I am feeling brave today and want to get out and meet some new people, are there any MN ladies in the Gloucester area who would like to meet up?

People still up for this tomorrow? We have a b'day party to go to 12-2pm but can get there soon after that if its still on?

silkcushion · 02/06/2009 11:54

Hi Pat - I can still make it but will need directions.

How can we attract attention of the others?

What if they've forgotten all about it?

Any tips for recognising people? Not done a meet-up before so not sure how it works! I'm guessing 4 women with buggies is a give away!

tvaerialmagpiebin · 02/06/2009 20:45

I have been to a meet-up before and just lurked about hopefully smiling at people with small children. Fortunately none of them rang social services.......

I have 5mth old VERY fat baby boy and a little blonde girl who's nearly 3 (will probably be covered in cake and party food).

tvaerialmagpiebin · 02/06/2009 20:54

I have a 2.8 little boy and I will probably have a potty in my hand

Excellent location for me - just around the corner.

I'll be very easily spotted - I'm the knackered one who looks like she might give birth at any minute. I'll also have dd aged 18 months with me

I take it we are talking about the PYO farm as soon as you come off the roundabout. had no idea it had other stuff there - great suggestion Sazzles.

I'll try and be there 2 - 2.15 as it'll be easy to spot me first - should save us wandering around asking people if they are called silly things.

Btw my actual name is Vivienne (might be less embarassing than asking if I'm silk)

Need to find Monkey now as she is the one who has just moved to the area.

Just looked for posts from her and she was on here this morning and afternoon so hopefully she's an early bird and will spot it then

bumping again for Monkey

Monkeyandbooba · 03/06/2009 09:25

Morning! Sorry I was looking for this thread

I am really, really sorry but I am going to have to take rain check today Really gutted as I wanted to meet everyone but I have got a few urgent issues that need sorting out...sigh...

Can you let me know when the next one is and I won't be in the general moving chaos?

silkcushion · 03/06/2009 09:30

oh well nevermind Monkey. How did the move go?

Imoverhere · 09/06/2009 19:29

Hello, did you all meet? Was it good or did you turn out to be scary? I couldn't come this time cause I was in sunny (and it was) Burnham On Sea at the lovely beach. Would have loved to gone to PYO with you all.

Are you meeting again soon?

PatTheHammer · 11/06/2009 08:49

Hi Imoverehere! Glad you had a good hols.
Yes, 4 of us did meet up at the PYO and it was lovely, everyone was really unscary and nice. A great place for kids and I thought the kids played very well together. In fact sazzles my DD was going on about E and L for about 2 days!!

There was talk of another suitable place for meet-up (think lanky suggested over farm or something) but I think we were going to wait until silk had produced her second silklet (Silk, hope you are still looking good for homebirth, any niggles yet???). Although, I may be wrong on this because we had to make a quick exit as the baby was a bit unsettled towards the end.

Perhaps if people start suggesting dates and stuff again something will sort itself out.

Imoverhere · 13/06/2009 21:34

Thanks Pat. I'll keep an eye on this thread and see if your meeting up again.

A good place I've taken mine is Magic Land in Cirencester - depends on the age of the kids, but if they are 3 or over the kids run around on all the slides and the mums get to drink coffee and talk. Also the Dick Whittington farm park in Longhope is good too.

I'm taking DD and Mother to Primrosee Vale soon - need some strawbs for jam making - glad to hear it is good.

Was wondering if anyone was up for a meet-up before the school holidays start?
