If you've changed name for bootcamp, remember to post using your changed name!

Well, we've all survived week 1 and hopefully everyone is back in the groove. There has been some great progress and people have navigated the challenges of real life.

Here's the spreadsheet link to spreadsheet If you don't want to be on the spreadsheet, let @FinallyHere know and your name can be removed.

Here's to another good week of delicious food and healthy losses.

Thanks @Just4Junefor the new thread and spreadsheet link. Very pleased with 1.4lb loss for this week (total 10lbs since I started in May). Looking forward to seeing how people have got on this week and good luck for the week ahead. I’m really going to focus on water as this seems strongly linked to whether I see a loss or hang on to the weight. Have a good week everyone!

Just4June · 08/06/2025 10:51

Good progress @lastchancesalmon I'm similar with 1.3lbs off.

Just caught up with the previous thread, some lovely posts 50FootWave RockyRogue1001 YourFairCyanReader well done!

The chicken meatball recipe looks lovely. I wrote to Tesco magazine a couple of times complaining about their recipies, they used to be all low fat products (still tend to do that) and lots of 'fake' meat replacement; not much that was properly vegetarian and certainly nothing low carb. I never heard back from them but I have noticed a change in the last few months and there have been some good recipes recently.

TheOnlyMrsW what a great NSV (non scale victory) that you jeans fit - lovely photos.

ClearQueen123 reflux is horrible (fortunately mine is managed on a low dose of medication and taking it every 2nd day is fine for me) hope your investigations get things sorted.

I'm involved in a 24hr event (part of a team so I don't have to be awake all 24 hours) which will have me walking for 5.5 hours both today and tomorrow. Food planning is OK but I will be doing less well on the water because there's limited access to toilets for some of that.

B - scrambled egg, lovely crispy bacon, mushrooms, tomatoes and coffee with cream: that will set me up for my first 3hrs of walking!
L - avocado and crudities with blue cheese dip
D - M&S chicken salad - again
And some ffgy and another avocado for the wee small hours, if I need sustenance.

Naked Chicken Kebab Salad | M&S

Our Naked Chicken Kebab Salad is made with seared British chicken breast pieces in a lemon and herb marinade, alongside cauliflower couscous, vinegar-infused cabbage, peppers, spinach and tomatoes. It's served with a pot of creamy tahini yogurt dressin...

That's amazing, @lastchancesalmon - 10 pounds since May! What an achievement. I'm on 3l of water a day (all before 12pm), and I now believe it makes a difference with loss.

Thanks, @Just4June - I'm so pleased.

Hopefully Tesco have indeed taken note! And I hope your event goes ok. I'll be the same with water on Tuesday, but it's part of the long game, all of this. We can't be 100% on it every day, but something is always better than nothing!

I have 5 stone to lose, and I know from previous experience it doesn't really show until 3 stone, so a long way to go yet.

Happy Sunday everyone.

RockyRogue1001 · 08/06/2025 11:47

With you on the water @50FootWave

Good luck for next week, everyone

Thanks for the new thread @Just4June

CleanQueen123 · 08/06/2025 12:21

Final slice of aubergine lasagne for lunch. I get the feeling that it might become a low carb staple for me.

Roast pork planned for dinner. Not sure what to have with it yet but I've got two heads of cauliflower and broccoli that need using.

CrystalTits · 08/06/2025 14:18

Thank you for the new thread @Just4June

Feeling a bit bloated at the end of week 1, oddly enough, but am going to have even more water today and koko for next week.

Roast pork for dinner here too @CleanQueen123, I’m planning lots of greens plus either some of the celeriac dauphinoise I surprisingly could be arsed to make last night or swede mash. Will also attempt the IPD moussaka to keep me going through the week. Hols next weekend so routine and repetition keeps me on the straight and narrow in the meantime as it means I don’t have to think too much about the menu.

So inspiring to see results coming in and NSVs already. Thanks all for sharing.

Rayna37 · 08/06/2025 16:00

Well I’d lost 5lbs during the course of last week but a long day out to London took its toll. Great day though! DH away for most of this week which may help my focus. Bought an obscene amount of heavily reduced meat for the freezer at Sainsburys today, clearly the weather stopped the BBQs they’d anticipated!

Rayna37 · 08/06/2025 16:10

@Just4Junethe race was fab, really fun, didn’t disgrace myself but the last 5 years have been very aging- motherhood and I think more importantly turning 40 really is a tipping point. Was horrified at the (never flattering) photos, I look like my gran- the arms, the knees Confused. Or rather my Mum, who’s now significantly older than either grandmother got to see. Hopefully this will motivate me to knuckle down on the middle aged spread. In regards to fuel, I’ve always run fasted for anything under a half marathon generally (which was a one time never again thing). We’ve been a (clearly not particularly strict, but as a basic principle) LCHF household for well over a decade. Maybe porridge or eggs if a big race later in the day, but my porridge is lower carb (seeds, ground almonds, oat bran etc) anyway. No very useful advice!

50FootWave · 08/06/2025 16:52

Another messy meal, but look at all the veg!!!!

Peppers stuffed with bolognese (my staple at the mo), with feta and a mahoosive salad with homemade pesto and chilli oil.

Made extra for taking tomorrow for lunch.

Thank you for the new thread @Just4June As a long term boot camper who has an uncomfortable relationship with scales, I had been weighing myself monthly just to check I’m on track.

using this bootcamp to try out daily weighing and it’s bed. ok so far. None of the urge to over eat over I’ve lost and if I’ve gained so far

but

whheee it’s been down about four pounds to take me back into ‘normal’ BMI territory.

