Hello everyone!!

I know there have been about 700000 million threads for Bath and Bristol, but everyone seems to have gone a bit quiet, so I took the liberty of starting yet another one!!! I think it's about time we sorted a meeting out, maybe we could sort something regular out so that people who can't make it the first time can come to subsequent meet ups etc. Any ideas?

Lots of love, Michelle and 12 week old Will xxx

Its good to know I'm not the only lonely one ! Sorry I could not come today but hope that it went well . I have not managed to get out of my dressing gown today either ! and Neighbours was rubbish ! Would be good to arrange another meet up in bristol soon.

MistressMary · 16/03/2005 17:59

How did it go?
Wish I cam but had a oppurtunity to join a mums club thingie today.

Hope there is another one soon.

sacha3taylor · 16/03/2005 19:10

We had a lovely time (well I did anyway - I might have boared everyone else to death!!!!!!) I had to leave a bit early but I think another one will be arranged soon. Hope to see everyone there

Helloo It was nice meeting you today, hope I didn't waffle on too much, I have a tendency to talk my head off when a bit nervous. Couldn't bear the thought of any awkward silences. could just imaging us all sitting there politely sipping tea whilst the wind whistles through blowing tumble weeds (if anyone used to watch shooting stars with Vic Reeves you will know what I mean)
Cellogirl...liked the sign..I missed neighbours what happened?

cellogirl · 16/03/2005 20:24

I had a good time today too. We must do it again very soon.

Neighbours was all a bit dull today really. Susan admitted to Lyn that she assisted her mother's suicide, Lana went back to Canada, Serena came to terms with her jealousy, Gus was the body found after the fire blah blah blah, dull dull dull.

Not missed much then...I think maybe they excelled themselves with the multiple disaster the other day and we just keep wanting more of the same, too much to expect them to keep that standard up I guess
I thought it was going to be firebug Luca who was the crispy.

lettuce · 17/03/2005 10:46

hello, did you have a good meet up? I was on my way to M+S when I got a call from school and had to pick up my dd because she was ill, so I'm really sorry I missed the meet up. I really hope there is going to be another one soon.

Lonelymum - I looked up that thread about older mums,it seems to have sort of fizzled out. Maybe we should start another one.In the meantime, if you would be interested in meeting up for a coffee just let me know, whereabouts are you by the way?

Lonelymum · 17/03/2005 11:04

Thornbury. But I am incredibly nervous about meeting new people so I might just lurk for a bit if you don't mind.

noma · 17/03/2005 14:21

Hello lettuce and lonelymum I think i am to blame for the older mums site been thinking no one was bothered and also giving birth to another child so have been busy wanted to come yesterday but got held up with other things hope to be out and about and at the next meet up

Lonelymum · 17/03/2005 19:06

What was the older mum thread called? can you do a link? I know I read it at the time and felt jealous as we had just decided against moving to Bristol, but now we are here, I feel I should make an effort. However, I would want to read the thread first.

cellogirl · 17/03/2005 19:18

You know that you are welcome to come to all of our meet ups. Shall we organise something for after the Easter hols, as I know a lot of you have kiddies at school.

Remember that you are only as old as the man you feel.........

Thanks cellogirl. I know it sounds patronising, but I am not sure I relate to young mums, not having started my family until I was in my 30s. perhaps I need to meet more?

Riebee · 17/03/2005 19:34

Lonelymum...I said in an earlier post that my ex was 11years older than me so most of my good friends are late 30's & 40's and we get on like a house on fire, my best friend has just turned 40 We think and act the samethinking about it I have very few close friends who are my own age. At the end of the day we have all got kids and have been/are going through the same experiences with them, we do have some common ground.

sacha3taylor · 17/03/2005 19:36

They say you are only as old as the woman or man you are feeling - That makes me 43

Lonelymum · 17/03/2005 19:40

I must say you all sound very nice. Perhaps one day soon I will have the courage to meet up?

sacha3taylor · 17/03/2005 19:42

Whereabouts in Bristol do you live, I used to live in knowle near Bedminster.

Lonelymum · 17/03/2005 19:43

Just moved to Thornbury, north of Bristol. City living didn't appeal.

sacha3taylor · 17/03/2005 19:45

Sorry, I have heard of it but can't picture on a map where it is. How old are your child/ren?

Lonelymum · 17/03/2005 19:47

Ds1 8, ds2 7, dd 5 at Easter, ds3 2. And you?

Lonelymum · 17/03/2005 19:48

Oh sorry, have scrolled down and found the answer: 3 and 10 months right?

sacha3taylor · 17/03/2005 19:50

Yes and a 5 year old boy, I probebly diddn't mention as he would have been at school for the meet up. By your name, are you a single mum?

Lonelymum · 17/03/2005 19:51

Nooooo!!!!!!! Just have a workaholic dh and no social life of my own.
