10 days ago i found out that my baby had died, i was 15 weeks pregnant.

I already have a 18month old dd but i am terrified that i will never be able to have another baby.

Has anyone suffered a miscarriage and then went on to have lots of healthy children?

I need some hope for the future.

Hi griffintribe. My DS was also 18 months old when I miscarried, but I was only 7 weeks pg. Conceived again 3 months later and had DD in July 06.

I've got 2 work colleagues who are currently pg and doing fine who've each had 2 m/c since having their first child.

Hang in there!

X-posts. You sound like me this time last year - but now I have a bouncing baby boy!

My history is as follows:

Nov 2002 MC at 9 wks
Sept 2003 health baby born
Aug 2005 MC 7 wks
Feb 2006 MC 10 wks (baby had died at 7 wks)
Dec 2006 Healthy baby born

We can't actually afford more children - unless we win the lottery - but if that ever happened I would certainley try for more, regardless of my history.

Miscarriages are not unusual - but that doesnt make it easier for you.

Hope you get your next baby really soon, both my babies were conceived 6-8 weeks after a MC!

Lots of love

My history:
1987 ds1
mm/c 1
1990 ds2
1991 dd1
1992 ds3
mm/c 2
m/c 3
1995 dd2
mm/c 4
1996 dd3
1998 dd4
2000 dd5
m/c 5
mm/c 6
2003 dd6
mm/c 7
mm/c 8

Miscarriage is common for some. After my first m/c I thought I wouldn't be able to have any more children. Especially as it took longer to conceive than it had on the 2 previous occasions. However, it did happen and then came 3..one after the other. Although you are very upset and worried now, just believe that it will happen again for you. Best wishes.

You have 9 children

juuule · 17/03/2007 21:06

Yes, I have. Took me 2 or 3 goes sometimes to get a live birth but it does prove that m/c doesn't automatically mean no more babies. For me, it does make me feel so very lucky to have my children.

I'm very sorry for your loss.

Had mc 7/04, ds 5/05, 2 mcs 7/06 (7 weeks) and 9/06 (blighted ovum, 8ish weeks) and am now 14 weeks pg again, due 17.9.07. Had regular scans and all seems fine.

So sorry for your loss. I had a mc 5 years ago and have since had a son.

Best of luck.
