Hey, just saw this thread. I’m not sure if it’s still active but I’m freaking out a bit. I had a miscarriage on Nov 10, I thought I had my period at the end of November, but now have my second period and it’s pretty terrible. Has anyone experienced this? My Dr is sending me for an ultrasound just to make sure everything has been expelled but I’m exhausted from all the bleeding and some of the blood clots are freaking me out. My Dr didn’t seem too concerned but just looking for someone who’s had a similar experience. I’m still TTC, I also just turned 40... anybody have this experience or have any advice?

Hi
Jennica
I am in the same situation as you. 41 years old had a second miscarriage at week 6. Had my first period long after I had a surgery and now waiting for my second period, currently day 35 of my cycle. My GP hasn’t asked for a follow-up and I am so frystrated with this COVID situation, nobody seems to care

Hi, just came across this thread as I’ve also been freaking out. Had natural MC at 9 weeks in Dec, first period came at day 33, second one day 15 and now I’m still waiting for my third and it’s day 38! I was always regular with a 25 day cycle so this feels like torture as I really want to try again. I’ve also tested and got BFN so I know I’m not pregnant but would love to try and each day it doesn’t come is another day before I’ll be ovulating again 🥺 I’m 42 and worried that was my only chance, I am so glad I had a scan at 8 weeks so I do have a pic which I will cherish forever 💕 Hoping AF shows up soon but after reading others it seems it can take a long time!

Hi ladies, especially @NAR125 and @MajaMH... First time posting on Mumsnet but I came across this forum a few weeks ago and scoured it for answers so wanted to share my experience. I am 37 and have a beautiful little 3yr old girl. My husband & I started TTC again last year. I had a very early miscarriage in late summer, and then a missed miscarriage at 11 weeks in December. Had a D&C the week before Christmas. Prior to this, my cycles were like clockwork every 26 days and not particular heavy. Post D&C, AF arrived at 33 days (mid Jan) and was pretty normal, lasting 2-3 days. After that, I waited 61 days until AF arrived yesterday! I’ve never had a period so heavy (sorry TMI). Talking to my new acupuncturist and the doctor, cycles being messed up is completely normal (although not at all helpful!). I am having blood tests done this week to check LH, FSH, thyroid, iron and Vit D just in case - so you may want to request these (phone a sympathetic doctor....) - but I would recommend acupuncture. I’d only had two sessions and AF arrived; perhaps coincidence but equally it helped to de-stress me, so it’s done no harm. Hang in there 😘

@FES123 thanks, ours don’t sound too dissimilar in that I was a 25 day cycle, 2-4 day bleed and light before all of this. I finally got my next one after 47 days, so I had 33, 15 and 47, you essentially missed the one I got at 15 days. Otherwise we are fairly similar - regular 25/26 day cycle, light AF, miscarriage Dec and then here we are with trying to understand why we haven’t regulated yet 😭.
I have my bloods done every six months anyway and unfortunately I do have hypothyroidism so have to monitor that regularly esp as in pregnancy you need to increase dose.
I decided this month as my cycle has been so out I would pay out for the clear blue ovulation kit which monitors both estrogen and LH (had been using cheap LH ones previously) so on day 5 of cycle I got flashy 😃, hopefully that means ovulation is en route in couple of days and secondly my next cycle should be 20 odd days and fingers crossed regulating or even better it doesn’t come and we’ve been successful.
Good luck on your journey and hopefully we are all successful 🤞🏼💕

Hi @NAR125 sorry I know your post is a few months old but did your cycle return to normal? I have just had my 2nd period 18 days after my first (which was 5 weeks after). Didn't even know it was possible for them to be so short!

FES123 · 06/06/2021 18:05

Hi @unsure2021- I know the question wasn’t directed at me but I saw your message and thought I’d post in case helpful. Pleased to say that my cycles have broadly gone back to normal, with regular acupuncture (weekly or fortnightly). I used to be 26 days, ovulating on day 14. Since the MMC, mine have been 33, 60, 22 (got excited at this point…!), 14 (weird but felt like a reset in some weird way), 23 and now I’m 20 days in… For the last one and the current one, I ovulated on day 14. Hoping AF won’t come this month as we are TTC 🤞🏻

unsure2021 · 06/06/2021 18:14

@FES123 thank you so much for the reply. I might need to be a bit more patient then!

unsure2021 · 06/06/2021 18:14

@FES123 and fingers crossed for you this month 🤞🏻

FES123 · 06/06/2021 19:05

@unsure2021 Thank you! And hopefully you won’t need to be as patient as I had to be… 🤞🏻

NAR125 · 06/06/2021 19:32

@unsure2021 Hi, yes after the first three very random of 33, 15 and 47 days since then it seems to be back on track around 25-27. So I had a super long one after the short one and this seems fairly common.
I’ve been using the clear blue ovulation and happened to have my bloods done which showed progesterone at the right level for ovulation so all seems back to normal. It took from MC in Dec to April to come back to what seems normal but sadly no luck in getting pregnant again as yet :-( just keep telling myself I’ve only had two “normal” cycles so keeping my fingers and toes crossed it will happen soon. Apparently it can take several months to regulate, someone I know also had a MC in July they said it also took them 4-5 months as well and they’re now expecting. Hope that helps and gives you some relief x

Thank you @NAR125 really appreciate you replying to me!

Hi there

Iam on the same boat as everyone. My first Period after MMC came after 6weeks and Iam on 47th day today for my second cycle and still getting negative Pregancy tests and still no periods.Lots of slight cramping not sure if they are in my head or real it’s onesShockand night sweats .

When did you receive your second or when did you get positive test.

Shazizo2 · 22/10/2021 19:23

Hi Just to say it seems AF have showed up.CD49..so it’s two days after the above post.

Finger crossed for everyone waiting and all of us TTC

Sunnyxo · 12/11/2021 08:14

I’m also in the same boat! My first AF was 6 weeks after and was pretty normal, now I’m on CD40 when I usually have cycles of 32 days. I’ve had a BFN today, but did realise I ovulated late in my cycle on CD 29, so 12 days ago. I have been taking b6 supplements to help progesterone so whether that’s lengthened the luteal phase, I’ve also got a cold which might be delaying AF.
