Just moved to worcester - don't know anyone, but would love to meet mums who don't think with their uterus (there ARE other topics of conversation although, I must admit, since having two children I can't for the life of me remember what any of them are...), love the odd (or even!) G&T and were perhaps wild childs before mother hood got the better of them.... Rachelx

The plan was to eat as well, wasn't it? Unless that's not what's wanted?

I might not be able to make it folks - just a prewarning. I've had tonsillitis all this week and recovery seems very slow. Will let you know for definite on the day.

Rats · 09/03/2005 18:06

It better be still on - Gumdrop and I have arranged lifts and everything. And that's a big one for me, as I rarely organise my own underpants let alone an outing (god, that's such a 50s word...). I think food is a good idea - but I'm not impartial to bypassing and going straight for the wine if that's what everyone else wants...

I'm on for this. Ailsa has organised our taxi, given that I'm now not driving . Really looking forward to it.

Socci, hope your DDs improve soon and you can make it to the next one

Hi, My name is Sue and I live in Lower Broadheath. I've got a 7 and a 5 year old who are both at school and I'm at home all day. Is there anyone who would like to e-mail for a chat or meet for coffee sometime?

Rats · 10/03/2005 16:45

absolutely - just CAT me ( see I'm getting the hang of this now!...)

Hi emmatom . Would you like to come to this night out, tomorrow ? I know it's prob short notice, but the offers there.

GeorginaA · 11/03/2005 08:35

I'm afraid I'm not going to be able to make it folks, sorry .

I'm still chain taking painkillers for my throat and I wouldn't be the best of company if I came. Feeling very low about how long this is taking to clear up, actually.

Gutted, I was really looking forward to this.

Have a great time all, but not too great a time because I'll get jealous .

NdP - can you make sure that Ailsa knows I'm not going so the taxi doesn't come via me, please? Ta.

NomDePlume · 11/03/2005 10:02

Georgina - No prob. I'm going to drive now, anyway . Let me know if there's anything I can do to aid recovery. xxxx

Thanks very much nondeplume. I would have loved to but my husband is on the late shift this time. I'd be interested in your next get together though. I take it if I keep an eye on this conversation, this is where you make the arrangements? Does anyone meet up for a day-time get together as well? Sue

emmatom · 11/03/2005 11:27

Whilst on this thingy, thought I might as well make the most of it and find out a bit more about what goes on! Have you all met up before? Would you mind a 'new' person joining in the natter? (I'm sure you've all been to those 'friendly' groups where you're made to feel about as welcome as a bad smell in a small space!) You sound a friendly bunch anyway.
Do you all work, are on career breaks, ladies who lunch, lazy sods like me who watch 'This Morning'? I had a career before my kids, but they co-incided with an injury that made me take a medical pension from my job so I'm normally around for a chat. Thanks for listening. If no-one posts anything else today, I hope you have a good evening. Have a drink for me, and I'll think of your heads tomorrow morning. Sue

NomDePlume · 11/03/2005 11:34

emmatom - I'm 22 (23 in a cpl of weeks), married with 3 kids. 2 boys (11 & 12), both from DH's 1st marriage, and a DD (2.5) who is biologically mine and DH's. Boys live with us 60% of the time.

I'm a SAHM, but will be starting college in Sept so I can go onto Uni to begin a Radiography degree

I've met Ailsa & GeorginaA through MN and they've become good friends of mine. I've also met Socci a few times, she is lovely too, but I can't seem to organise myself well enough for another playdate (sorry Socci!). Never met Rats or Gumdrop, I think both are relatively new to the area. All newcomers (or fresh blood) are welcome, gives me someone new to bore

I suspected it might be a bit short notice. Keep your eyes peeled on the meet-ups board for another Worcestershire meet-up, it probably won't be this particular thread.

Feel free to CAT me.

emmatom · 11/03/2005 13:54

Thanks again - you can cat me too, if only I knew what that meant!!! I love these abbreviations as well, one day I might understand them all. Please don't inform me yet, it's fun guessing what they may mean.
How are you planning to juggle the o' child care with the uni course? I've heard the colleges and uni's have very good creches for their students - is that your plan? I had all my working life BK (before kids, is that right?!!), except for about 4 months when I went back when my boy was a baby. I just could not leave the little man though - seperation anxiety set in so bad. I feel admiration for those mums who work and juggle kids, although I'm aware lots of ladies don't have a choice but neverthless have to do it. Sue

It was definitely fun, haven't laughed as much for a long time. Probably bored everyone pantless, but they'll know better than to say I can come next time

Rats · 12/03/2005 11:42

yes, lovely evening - although i do feel i have to apologise againn for my nappy-brain and my verging on the slightly hysterical due to sleep depravation... look forward to the next one - perhaps when off-duty with kids so we can have a nice bottle of red on the table and put the world to rights - and wrongs!

Hi to you to Socci. I'm glad the night out was a success. Was it the first time you had all met up? I didn't see any complaints of after effects, you must have all been very restrained!! Enjoy the rest of the weekend everyone.

NomDePlume · 12/03/2005 18:02

I was driving so thankfully there was no after effects this morning, given that DD woke us up at 6.30am with d&v and some creative uses for sudocrem . I'd say last night was a real success, it was great to meet the newbies and have a good laugh. Although as usual I have a sore throat due to my over-active voice , why just use one when you can use 20 ?!

emmatom · 16/03/2005 09:45

Where have you all gone. Friday night must have been sooo good. Are you all still paying the price?! Hope you are OK and out there somewhere.

Rats · 17/03/2005 20:36

Hi Emmatom
I'm not sure where everyone is - they've probably moved on to other threads now that the main aim of this one has been reached. Contact me please, by the way, as I work and parent from home and am always up for caffeine and distraction.
