Summer 23 Boot Camp, Week 6: beyond the doldrums

prettybird · 24/07/2023 08:10

Here we are at Week 6 already, the one where - ideally - you get beyond the Weeks 3, 4 and 5 doldrums Grin. And if, for whatever recent, you're not, then KOKO, drink all the water and maybe post what you've been eating so we can see if there is anything you can tweak. We're all here both to support and be supported. Smile

@FinallyHere will be along shortly to post the link to the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness. It truly is fabulous to see the results coming in Smile

There are a few newbies who have either only started recently or only recently de-lurked. Welcome Flowers . We're a friendly bunch and as long as you follow the Rules you'll see the Results Wink And if you're not seeing the results that you'd like, then post what you've been eating on here and ask advice.

Remember, as with any healthy diet, weight loss will stabilise (after the initial whoosh) at an average of 1-2lb a week.

Hope you feel better soon @prettybird
Don't worry about us - we've been fine Smile

Your dad Prettybird. UTIs are awful. Hope he is well on the way to recovery. Sorry to hear that you are now unwell too. Hope it will pass really soon..

HappiDaze · 31/07/2023 00:17

I wondered where you'd been @prettybird

UTIs can be dreadful. I hope you both feel better soon

venusandmars · 31/07/2023 07:57

@prettybird hope your Dad is on the mend, you must be glad you live so close and can help him out. And fingers crossed that you are also feeling better soon.

We can carry on here until you are well enough to put up a new thread, no need to rush.

I'm feeling a little under the weather myself, but it is entirely self inflicted Blush Fortunately it's a quiet day.

B - coffee with cream (I think I'll need the caffeine hit)
L - ham salad
D - left-over cassoulet with cabbage and fennel

LadyBird1973 · 31/07/2023 08:02

Weighed this morning. Absolutely no loss at all this week.
But I have been away for the weekend and although I was careful not to overeat, the water intake has been very low and I think in the restaurant the cream in the coffees was sweetened and it was hard to totally avoid carbs/sugar. So I guess it's good that I didn't get it weight on still mad though!

venusandmars · 31/07/2023 08:08

I've stayed the same, but now that my weekend of birthday celebrations is over I'm on strict bootcamp for the next 2 weeks with a clear aim of getting within the normal BMI range. It should be possible and will give me a massive boost.

And I'll be keeping on going after the 8 weeks. I'm going on holiday in September with my dsis. All my family are tiny and very slender, and my dsis is particularly scrawny. I want to be able to enjoy looking back on photos of our time together, not be either dodging the camera or only able to see my fat face and double chins!

ItsAsIfWeWereThere · 31/07/2023 08:15

I hope you and your dad are both on the mend @prettybird.

I’m 1 3/4lb down this week which I’m very happy with. Im just under 3lb off my next target now which I’d like to reach by early September.

Todays menu:
B coffee(s) and cream
L Coronation chicken and Green beans
D meatballs in tomato sauce with broccoli

FinallyHere · 31/07/2023 08:19

Good morning lovely bootcampers and thanks to @venusandmars for the perfect link

FinallyHere · 31/07/2023 08:22

Just caught up, so sorry to read that @prettybird not been well. Hope feel much better soon.

I'm KOKO here and expecting to continue for the foreseeable: always glad of company here in the bootcamp threads between bootcamps.

Back earlier than planned, fab weekend with our music "family" but the weather got the best of us yesterday so we packed up during the day and left after the headliners. V late night/morning but worth it we think.

Food wise haven't done too badly - stuck to our breakfasts and did my best in the arena. Tandoori chicken wrap one day and left the wrap, burger another and left the bun etc. May have sneaked a few of DC's fries and quite a lot of alcohol Friday/Saturday but mainly g&t rather than beer or wine. Not enough water - if I'm honest that was deliberate as I didn't want to go out in the middle of the night to the toilets 🤣🤣🤣. Interesting thing is my system is very obviously not missing the veg as it feels very sluggish and I have bad acid reflux.

Still 1/2 stone down and going to be strict BC now until next week when we go away to see if I can shift those extra couple of pounds to be under 12 stone. Need to do a meal-plan and shop today along with washing and putting everything away, last festival of the summer for us so things can go onto storage.

@prettybird sorry you're having a tough time, hope you and your dad are on the mend and taking it easy. @venusandmars belated birthday wishes, your celebrations sound lovely 😍

Sorry I've not been around: my dad was ill with a bad UTI and I had to help him out (as he had muscle weakness and no energy to do anything it's really unlike him to ask for help Sad) and now I've had to spend the last day or so with bad stomach cramps myself Sad

No brain power to do anything Sad

Oh no, what caused the stomach cramps? Hope you're both better today.
