Morning all!

A definite autumnal chill in the air this morning, so feels like a good 'back to school' time.

Shortly I'll post a link to the shiny, new spreadsheet, and you can (if you wish - it's not mandatory) add your weight. You can add your actual weight or index it, if you prefer - i.e. your starting weight is 100 and for every pound you lose, you subtract one point.

A few notes about weighing:

  • it's up to you how frequently you weigh; some people prefer to weigh only once a week, whereas others feel that daily weighing helps them to stay on track
  • if you weigh daily, it's up to you which weight you record on the spreadsheet. You can record the weight you start with each Monday (or which ever weekly day you've chosen), or you can record the lowest weight for that week, or you average your weight and record that. Which ever option you choose, keep that consistent so that you can track your progress
  • always weigh first thing in the morning, naked and after you've been to the loo. There's no point weighing later in the day as all you will be doing is weighing yourself plus whatever you've eaten/drunk
: Hopefully you've all had a chance to think about meals/cooking for the week, and your fridge/freezer/cupboards are now stocked with stuff you can make into low carb meals.

Avocado for breakfast. Cheese salad for lunch (and I've made a big batch of coleslaw to last for several days, with chopped ham and mushrooms). Lovely dinner of garlic prawns in butter and olive oil served with a heap of broccoli, cabbage and cavolo nero - best thing is there's a portion left for my brunch tomorrow.

SprinklesofRain · 10/10/2026 20:13

B- FFGY and cream
L- two eggs, bacon, mushroom, tomato
D - beef meatballs and air-fried crispy kale
snacks - a couple of pieces of cheese and a small peperami. I need to cut back on snacking.

Haven't drunk enough water today either, it's easy at work when it's on my desk but I forget at home

StuntNun · 11/10/2026 06:49

Yesterday’s food:
B: FFGY with a little bit of double cream.
L: poached eggs served on a bed of roasted courgette, pepper and red onion plus half an avocado.
D: baked lamb shank with roasted asparagus and a few roasted cherry tomatoes.

We had a family movie night last night and I had two cups of herbal tea while my DH drank beer and my kids ate Doritos, the big meanies! Next time, I’ll buy posh flavoured fizzy water and some fancy olives so I can have a treat too.

@Treesnthings - welcome! I've added you to the spreadsheet

Hi
Please can I join and can I be added to the spreadsheet, I was away last week.
I’ve done this before but I have slipped back into some more lazy/carby habits and have slowly seen my weight go up.

Here’s to a successful bootcamp

BIWI · 11/10/2026 14:58

Added you!

Hi - please can I join and be added to the spreadsheet? I’ve just stumbled across this thread and have not done this boot camp before, where do we find a link to the spreadsheet? 🤪

Jumperorcardi · 11/10/2026 19:38

Thank you for adding me @BIWI

Have done mostly really well this week and seen a good early loss but suspect I may have scuppered my weekly weigh in today. Friends big birthday today - I ate within the rules but had some alcohol free larger and coconut water. Not awful but not great and probably not enough water today either. Back on strict strict tomorrow and see what this week brings.

Good morning everyone. I am in bed with my coffee and cream and congratulating myself on having week one over. Saturday was green smoothie as usual for breakfast with a boiled egg and lunch was left over tuna in tomato sauce with konjac noodles and a chicken drumstick with courgettes in evoo. Sounds a bit of a mad pairing but the leftovers were a small portion and the chicken was in the fridge. 😁 Saturday evening is pizza night in our house and someone earlier in the thread (apologies I can't remember who) had made a chicken base pizza. I had some minced turkey so thought I might try it. My Italian dh and pizza purist said it would never work but it did and he had to admit it was delicious. So thank you. I followed it with a little FFGY and some psyllium husk.

One of the things I find hardest when doing strict BC is not having my morning slice of bread with a cup of tea. Yesterday I really craved something so I whipped an egg with about 30gr of cream cheese, added a splash of vanilla and cinnamon and made a pancake cooked on butter. It was surprisingly good and hit the spot for breakfast along with some avocado and a mini cucumber.

Lunch was anchovies in olive oil, a fried egg and some stor fries greens. For dinner I had chicken breast cooked in olive oil l, splash of white wine. A few minutes before it is fully cooked i add butter and fresh ssge. It is delicious and a staple of our house. I had mine with buttered kale and broccoli. Then I had a small portion of yogurt with psyllium.

All in all I'm happy with week one. I find getting three litres of water in every day is hard. Some days I am hitting it but not everyday but am aiming to improve that this week. I am also finding that I am quite constipated - this is more likely due to my pain meds and why I have included psyllium this week. I am finding it hard not being active. Walking in my boot is challenging and the uneven gait causes back pain and hip pain. I am ready for my surgery and fingers crossed they call me soon.

I will weigh in late - fingers crossed for a decent result. I hope everyone has a great day and you get the results you are happy with.

3lbs off this week, hurray!

what’s everyone’s favourite low carb breakfasts? I used to just take a banana to work, but even when not in bootcamp they are so carb heavy. I need something portable and not messy

SprinklesofRain · Yesterday 07:42

3lb off for me too, pleased with that as the week included two meals out and I always find weekends hard (out of routine, forget to drink water, other people making toast in the kitchen) and often find Fri my lowest weight of the week not Monday.

@staytoxic I’ve just been having FFGY mixed with double cream, once we are on BD Lite I will add some seeds and berries. I normally put it all in a jam jar and take it to work. My system is - soak chia seeds in kefir for a while in the bottom of the jar, then add FFGY, frozen berries, milled flax seed, a few whole seeds and nuts. I can’t face eggs first thing.

Thanks I usually have the yoghurt with lunch. For some reason it never sits right for breakfast! But like you I also can’t face eggs first thing before I leave for work

Shells · Yesterday 08:28

I'm pleased with week one, but when I've done this before, after week two I tend to plateau for AGES so its hard to keep motivated. Making the most of this weight loss window.

StuntNun · Yesterday 08:45

@staytoxic I have a low carb cheese muffin recipe that’s perfect for breakfasts, especially split and toasted then buttered. The recipe contains ground almonds so it isn’t suitable for strict Bootcamp but you would be able to have it next week when we move into Bootcamp Light and nuts can be introduced.

Almahart · Yesterday 08:46

Hallo! I started on Tuesday but haven't been able to get onto mumsnet. Had a good week, but drank a lot at a big birthday party on Saturday night, so have put a couple of pounds back on.

@FinallyHere is it okay for me to add myself to the spreadsheet? Or better for you to do it?

WinterfellsStarbucksConcession · Yesterday 15:35

4lb down this morning and very happy with that. However I think I was weighing particularly heavy last Monday so probably 4lb is an exaggeration of weight lost, but I’ll take it as a win!
This coming week will be more challenging with a lunch out and a Birthday Do Saturday night.
This past week however I’ve done better than expected sticking to the Bootcamp diet, but I am struggling to drink the requisite liquid daily.
Also eaten more celeriac in the past week than I have in the rest of my life put together and finding it an acceptable substitute for potatoes 👍
