Seriously, has anybody who uses these come up with a method of removing the stick residue that’s left behind when you remove the patch ?

I’m only asking those who have used them because people who haven’t used them have no idea what a complete bugger it is to remove. I’ve scrubbed my arse red raw again today and still haven’t got it all off Confused

I use Nivea eye make up remover on a cotton pad, it's the only thing I've found that removes the sticky stuff. Can't remember why I thought I'd try it but it does work 🤔

Clearinguptheclutter · 01/11/2025 12:18

ha just been wondering exactly this!

Clinique “take the day off” plus a bit of pressure does the trick but mostly I scrat off with my nails
agree it’s a right pain

Baby oil and cotton wool after a hot shower.

I also find sticking a tegaderm dressing over the top stops most of the residue forming, and helps them stick better.

Utini · 01/11/2025 12:24

I've found the best way is to rub it with the sticky side of the patch that I've just taken off.

Phunkychicken · 01/11/2025 12:25

Last time I went for an aromatherapy massage she put orange oil in the blend and it all came right off, months worth! I joked she should patent the blend as nothing else worked

LattePatty · 01/11/2025 12:29

I used a ‘Korean Italy towel’ (a small exfoliating cloth). You can get them from Amazon. Does take some scrubbing in the shower though so depends how happy you are to scrub away! I used the patches on my bum as easier to hide there than thigh.

I didn’t mind the patches (apart from the scrubbing) but turned out they didn’t work for me unfortunately.

I do this too and works best

Ihopeyoudance · 01/11/2025 12:38

I rub on some facial oil when I remove the patch. I have a couple of random things I got in advent calendars that I wasn't using! I then just leave it and it tends to rub off naturally over the next day or so, or, if I remember, I rub it off easily the next day. This is so much easier than any other way I've tried.

GU24Mum · 01/11/2025 12:54

I bought a special spray which is useless so I use nail varnish remover.

wantmorenow · 01/11/2025 12:54

Baby oil. Now moved to lenzetto spray. Much prefer.

Jackiebrambles · 01/11/2025 12:56

Yes I use these, someone on here recommended them! Comes off very easily.

Baby oil and a flannel

macaroni234 · 01/11/2025 12:58

I tried using the sticky side as I’d read that before but that doesn’t work. An oily micellar water sees to work but mostly I scrape it off with my nail in the shower!

MrsMcGarry · 01/11/2025 13:05

After years of struggling with this I have found the solution! Microfibre make up removal cloths. I bought mine from primark I think. Comes of with just a couple of scrubs in the shower in a miraculous way. My DP is quite disappointed he can no longer play noughts and crosses on my arse!

Best way here as well. Tend to have to pull the skin tight and sometimes rub a little bit harder but always works.

thenewaveragebear1983 · 01/11/2025 13:11

I’m the same as @LattePatty, Korean scrubby mit and a little bit of shower oil or conditioner on it.

SheinIsShite · 01/11/2025 13:12

Anything oily will do the trick of loosening it.

MiddleAgedDread · 01/11/2025 13:13

Baby oil on a cotton wool pad

holjam · 01/11/2025 13:15

Baby oil on a cotton pad!

TrappedPotato · 01/11/2025 13:18

I put a clear tattoo patch thing over mine and now no longer get any residue (and it keeps the patch on more securely too, so win-win!).

Errolwasahero · 01/11/2025 13:25

I don’t understand. Is it the black line around what was the edge of the patch? Or are you all getting left with sticky residue under where the patch was?

I can’t say I’ve ever noticed it be an issue. I have baths, maybe that’s why?

thismummydrinksgin · 01/11/2025 13:25

I’ve learned to live with it 🤣

thismummydrinksgin · 01/11/2025 13:26

I have baths, scrub at it. I wonder if it’s because I wear. Iron pants rather than the shiny ones?

Zonkconk97 · 01/11/2025 13:36

Dove soap and a flannel.
