Slimming World to Harcombe?

FourArms · 02/12/2013 11:30

I've been doing SW since 29/8. Initially on EE and now mainly on red days.

However although I've lost 1lb short of 2
stone I haven't lost any weight this week and I've stuck to the plan with the exception of maybe not enough syns / HEB.

Have seen the Harcombe diet and this seems to be more like what I'm doing at the moment although I'll have to swap coffee and skimmed milk for herbal tea and stop my 10 a day satsuma habit ;)

Just wondered what people's losses had been in phase 1 switching from SW? My BMI is still in the low 30s so I've got plenty to lose!

My boss has offered a reasonable fee and is coming out next week to value the property. Dh not happy Hmm

kazzawazzawoo · 10/02/2014 20:14

B: bacon and eggs
L: chicken soup, baked salmon, cucumber, mayo
D: lamb curry, cauliflower
S: dark choc!

Notsurehowthathappened · 10/02/2014 22:02

Well done Kazz

First step to taking control !!

FourArms · 11/02/2014 06:59

Wow! Seems like a positive move :)

Most of our rooms are magnolia so I went round a few weeks ago and painted all the dirty walls. Really brightened things up :)

Good luck!

Theme park was cold but fun. Managed a couple of outdoor stints and lots of soft play.

Funny day food wise whilst there - dinner on the move was McDs salad & pork scratchings. Then had run out of salad yesterday so had tuna mayo with a side salad and a small tub of olives and a pot of NLY to bulk the meal up.

Was down slightly yesterday, will see what the scales verdict will be today shortly.....

Sounds like good choices FourArms Smile

Notsurehowthathappened · 11/02/2014 10:40

You did well FA, I would have pigged out on ice cream and chips.

I would love to know where you get your will power from. It makes me feel weak in comparison.

I agree about the neutral colours, paint out the dirty mark ethos. I am not a great lover of Magnolia but keep mine boring according to DD Cream for the same reason.

kazzawazzawoo · 11/02/2014 14:19

I bought a Magic Eraser by JML from Wilkinsons yesterday and have been scrubbing the walls today, they look a lot better, maybe I can get away without having to paint. Wish I could disguise the carpet where the cats have attacked it, but it's on the stairs and in bedroom doorways Hmm

Notsurehowthathappened · 11/02/2014 16:07

I think that Magic Eraser is fab !!

Could you put wider wooden strips down on the Bedroom thresholds kazz? I use them instead of metal dividing strips because I think they look much better.

What about a carpet runner for the stairs?

kazzawazzawoo · 11/02/2014 17:53

Thanks NotSure Smile Any idea where I would get really wide ones? And can I buy runners at Homebase? At the moment the stairs are fully carpeted, would I need to paint them if I put runners on?

FourArms · 11/02/2014 20:11

Thanks ladies. I don't know where my willpower comes from, I think I'm just on enough of a roll that I want to keep going. :)

I do sometimes 'cheat' in that I'll have a 4th 'meal' in a day. I'm pretty much on P1 though - I had some berries last Tue and half a slice of cheese today. Other than that the only none P1 thing I have daily is milk.

Up 0.8lb today, maybe the olives? TOTM due any day so could also be that?

Glad the magic sponge is working Kazza :) Good luck with trying to sort your carpets!

Fourarms, it's probably hormonal fluctuation.

B: bacon and eggs
L: baked salmon, salami and cheese
D: swede and bolognese sauce

Notsurehowthathappened · 12/02/2014 09:55

Kazz google Stair Runners.

There are some really lovely ones available ranging from a few pounds to hundreds. I have just found a lovely Sisal one on EBay for £32.

I am not sure if you would have to paint, it depends on what is underneath your carpet. However, I guess you might need to paint the stair edges.

My wooden thresholds were made by a local Carpenter and cost me a fiver each.

Notsurehowthathappened · 12/02/2014 09:58

I am amazed you have managed to stick to P1 FA. Whatever you say that is willpower !!

Don't worry about the slight gain. It says somewhere on Zoe's sight that you can fluctuate by several pounds in a day. However, it probably is the Olives.

kazzawazzawoo · 12/02/2014 10:47

Thanks NotSure Smile I'll have a look when I get in from work. I found a runner on Amazon for £44 that would probably be long enough but not sure how we would fix it, dh no good at DIY.

Notsurehowthathappened · 12/02/2014 12:47

Come on Kazz, you are one of the new breed of strong independent women Smile

Since DH died I have learned that nothing is impossible and that Google knows everything!!

kazzawazzawoo · 12/02/2014 16:15

Notsure, I do all the decorating anyway! But refuse to use a drill - he has to be good for something!! Shock

I've found a wooden threshold, nice and wide for £7 in Wilkinsons, I'm going to try and fit that tonight.

I need to measure how wide the stairs are, the stair runner I found was 60 or 70 wide.

kazzawazzawoo · 12/02/2014 16:24

NotSure, all the ones I can find on eBay are about £20 to £30 or so per metre and I'll need a few metres to cover 13 steps. Could you pm me a link to the one you bought so I know more or less what I'm looking for. Thanks Smile

Notsurehowthathappened · 12/02/2014 17:24

Kazz the one I found (I wasn't buying, just looking) is gone but there are loads on there. Some are priced per Metre but others are priced for the whole length.

The searches I did were for 'Stair Runner', 'Sisal Stair Runner' and 'Choir Stair Runner'. Another good place to check would be Gumtree.

kazzawazzawoo · 12/02/2014 17:58

Thanks. All the ones I found were per metre or very expensive. I've found one on amazon a bit cheaper, going to look at the stairs now.

Sorry for hijacking the thread Hmm

Notsurehowthathappened · 12/02/2014 19:02

Well done Kazz, keeping my fingers crossed that the transformation pays off !!

kazzawazzawoo · 12/02/2014 19:17

Thanks Smile

Notsurehowthathappened · 13/02/2014 20:21

Not a great day today. No power untill 6pm, so DD resorted to Fish & Chips. I was too cold, weak & feeble to refuse.

You never realise how much you rely on Electricity until it dissapears !

kazzawazzawoo · 13/02/2014 21:04

Sorry to hear that Hmm There were power cuts around here last night, but we were lucky.

B: bacon and egg
L: Mediterranean veg, salami
D: gammon, fried egg, swede, braised leeks

A lot of processed meat Hmm

Today we went to a little local carpet shop and they are going to fit new carpet on our stairs for £100. Quite happy with that.

Have been busy decluttering and selling stuff today and tidying and cleaning Smile

Notsurehowthathappened · 13/02/2014 21:56

Wow Kazz. Go girl !!!

Now think of this next stage in your life as an Adventure, rather than a problem to be solved.

RosinaCopper · 15/02/2014 07:05

I'm so pleased to have found this thread! Please can I join? I bought the 30 day blitz this week and intended to start today, but a bad night with the dcs has had me reaching for the coffee kick start already!

I'm heavier than I've ever been in my life and sick of feeling rubbish when I go out and can't find anything to wear.

So today is day 1 of Phase 1
