I’m due to get radical hysterectomy but for medical reasons won’t be able to take HRT afterwards and due to the op will obviously be thrown straight in to menopause. Really scared to be honest about how I’ll cope with that

In response to your original question OP, my grandmother and my mother are good examples. Neither ever took HRT. My grandmother lived to 97 without dementia - had all her marbles and most of mine ;) My mum is in mid 70s and very healthy - wild swims several times per week, very active and a healthy weight. I was my grandmother's carer in her later years (she was visually impaired) and we spoke a lot Obviously in her day HRT was not on the table, but she didn;t have any heart problems or any osteoporosis.
I have tried HRT various and It seems to cause some weird mood issues for me along with bloating. I am going cold turkey at he moment. W are all going to get older and pass away and if I can do that in the healthiest way possible for me by maximising diet, sleep and exercise then happy days. I have stopped drinking alcohol since going into peri meno as it no longer agrees and causes joint aches. I am not anti-HRT like I say have tried it - but you were seeking those who had done a natural menopause successfully and both my grandmother (paternal) and mother have xx
