I went to the dr today and she didn't seem interested in my theory of early menopause they're still trying to push a pcos diagnosis on me but at least they're going to do blood test and scan. Don't know whether the blood test is for menopause though! Hate trying to get medical experts to listen properly.

Oh yes, I get that underskin tingly thing just before the wave of heat. I find if i am near enough to a tap and just neck as much water as possible as quickly as possible, it helps to shorten the panicky claustrophobic feeling that comes with it.

I have always been anti hrt , with no real reason to be....think will ask gp for blood tests when i go home. (Currently in uk on holiday)

I'm peri/heading into full meno at the mo - no periods for months, the RAGE, sweats, facial hair etc.

I read a theory that there is a tendency to earlier menopause now because women do far less physical activity (desk jobs, less manual housework), and we drink more - Wine anyone? Grin

So when talking to my slightly younger female friends yet I tend to deliberately mention that I'm having symptoms (I'm 44), just to let them know it's happening to me & might happen to them.

Two of my friends who are late thirties were horrified - thy thought it was guaranteed that it wouldn't happen till they were 50 plus. One hasn't started a family yet (& I know she wants to) - she had no idea her fertility would start dropping at her current age (38). Hopefully she'll be OK but I think there are many women out there that haven't a clue!

Kept track of periods for last 6 years. Used to be 27 days regular. They went odd slowly... batting between day 16 to gradually day 88. Now not had one for over 200 days. Had a period of night sweats a few months ago (horrid - hope never to be repeated - wouldn't wish on worst enemy). Been very anxious on occasion - especially with the night sweats (not me at all - usually calm and not anxious at all). Gained over a stone - often feel miserable/depressed/lacking enthusiasm for life - but not REALLY depressed. Doctor still not believes possible as I'm only 46. Still not got the hang of it really. And apparently need to go 2 years period free if under 50 to have officially gone through the one day known as menopause. Not as happy as used to be. Don't care about periods. Wish doctor would take seriously. Mainly fine though!

I really should see my Dr.

Periods have been errática for a few years

Tingling in hands - but that could be from tensión in my shoulder - which could be Plain old stress or a thing

Those lovely spots along my jaw are now post rather then pre period

Sleep problems could be adrenalina, or stress over money/selling house/DDs etc

Hair and nails are dry , but I live in a very dry climate

Can't judge by Mother's history as she was Weird. Periods stopped dead mid 30's but she had 3 moré DCs. Even the Drs were confused.

Hi
Have been having night sweats for years, literally soaked to the skin. They have eased off a bit over the summer though.
Pigmentation marks have appeared on my face & buggers have not gone away. ( thinking of having laser treatment to Zap them)
Oh & the jolly old periods... Sometimes every 14 days, sometimes 23 days.
Very often have period like pain. ( just randomly throughout the month)
Painful boobs, very tender & have gone up a cup size.
My weight has stayed the same, but there is this roll of lard around my middle, and on my back.
FFS my BMI is only 19.5, but my legs & arms are like twigs & the rest has just redistributed where the hell it wants to.

I get tired in the afternoon, and need to have more sleep.
I am 46, and very bored of my hormones. Not been to GP yet, think I might pay a visit. Oh yes & the heart palpitations freak me out.

I'm 49 and have just started experiencing erratic periods. I absolutely get the RAGE! I almost lost my nut at a doorbell yesterday. I was clumsy to begin with but appear to be droppier, I just cannot seem to hold on to anything. My cats follow me around just waiting for the veritable dinner shower to begin. Weirdly, I want sex more, but the quality of my orgasms have changed. The seem to be less intense. My sleep has never been good and is now horrific. I am lucky to manage two or three hours a night. I tend to self medicate for sleep and anxiety.

My mum did not complete her map use until she was 54.. That seems light years away!

I wonder what a doctor can do for you? I try to eat well and work out 4 times a week. I am in the US and don't know if HRT is an option here.

I keep getting a weird sleep disturbance thing lately. If I wake up in the night as I drift back off to sleep I feel dizzy and disorientated. I'm not sure if I'm awake or asleep but it makes me scared to go back to sleep. I'm wondering if it's all part of the general anxiety and panic I'm experiencing.

I sometimes shock myself at my RAGE - last week I was having problems with my internet (I can't be out of touch obviously) and the man I spoke to was much more interesting in trying to sell me a television package and wanted to discuss what my favourite programmes were! I completely lost it and really told him off - I was trying to fix my internet and all he wanted to do was talk about if I wanted to watch live football matches! The call went rather frosty after my outburst and then he passed me onto someone else who I could tell off Blush

Insomnia
Itchy skin
Tearful over nothing
Indecisive
Forgetful
Irritable
Aching joints

HRT has sorted all of those to some extent :-)

Anyone else having incredibly long periods. Currently on day 15 and it is still very heavy. Last two were long - 20 days or so, but fairly light. Only have a week or so period-free.

Quite a sudden change from a normal cycle - I'm 42.

I've got a coil that needs removing, but I don't want to risk returning to my old periods which were horrendous. But how will I know if my menopause has started? I suspect it has but how do I find out? My dm had a very early meno in her early 30s. I have some symptoms, I have lost the ability to remember anyone's names and I have had some night sweats. I've also noticed some massive mood swings from low to high with no rational trigger. I'm totally flummoxed. Grin