My target is to drift down into the mid-BMI range rather than sitting at the top with absolutely no wiggle room.

three birthday celebration related indiscretions did it last month so here we are.

mu next challenge is to navigate the inevitable ups as well as downs hit committ to daily weighing throughout this bootcamp. KOKO

CleanQueen123 · 09/06/2025 06:31

5lbs down for me this week 🥳 hopefully my goal of a stone by this time next month is achievable.

50FootWave · 09/06/2025 06:35

Congratulations @CleanQueen123 and @FinallyHere 💐

FinallyHere · 09/06/2025 07:08

Thank you @50FootWave

im curiously reluctant to brake the scales this morning. Always expect it to be ‘bad news’ and feel elated anytime it’s not. 😎

JumpingintoJune · 09/06/2025 07:19

I’m down a pound , but as I didn’t start til last Wednesday , I’m pleased with that I think there’s 10 weeks until my nieces wedding , so even Lodi none pound a week will be fine
A very disappointing Tesco meal deal dinner last night , the roast belly pork looked ( and tasted ) like a tough overcooked fatty chop , DH is a low fat obsessor , do he had a small amount of pork and I had the crackling and some fatty bits ( at least DH liked the chocolate cheesecake , strange how the low fat rules changed for that
luckily, I don’t like cheesecake , so wasn’t tempted !

Well done to the big losers , in the nicest possible way , calling someone a big loser sounds a little unkind , but here it’s a compliment

Goodiewhemper · 09/06/2025 14:50

Some great results. Well done everyone. I am down exactly 2kg to 78.9kg so that is a 4.2lb loss. I am happy with that. I didn't get to exercise at all yesterday and didn't get anywhere near my water targets the past few days so I need to improve on that this week. It will be a participatly challenging one as we are on the midst of final state exams in my house and I have an interview for an internal promotion on Wednesday!

Breakfast today was a green (avocado, cucumber, spinach etc) smoothie and a small portion of FFGY. I have just had lunch which was a two duck egg omelette with mushrooms and parmesan cheese. Dinner this evening is spaghetti bolognaise for the family but I will have my bolognaise served as a stuffed pepper.

Goodiewhemper · 09/06/2025 14:50

particularly challenging 😳

Just4June · 09/06/2025 15:00

@FinallyHere It's a strange thing with scales. I sometimes wake up feeling a bit leaner, have a massive wee, and expect some good new on the scales, only to be disappointed by a small gain (not a real gain, but a fluctuation that has gone upwards). Other times it's the opposite. The learning for me is not to react by changing what I eat (unless there's a long-term stall or long-term upward movement), but rather to trust the rules, remember to drink plenty of water, and believe that progress will come.

Eating has been a bit all over the place for the last couple of days, but I've been walking for 9 hours out of the last 24 Shock Stopped for a lovely breakfast this morning - eggs, sausage, tomato, great mushrooms, but I did have a quarter slice of bread, as I was feeling a bit light headed after all the very unacustomed excercise.

I expect the lack of sleep, not drinking enough water (not always convenient places to pee), and the recovering muscles will not show favourably on the scales over the next couple of days, but hopefully will be better towards the end of the week.

Thankfully my busy social period has come to an end and I'm more in control of what I'm eating this week. There will be one meal at a friend's but she has diabetes and on the avice of her doctor / health team is following a lchf diet.

Food today:
B - sausage, egg, tomatoes, mushrooms and a quarter slice of toast
L - a sleep to catch up and a lot of water to rehydrate
D - green veg soup; cheese and tomato omelette

Some great results already Smile

Good news is that I’m down 2lb from last week: 12st 6lb. Smile I might even manage my challenging target for the month, which is to get under 12st Grin. Challenging only because my “whoosh” will have happened before the Boot Camp started properly Hmm

Had pork loin medallions fried in butter and then cream bubbled through to finish off last night. Served with buttery sliced shoogled white cabbage.

Tonight I’m making shashushka.

I’m still enjoying my glasses of sparkling strawberry water (and finishing the day by eating the sliced strawberry). It’s really helping me either my water intake.

CleanQueen123 · 09/06/2025 18:52

Pork and leftover veg for lunch and pork and different veg for dinner! Probably pork and veg in another way for dinner tomorrow night too. Any recommendations welcome!

Jollyholibobs · 09/06/2025 19:38

Well done all the losers. I’m 2lbs down and happy with that.

lastchancesalmon · 09/06/2025 22:20

Some amazing results, well done everyone.
B creamy coffee
L ham, salad, coleslaw -seems like Mondays are pasta days at my new school
D - curry night: Butter chicken & saag paneer. I really wanted rice or naan with it so I tried cauliflower rice for the first time (I’ve had it before but in a recipe, not as a carb sub side dish) - and I really enjoyed it. It was a little frozen micro bag portion.
Didn't manage all the water despite the bigger bottle, must try harder.

ChocolateGanache · 10/06/2025 07:14

Oh it’s back!! 👏
Please can you add me @FinallyHere💛

FinallyHere · 10/06/2025 07:18

welcome back @ChocolateGanache Ive added you OK

FinallyHere · 10/06/2025 07:29

thank you @Just4June its very good to be reminded

"The learning for me is not to react by changing what I eat (unless there's a long-term stall or long-term upward movement), but rather to trust the rules, remember to drink plenty of water, and believe that progress will come."

So far, the first week has been OK though I have not lost that tiny bit of dread as i hop on the scales every morning. So far the pattern beyond an initial woosh seems to be three days flat followed by a (tiny) drop: 5 grammes down today which is probably the effect of a single raindrop on my cheek :-)

The real test for me will be when it fluctuates up again and my intention is absolutely to stick with bootcamp including all.the.water , trust to the process and learn to ride the fluctuations without any influence on my mood. Im sure for lots of people this is a trivial part of the process, for me, trivial? not so much

I'm very glad of the company of sympathetic bootcampers
