2nd period after a miscrariage

i had a missed miscarriage on the 16th of march, i went on to have a normal period 9 weeks later, i'm still awaiting my 2nd period i'm on calendar day 41 my cycle is usually 35 days long, so i'm about a week late, i have tested but getting bfn just wondering if any 1 could offer me any advise, i do have some symptoms back ache nausea heavy boobs, but think its my body toying with me. xx

I know it's so frustrating. The inconsistency is sending me mad. I have had sharp abdominal pain as well. Hope our cycles regulate after this month 🤞

Me too, it never crossed my mind that it wouldn’t go back to normal after my first cycle, I just assumed it would be fine, and now it’s driving me pottie 🤯

In exactly the same position has you kyoyo, my first period after the initial bleed lasted 10 days. I’m now 2 days late for my next period. I always had completely regular cycles prior to the miscarriage and I totally just expected everything would return to normal straight away

If I go by my cycle pre pregnancy it would make me nearly 1 week late, I hope it turns up soon!

My period has finally made an appearance! Looks like my cycle is now 41 days instead of 32 ☹️

@Kyoyo I have been googling this, plus combing through threads on here with a fine toothed comb and it appears that this disparity in cycle length so soon after a mc is normal and it will settle down. I feel reassured. We just have to try to be patient. Are you using opk's? I'm wondering if us being so late this month meant we ov'd late, or not at all that cycle 🤷🏽‍♀️

I am also in a similar position.. d&c mid January and coming up will be my 4th cycle.. my cycles have been out by a few day’s early or late, before this I was regular every month.. this month though I did have ovulation pains for the first time in 6 months or so which I’m hoping is a good sign. I tracked my ovulation and got a positive.. now though I have had spotting since dpo 9. Also I have had really light periods but a darker colour than usual dice d&c anyone else?
Have a doctors appointment this week to see what they say.. it’s really frustrating

Hi @Katz38, you are about a month and a half ahead of me with regards mc. I am currently on just my second cycle post mc which eventually arrived, a week late, on Friday. Positive opk for you is excellent. I tested last cycle for a week around the time I thought I may ov and was negative throughout. Unsure now if I even ovulated at all.
As for period flow and length etc, last one was unbelievably heavy and lasted 10 days. Not so heavy with this one so far but blood is very dark.
Please let us know how your doctors app goes

I am in similar situation, so relieved to find this.
I had MMC in March, one normal cycle all in a timely manner and now sitting round waiting for second AF. I’m almost certain that although I ovulated after MC I didn’t ovulate this time (usually hurts like anything). Extremely paranoid I’m just going into early menopause (might be thinking about this too much), after reading this thread I probably just need to wait it out and trust my body knows what it is doing Hmm But argh it would be nice to know things are just working!

I am in the same situation here miscarried on 2nd April. Normal period on 6th May, cycle continued as normal ovulated 21st May (I get bad pain so I know) period Is 3 days late and I am normally pretty regular. So hard when you start to think you are pregnant again. Even after 3 negative tests the thought is still in my mind.

Hi, I MC in February 2020. I had my 1st period after 6 weeks. While for 2nd period it came very very late I kept checking on PT but it was all BFN. But between my second period I had 5 times spottings dark and bright colours on different days. Finally after 63 DAYS! AF finally came. This is very sad, stressful and tiring. I don't want to worry my DH. He's been very supportive, but I feel very guilty towards him, he kept on seeing me cry but I can't help myself. We've been trying for 2 years, when we finally got BFP I miscarried. Did anyone ever experience this? I mean the 63 days 2nd period late. Due to this Covid my next Dr appointment is extended to September. But I'm glad I found this thread though, knowing I'mnot the only one going through this. But I do hope after everyone commented here, they can tell their experiences after their comments. Since this thread has been since 2014

Hello all. Mc Feb 2020. I am just coming to the end? (Hopefully soon!) of my third cycle post mc. Pre mc I had a very regular 29 day cycle and my first two cycles post mc were 5 weeks long. I am currently on cd 31 awaiting the start of my fourth cycle. Pregnancy tests reading negative which absolutely kills me inside. Desperate for my cycles to go back to normal and give me some optimism that I will conceive again soon 😔

I had MMC in March 2020 4/18 I passed Everything naturally bleed for about a week or two. Then I had my period 5weeks later finally but it did stay longer than usual. Now I’m currently on my 2nd period but my cycle was l38days longer than normally 28/30 days. My period blood started as brown discharge & then second day was heavy slime like blood and still is on day 4 is this normal ? The blood is like mucous not should this be something to worry about? Will my period stay this long??

