Next meet up, Tuesday 4th September.
During the day, either Botanic Gardens in Durham or the Slug and Fiddle near the Gala Theatre in Durham City centre.

Now for some random chat.
DS sang a song about bolognaise today. And DD walked some more. But still prefers crawling and using my nipples as handholds on Mount Starbuck.

Is it too early for gin? Dd has managed to get my lipstick all over her brand new, only bought yesterday, been worn for approx 3 hours dress and my (white) bedsheets. I have pmt and a stinking cold. Ds 2 just wants to climb all over me. The house is a tip and all I can see are things that need fixing. Plus I promised boy 1 last week I would cook him any meal he picked. He wants a Chinese banquet. And chocolate brownie for pudding.

Oh and I now have three grey hairs surprised it's not more tbh

Indith · 17/02/2013 13:48

never too early fir gin. get takeaway. buy brownies. stick clothes in was and hope for the best.

spiffysquiffyspiggy · 17/02/2013 15:32

Sadly don't trust takeaway to be reliable when it comes to no peanuts so it has to be home made. And it's Nigel Slater's gooey choc brownie so bought just wouldn't be the sameGrin doing slightly better though- Child 3 in bed. Children 1 + 2 have been taken to safety in the garden by dh. So I can cook in peace and open the gin

Indith · 17/02/2013 17:23

ah yes, I'd trust the capital but nit many other places. we've been to small ionlyeatbeans birthday and met the mini bean eater. so big ones playing with party bag contents and small one asleep after not napping all day and gorging himself on party food. I need a bath later, recruited friends to take them swimming tomorrow and I look like a yeti. dh oh so helpfully pointed out that it wasn't just my legs. anyone want to help me give him a Brazilian?

OoohTrifle · 17/02/2013 19:12

Lol at torture waxing dhs'. The new Sunday night activity! Would choc brownies keep till after Lent (silly question - prob only crumbs left)? Have given up cake and biscuits in vain hope of losing half a stone from each bum cheek. Seem to have suddenly developed fondness for chocolate every day at 4pm instead.

spiffysquiffyspiggy · 17/02/2013 21:57

Cheeky begger! I've got a better plan. Giving him a Brazilian would be over fairly quickly. Instead we do the shopping plan but don't go back at the end of the day. Instead we book into a nice hotel and leave them to fend for themselves for the whole weekend.Grin

spiffysquiffyspiggy · 17/02/2013 22:00

Just chocolate at 4pm trifle? I require hourly transfusions of chocolate or gin to keep me goingGrin

spiffysquiffyspiggy · 18/02/2013 19:58

What time tomorrow Indith?

juneybean · 18/02/2013 21:05

No I totally agree half term is not good for cake!!

But I'll throw some dates at you but if any one has the inclination to travel to Newcastle I can provide other dates when I'm at work (discovery museum is good fun!)

1st March, 8th March, 15th March, 19th March

And if any one fancies a night out:

16th March, 23rd March

spiffysquiffyspiggy · 19/02/2013 07:54

Will have to check my diary at work for dates but Newcastle meet good for me, the kids love discovery museum.

juneybean · 19/02/2013 20:49

Oh and I'm going to Beamish on Thursday, message me on FB if any one wants my number to meet up!

Aworryingtrend · 19/02/2013 21:04

Hello! I came across this thread in active convos and thought I would say 'hi'. I live in Darlington and know Teesside well as thats where I work when not on maternity leave- DS is 4 months. I would definitely be up for a meet up in the local area.

Indith · 19/02/2013 21:36

hello, welcome Smile

soft play survived. children suitably tired. only pulled my pants up when I saw a baby no older than ds2 drinking a froot shoot Grin

just tomorrow to survive and we are over the half term hump.

juney I can probs do most if those dates.

LillethTheCat · 19/02/2013 22:49

Aworryingtrend I live near Darlington too if you fancy a meet up at some point? My DC3 is 17 months. (older 2 are at school).

VikingLady · 20/02/2013 08:18

I live in Darlington too, so can meet up if anyone is free!

KaraStarbuckThrace · 20/02/2013 08:25

I would be up for a meet up in Darlo. I don't know it very well, so where would people like to meet? My eldest is of school age so would be bringing 20mo.
Next week only day I could do is Friday but week after I could Monday, Wednesday or Friday.
Actually there is Adventure Point, have any of you Darlo folks been?

OP posts:
LillethTheCat · 20/02/2013 11:18

No Ive never been, but willing to go to experience new places. I can't do next Fri, but I can do Wed anytime or Fri afternoon the week after.

KaraStarbuckThrace · 20/02/2013 12:01

Shall we say Wednesday 6th at Adventure point?
It costs £5 per year to join and then it is £1 for under £1s, £5 for 1-3 year olds, £6 4+.
If we get there before 10:30, you get a free hot drink and juice and biscuit for your toddler.
On Wednesday they do a 1/2 Monkey Music session, no additional charge for this.
So I would suggest we could meet at 10am? I can't do afternoons as I have to pick up my son from school.

spiffysquiffyspiggy · 20/02/2013 13:02

Right, diary checked- Juney I can do the 19th March at the moment- waiting to find out if there is a meeting then. If you are in Newcastle on a Tues then can do the discovery museum. Could do night out either 16th or 23rd.

Indith- DH's revised days that he'll be free are Sun 3rd, Sat 9th, Sun 10th, Sat 16th, Sat 23rd and Sun 24th.

LillethTheCat · 20/02/2013 13:22

Sounds good to me Kara Mornings are better for me too TBH.

VikingLady · 20/02/2013 16:20

How have I never heard of it?! Sounds good to me.

KaraStarbuckThrace · 20/02/2013 17:18

Brilliant, Viking. I have some more non-pink baby clothes for V - mixture of 9/12 and 12/18mo. INcluding the cardi that goes with the top and leggings with the poppy ones.

Durham peeps are of course welcome to come too :)

LillethTheCat · 20/02/2013 20:31

Cake, cake someone mention cake mmmmmmmmmm

juneybean · 20/02/2013 20:56

Tues is the worst day for me work-wise (rhyme time and toddler group!)

But let's aim for Durham coffee on 19th March?
