I have promised my lovely DS's a trip over to Glasgow.......and told them we'd probably meet some of mummy's online friends......except I haven't arranged anything yet.

oh, and pb, stop showing off! Envy at Iceland!!

TheInvisibleManDidIt · 10/08/2010 16:27

Friday's fine by me.

toccatanfudge · 10/08/2010 20:22

Yes I can do Friday -

expat - I can still come through on Thursday to meet you if you want me to....

I don't mind where/when etc. Not too early as I have to get into Edinburgh (it's about 30 minutes from here to Waverly) and then over to Glasgow. But other than that - you lot live there - you tell me where to go and we'll be there Grin

Arrggh. I don't know if I can at all this week now. DH will know tomorrow if he will need to work split shift on Thursday. Sad

toccatanfudge · 10/08/2010 20:26

Friday is my only day off, but I'll probably have to spend it buying shoes and schoolbags unless the DC manage to organise themselves enough to do it earlier in the week.

I won't commit, but if you're meeting in the city centre, let me know where, and I might pop in for coffee if you all look friendly.

TheInvisibleManDidIt · 10/08/2010 21:27

All depends on weather- I'm not in the city, few miles outside and only really go in for shopping or the occasional museum trip. Maybe Weegiemum can suggest something.

Expat- would have been nice to meet you. Maybe we can all do a meet up another time. I work shifts so have missed previous meet-ups.(Other than meeting Giraffes who is soo lovely and has the most gorgeous dn)

prettybird · 11/08/2010 16:04

If it makes you feel better, we are here in business Grin (no, that is not a Wink)

Doesn't look like we will even have time to take ds on a whale watching trip :(. We managed to do sightseeing with him at the weekend, but since then he has had to sit quietly Hmm in the corner while we have our meetings!

toccatanfudge · 11/08/2010 21:02

tentative bump - are we at least still meeting on Friday those that are free??

OP posts:
TheInvisibleManDidIt · 11/08/2010 21:09

Hi- yup Fri fine. Just not sure what to suggest doing! There's kelvingrove museum which has a big park next to it if it's a nice day.

Or if theres anything you've seen that you fancy doing? I can get to anywhere.

toccatanfudge · 11/08/2010 21:15

tbh I~ haven't really looked - we tend to do lots of wandering and "oh that looks interesting lets drop in and have a look" Grin

Well there's also the science center it's great but it's quite pricey.

Um, I'm not really sure about a lot of places in the city center. As I said we really only go in for shopping Blush.

toccatanfudge · 11/08/2010 21:35

better plan somewhere fairly cheap I think - I'm still waiting for my PIN for one of my cards to arrive at my home, and my best friend (who thankfully has my spare key!) to pop in and find the relevant letter and ring me with the number so I can access the other half of my spending money......) I managed to block the card and had to order a new pin Blush

I'll stick a football in the car and if nice the boys can have a kick about in the park. Nice for a walk there too.

What time suits you?

Nevergoogle would be great if you could make it too.

Need someone more familiar with the city center to advise us where to go!!

The country parks I normally go to are all outside Glasgow. I'll fb giraffes- she may be able to suggest something!

giraffesCantDanceInBrokenHeels · 12/08/2010 17:22

Glasgow green, fab park. Theres the museum of modern at at royal exchange square not sure how good that is. wonder what weather is to be? I am working tomorrow - I have j7 and r5 both girls. Sofia is meant to be coming round to work for a wee party but claires got a job interbiow and sofs been poorly so not sure when etc. So its a possibility to pop along with girls. I was going to text you a few d\ys ago (cant rmeember what it was, nothing important) and realised i didnt have your number - I did though as was textin you before kg, maybe i didnt save it. can you give me it again please? x

giraffesCantDanceInBrokenHeels · 12/08/2010 17:23

Oh fuckety fuck that was meant to be the fb reply

giraffesCantDanceInBrokenHeels · 12/08/2010 17:29

KG is good. but parks a bit pish now that the castle things been taken away. Balls etc would be needed or get bored I think. As only slide, climbing, one swing and that train thing. Skate park to watch I suppose.

Other things is Toc is on public transport isnt she? If KG am happy to advise on this even if not coming, infact will pm her my number on fb - can she get on? And can be avaliavle for any lost directions etc. (within reason - am not promosing anything haha)

Might bring girlies then, depends if my niece if coming for a wee mini party or not.

TheInvisibleManDidIt · 12/08/2010 17:30

Lol! I've just answered you on fb before I saw this.

link for glasgow green

Actually it's dreadful that I live this close to Glasgow and have never been there! Had to google to check where it is. Blush

What time would suit everyone? I can make it as soon as I can drag the boys out of bed anytime.

giraffesCantDanceInBrokenHeels · 12/08/2010 17:37

If we were coming then would be late morning/lunch time (picnic lunch?)
