Has anyone felt better taking menopace?

You already asked this last week and had a long thread with replies.
Posters gave you lots of advice including trying HRT, I left you several links to medical info to try to reassure you of the benefits/ risks.
Have you read them now?
I don't think you're going to get any different info by asking again.

Youvebeenframed · 31/03/2025 08:13

It helped me
I tried lots of natural therapies and they all worked for about 3 months at a time.
Healthspan was my “go to” for products.
I tried Black Cohosh - worked brilliantly for flushes and night sweats; I went back to it after the cycle of the others.
Meno Serene, evening primrose, soy isoflavines, sage.
I tried HRT for one month and it made me feel awful - never went back and managed to get through with the help of these products.

I've read them thank you but I'm still very anxious about going on HRT. Since I became menopausal I have suffered from health anxiety and its really hard for me to make decisions x I hope you can understand.

The way to deal with that isn’t by asking the same question repeatedly, you will get broadly the same mixed bag of answers. You need to talk to your GP.

Yes I understand but my GP isn't much of a help and is against HRT. Infact I saw 2 different GP's and they were both not keen on starting me on HRT and they both explained that there were risks x

I posted a lot of information for you last week. I'm not sure you've read it?
The real issue is your anxiety.

Your GP has to explain the risks.
Whether they over-stated them none of us here know.
They also need to explain the benefits to your heart, bones , and a lower risk of bowel cancer.

You need to do your own research and come to your own decision, based on what you read from other menopause experts, more qualified than your GP.

There is no point asking again about Menopace. It's a mix of herbs and vitamins.
If you ask 100 women, 50 might say it was marvellous, 50 might say it did nothing. That still leaves you with not knowing how you will respond. It's not expensive so why not buy a month and try it?

What in particular are you worried about with HRT?
All we can do here is post the statistics for the benefits and risks (as available on the links to the Balance Menopause Library) then it's up to you to make your choice.

Do you have anyone in real life to talk to and help you with this? Friends, a partner?

Thank you. I don't have a partner but my daughter told me there was a huge risk if I went on it and what if I didn't get better, and then I would've risked my health x

Your daughter is misinformed.
Show her the links from the Balance Menopause Library and she can update herself with correct information - and read them yourself too.

SallyWD · 31/03/2025 16:19

I commented on your last post. Why don't you just try Menopace and see it it helps? It's completely harmless (mostly vitamins) and won't do any harm. If it helps, great. If it doesn't, you can consider HRT. Menopace helped me so much that I'm not currently considering HRT.

Hi,
Thank you for replying. I am taking menopace but it isn't helping me. I've been taking it for nearly 4 weeks now. It would have helped me by now wouldn't it? x

Thank you for your message. I did explain it to her briefly but she really put me off and was discouraging me to go on it. She started saying, what if it doesn't help you and causes you side effects and her saying all this really made me panic even more x
She said, your the only parent I've got and I don't want anything to happen to you x

For me it was a subtle and gradual improvement until I reached a point (maybe after two months or so) where I felt "Oh wow, I haven't had a panic attack or felt so anxious for ages now". It doesn't work for everyone though.

I think your daughter's being rather dramatic. You can try it and stop taking it if you have any bad effects.

I'm glad to hear that but its not really shown me any improvement as yet and I'm really struggling with the severe symptoms, anxiety and depression, weight gain and horrendous joint pain especially the hips. It's absolutely awful and it's not getting better no matter what I do and supplements are not working x

Then I would give HRT a try (if you're sure these feelings are related to hormonal changes).

RaraRachael · 01/04/2025 09:33

I've taken it for about 12 years and it helped me a lot. Recently had to stop due to being in hospital and didn't feel any different so will stop once this current box is finished

But millions of women take it and feel much better. You can try it and see? It's not like you're committed to take it for the rest of your life. It wouldn't be so widely available if it was dangerous.

Thank you so much for your message. Yes I do feel the symptoms are due to menopause as I've never suffered like this before. It's started to happen a year before my last period, and since then it's got worse and it's been 3 years. The symptoms are really debilitating and I can't live like this. I've got no joy, no desire in anything at all. I've even had to give up my full time job as I couldn't cope anymore and I've aways worked since the age of 15 and now I am 52 years old x

You're going round in circles.

I do understand you have a mental health issue and you say that you GP is trying to help with counselling and CBT. I hope you find a way through it all.

Good luck.

Thank you so much for your help and support 🙏 I don't know if that will ever happen. I've had CBT abd it hasn't made any difference. I've actually had it a few times x

HRT will help with your mental health because at the moment you're refusing to change how you think about it.

As @SallyWD said, why do millions of women use it?

Thank you for your message. I went to see my GP today and she said I've got a fatty liver. She said my Liver scan has detected it. I never had a fatty liver before and it all happened after my periods stopped and I became menopausal. I don't know if I can go on HRT now? x