With my MMC I passed everything naturally too. I couldn’t help but think (when I wasn’t freaking about menopause) that maybe I hadn’t passed everything and that’s why everything was mucked up. I eventually returned to a normal cycle after a couple of months. I guess if you can see a doctor it might put your mind at ease?? I know for me, getting to see a doctor was almost impossible because everything was so restricted with the pandemic. I just waited it out and over thought everything. I have since had a positive test but I don’t feel at all pregnant like I usually would so I am thinking this Is possibly a MMC again and then I will start this whole thing again Sad.

I had a early miscarriage on first week of June and my first period on 25th June. My second period happened on 7th August. I have been bleeding straight for 8 days now. It's not that much heavy. Two days there was moderately heavy bleeding and rest of the days it's light bleeding with clots. I am so worried. Is it normal?

I had miscarriage at 16 weeks on 31st May should of been 21 weeks but baby had passed at 16 weeks periods came 6 weeks later lasted normal 5 days now second period is 7 days late ? Done pregnancy test which is negative just don’t know what’s wrong

Me too. I had a missed miscarriage on my 12 week scan. Heavy period about 6 weeks after my surgery. Now I am 11 days late (having been totally regular for year or so between coming off the pill and having the miscarriage). They say cycles can be disrupted for a few months following a miscarriage so i wasn't altogether surprised but chatted to doc anyway just in case.

She told me that grief and stress can cause the body not to ovulate and so it is possible to just "miss" a period. Alternatively it could be late. You always ovulate 2 weeks before the period so in a long cycle the delay is before the ovulation, not after. So it is worth continuing to "try" for those of us who would like to get pregnant again at this time. I feel like I've had pains since my period was due and I can't really understand why!

Hi I had a silent miscarriage in June I had my first period bk end of July now on to my second is it normal for it to still be heavy I'm a little worried as I've never had heavy periods before Hmm

Yep mine are heavier too. I read about it and it is normal for them to be a bit irregular and different to normal for a while. Some resources didn't say they went back to "normal" (as in your own personal normal!) But others did. Mine are heavier and further apart when I used to be totally regular. It is unhelpful!!

I had a late miscarriage at 20 weeks of my pregnancy , on June 24th .
Then I had my first period after almost 6 weeks on August 14th .
But since then now I am on my 34th day of cycle and still no sign of pregnancy. In between I am sometimes getting cramps like pain in my stomach and legs.
I had done urine pregnancy test at home, 3 times all the time it came negative.
I am not sure what is the cause for my delay in period, prior to my pregnancy I use to have my period regularly 30 cycle day.

Hi guys same boat here.. D&c for Mac June 11th... period 6 weeks later... 28 days after that I had second period and now.... day 42!!!!! Nothing the first two were very light and now... nothing!! Worried about scarring doctor keeps fobbing me off... wish could afford to go private!

I had a MC at 10 weeks in Sep. I had my first AF after 6 weeks. Now I'm waiting for my second AF, I am 2 days late & BFN. Usually I am a 29 day cycle. I'm really worried....

Hi all,
I had a missed miscarrage at week 10. Gof my first period 4 weeks later which seemed normal.
My 2nd period has arrived when it should but it is extremely light to thd point of hardly nothing much over the last 4 days. I'm really confused as to what's happened??????? I've done a pregnancy test which was negative

Hi everyone, I have been spending weeks searching for a forum like this. I had a miscarriage 8/9 and had 2 D&Cs (8/11 and 9/5). Got my period on 10/11 which seemed normal but now I’m about 4 days late and no sign of it. I felt like I had all the symptoms a couple weeks ago but now I feel nothing— now I wonder if it was just all in my head. I also had 2 negative tests. I know all I can do is wait but it’s so hard when I feel like I am ready to move on but my body isn’t. Anyone know how long it can take?!
