and experienced no pain at all. My body just absorbed the sac I think as I had a few clots later on but otherwise it was mainly lots of mucus and period type bleeding.

Hopeful4444 · 22/01/2018 23:47

Thank you ladies. Can’t sleep because I’m so scared of what’s to come. I can feel my anxiety taking over. I just want this to be done so I can feel like me again.

You need to sleep x

Hopeful4444 · 23/01/2018 00:04

I’m trying but my head is swimming and my heart is racing

Thinking of you x

Neolara · 23/01/2018 00:11

I has 4 mc. At 7 weeks it is possible it could just be like a period and not painful at all.

I'm sorry you are having to go through this.

mehhh · 23/01/2018 00:20

Big hugs xxx

Try and get some rest, take paracetamol and ibruprofen, and take a hot water bottle to bed... I miscarried at 10 weeks and the only way I can describe it is bad period pains but hot water bottles painkillers and rest help

Hopeful4444 · 23/01/2018 09:23

Thank you for all your reassuring messages. As it stands I am yet to experience much pain or heavy bleeding so it’s still a waiting game.

I'm going through one at the moment at 6w and I was anticipating loads of pain and blood, but it's been like a heavy period, been keeping topped up on cocodomal and using sleeping tablets at night just herbal ones.
Are you being supported by anyone? X

Hopeful4444 · 23/01/2018 10:43

May get some stronger pain killers just in case. Yes my partner is fantastic but he just doesn’t really know what to do/say. We have a beautiful daughter to who is making the process much easier emotionally x

OP posts:
colourful86 · 23/01/2018 11:04

Have you had your HCG levels checked? Mine were really low for 6w which makes
me think that's why there wasn't as much blood etc as I was anticipating as it wasn't that far along x

Enirroc · 23/01/2018 11:31

It may not be very heavy, it could be slow and gradual x

Hopeful4444 · 23/01/2018 11:34

I haven’t had my HCG levels checked I had an internal scan yesterday which showed a sac but no heartbeat and active bleeding which they classed as a non viable pregnancy. I’m bleeding just like a normal pregnancy. Had some cramping last night but just like a period and no cramping today just like a normal period flow.

OP posts:
Hopeful4444 · 23/01/2018 11:34

Normal period not normal pregnancy. Typo.

Aww :( try and take care of yourself and ride the sadness. I tried not to cry and to keep busy but in the end I couldn't, so now I'm just crying it out when the sadness takes over but when it passes I feel a bit better each time.
The nurse said to me they'd retake my bloods on Friday and then I have to do a pg test in 2 weeks and if it's negative then everything has gone xx

Enirroc · 23/01/2018 12:36

They just told me that I should go to A&E if I developed any signs of infection in case it was incomplete and otherwise to rest.

Hopeful4444 · 23/01/2018 12:49

I know it sounds awful but I just want it to happen so I can try and go back to normal. I have a wonderful partner and a beautiful daughter and before this weekend I was the happiest I’ve ever been. Emotionally I understand it wasn’t our time, we have plenty of time to add to our family and we have so much to look forward to with our daughter. I don’t want to dwell on what could have been and just get back to playing in the park and planning birthdays. At present I’m too nervous to leave the house in case in happens when I’m out and about.
