Generic - Green Bell Pepper, 35 g
Spinach - Raw, 50 g
Sainsbury's - Fresh Soured Cream, 70 ml
Sainsbury's - British Mince Beef, 150 G
Tesco - Mature Cheddar Grated Cheese, 30 g 0

I've only been following this diet for a few weeks.

I'm beginning to skip breakfast most days (intermittent fasting) as don't feel hungry. If I do have something it's either bullet proof coffee or Greek yogurt.

For lunch/brunch I'll either have a cold plate with cucumber, hard boiled egg, cheese, ham and avocado with mayo. Or if home sometimes an omelette with cheese and ham, scrambled eggs or eggs and bacon.

For dinner I'll have either steak, salmon, chicken, pork chops or sometimes sausages. I have these with a selection of green veg like broccoli, cabbage, baby spinach, sprouts or spring greens.
I pan fry most of my food in olive oil and butter.

DinaCaliente · 10/04/2019 13:45

I had home made tandoori chicken breasts last night, made a spinach and mushroom bhaji to go with it (basically a dry ish curry).

Tonight I'm having creamy lemon chicken with Courghetti.

Tomorrow I'm having a Brazilian fish stew.

I like mixing it up and trying new recipes and then just serving with nice veggies or a salad etc.

I don't bother with breakfast and for lunch I'll just have soup or ham and cheese and eggs or something easy like that.
I like to make the evening meal the star of the show.

TuppenceFaithfully · 10/04/2019 13:50

@TowandaForever How do you make the homemade coleslaw? Do you have an easy recipe by any chance? Smile

TowandaForever · 10/04/2019 19:42

@TuppenceFaithfully

I just chop red onion and red cabbage and cover with mayo! Sorry!

Batsypatsy · 10/04/2019 19:46

Just started low carb too. Don't want to be too strict, i.e will be flexible when out.

Today I had tomato and cheese omelette for breakfast, 95% meat sausages for lunch and chicken breast wrapped in bacon with lots of mixed veg for dinner.

prettyrobot · 14/04/2019 15:23

I usually have bulletproof coffee for breakfast (espresso whisked up with unsalted butter and mct oil), some form of eggs or a big bowl of Caesar or bresaola salad for lunch. I alternate between ketotarian recipes for dinner, as half of my family are vegetarian and meat based evening meals like Thai crispy minced pork in lettuce wraps or chilli without beans or chicken with low carb slaw or steak with broccoli.

chooco19 · 15/04/2019 20:19

Do you any of you count calories throughout the day ?

WeThreeKingsofOrientAre · 15/04/2019 20:27

Don’t Low Carb and also count calories. That makes no sense.

I'm thinking of trying a low carb diet but I can't stomach eggs for breakfast. And yogurt wouldn't fill me up at all.

What are the alternatives

NearlySchoolTimeAgain · 19/05/2019 13:00

chooco19 the Fast 800 diet is LC & calorie counting. But not ultra LC.

Yesterday - no breakfast, 3 boiled eggs with mayo for lunch, pork steaks and asparagus with Parmesan for dinner.

twinkledag · 02/06/2019 20:26

Can we revive this thread? I like low carb but find boot camp too restrictive. Anyone want to join me on here?

crispsahoy · 03/06/2019 22:03

I'm just starting low-carb from today. I know we won't be very strict, probably only mon-fri lunchtime and will allow treats.

Today we had: no breakfast. bacon avacado & poached egg! Then chicken in creamy white wine sauce with cauliflower rice & asparagus.

Need more breakfast/lunch ideas and possibly snacks. I had an apple today which not great but better than a family size bag of crisps!!!

twinkledag · 04/06/2019 22:35

Well done @crispsahoy. Yesterday I did well then ended up in the pub with work so low carb went out of window.

Goodish day today but have had a slice of pitta bread.

I really want to cut bread, rice, pasta and potatoes as that's a good bulk of cals and carbs gone.

twinkledag · 04/06/2019 22:39

Breakfast ideas - eggs, Greek yog and berries

Snacks - nuts, pork scratching?

crispsahoy · 05/06/2019 07:17

@twinkledag I'll be happy if can keep away from bread, pasta, rice & potatoes. Even just in the house.
Alcohol is a separate issue in our house!

DH has pork scratchings but I don't like them.

Yesterday was,
lunch large cheese & ham omelette
Dinner beef Bourguignon with broccoli rice.

Today's dinner is chicken satay probably with halloumi asparagus peppers n what ever else I think of.

Haven't decided on lunch yet x

BonAccordSpur · 05/06/2019 07:26

twinkledag · 05/06/2019 20:14

Bit crap today - I had porridge and a wrap which bumped the carbs right up!! I forgot to have breakfast at home so had a sachet of porridge at work.

Back to eggs tomorrow!

crispsahoy · 06/06/2019 07:43

Our lunch yesterday was a huge tuna salad.

Not sure on today's meals, I'm conscious of getting sick of eggs.
I'm thinking of crack chicken tonight but not sure.

twinkledag · 06/06/2019 16:29

Crack chicken? Sounds rather moreish 😁

crispsahoy · 06/06/2019 20:12

@twinkledag it certainly was. If you google it there's loads of recipes come up. It's basically chicken, cream cheese, some herbs & spices more cheese and some bacon!! We had some veggies and parsnip chips

gigi556 · 22/06/2019 20:41

Can I join in?

gigi556 · 22/06/2019 20:44

I'm planning to start Monday. No potatoes, no rice, no pasta, no bread. Probably have 1 cheat meal a week at the weekend. I did this in March/April and felt a lot healthier but went on holiday and haven't managed to get back on track!

crispsahoy · 23/06/2019 09:34

I've started a new job and fallen massively off the wagon. DH and I are going to try an egg fast from tomorrow.

Chillijamntuna · 05/07/2019 21:35
