Ovestin cream

Hi. I’ve just been prescribed Ovestin cream by my gp for vaginal burning and soreness and urinary frequency which feels like a UTI. ((I did actually have a urine infection last month but that has cleared with antibiotics).
Whilst I’m hoping the Ovestin will help with me with the symptoms I’ve described above, I’m worried that it will make my bits swell up. Am I overthinking this?

Try alternate nights rather than twice a week. I believe you can use it every day. It’s a small amount of oestrogen that’s just absorbed where you put it. X

No swelling here. I had a horrible reaction to Vagifem pessaries (3 week long migrain where I could hardly see for some of it and St one point couldn't speak sence).
It is sometimes described as plumping the tissue of the pelvic area though, which maybe made you think of swelling. It plumps it in a good way and makes it all more robust. HRT itself made a big difference to my urinary urgency too.

I'm early days yet to start thinking about adding stuff, ovestin is the stronger of the 2. I've heard it can take some time for the tissues to become eostrogenized again so hoping it's just a time thing. Just curious about other people's journeys

Just started with Ovestin about a week and a half ago, for sore, burning, thin skin etc. Seems good, the vulva/labia already looks a bit plumper. But it burns and is feeling sore in the daytime after using the cream at night. I feel like the ovestin is causing it to be slightly worse and is maybe a bit strong. I will try to persist and hope it eases off.

That's very common and it will improve.

That is good to know. I assume the same applies for estroil cream as I couldn't get ovestin. I still feel the stinging and burning from the cream during the following day. On day 8 of loading and hoping it'll settle soon.
