Come and sign up here! Bootcamp is 10 weeks long, the first two weeks being the most strict.

We don't eat any of the following in the first two weeks:

potatoes
pasta/noodles/grains/oats
rice
bread/cakes
biscuits/crackers
sugar/sugary drinks/sweets
flour
fruit
chocolate
alcohol
nuts
artificial sweeteners

But we do eat plenty of:

meat
chicken
fish
seafood
eggs
vegetables
salad
butter
full fat yoghurt
cheese
cream
olive oil/coconut oil

Bootcamp is designed to be easy to follow - no weighing or counting of anything. If you just follow the rules (only 10 of them) then it will work for you.

Ten rules of Bootcamp

  1. Eat three, proper meals a day.

You must eat breakfast. It doesn’t have to be a lot, but you must have something. For the rest of the day, if you’re eating enough food and you are in ketosis then you shouldn’t be hungry. But if you are hungry, eat something. (Hard boiled eggs make a great snack)

  2. Avoid processed food, and focus on pure, natural protein as the basis for your meals – meat/fish/eggs. Things like sausages, ham, bacon, pre-prepared burgers etc should be avoided as much as possible. Avoid foods marketed as low carb, e.g. Atkins Daybreak bars.

  3. Maximise your fat intake.
Fry in butter, add butter to vegetables, eat salad with a home-made vinaigrette dressing (not made with balsamic vinegar though), add mayonnaise where you can (just check the carb count on your mayo first). Eat fattier cuts of meat – e.g. pork belly, roast chicken with the skin on and/or eat the fat off your lamb chops. Absolutely no low fat/light foods of any kind!

  4. Make sure you are eating vegetables and salads with your food
    – this is where your carbs should come from. But choose only those vegetables that are on the allowed list. You don’t have to weigh/count carbs – this is one of the great joys of this WOE (way of eating), but if you’re new to low carbing it can be helpful to weigh your portions of veg in the early days, just so that you know how many carbs are in the sort of portions that you like to eat

  5. Minimal dairy (apart from butter, which is unlimited).
If you are drinking tea/coffee with milk or cream, try to restrict yourself to max 2 cups per day. You may eat cheese, but only in small amounts.

  6. You must drink a minimum of 2 litres of water per day. The more weight you have to lose, the more water you should drink.

  7. No alcohol

  8. No fruit

  9. No nuts/seeds

  10. No sugar or artificial sweeteners

I have Keto breath now - tis grim.

milkmilklemonade12 · 14/01/2016 16:50

I made flax pizza base! It actually tastes okay and smells a LOT nicer than cauliflower base when it cooks. Quite bready. It tastes pretty nice too, and it's easier than making cauliflower pizza base, not to mention not having to have 2/3 cauliflowers in your fridge Grin

Gcalgske · 14/01/2016 20:46

Disco, it's often called 'oopsie' rolls too. They are ok, not great imho.

DiscoDancer · 14/01/2016 20:56

It's a pizza base made from cheese and ground almonds. After the first two weeks in BC I would have it as a treat.

Just to let you all know that I will probably make the spreadsheet up and send it to BIWI on Sunday night so anyone who signs up after that might be missed.

Don't worry, I will sort it out as soon as I see it. I'm warning you now though that I am going to be pretty busy at work (and we are also renovating a house) so might not be as prompt to update/check/fix the spreadsheet.

For those who can't edit the spreadsheet try this first:

ipad users if you are unable to update the weigh in sheet download an app called Google Sheets free from the App Store, sign in - does not have to be a Google account, I used my outlook one - next time you have clicked on the sheet link go to the app and you should see the sheet listed there, open it up and you should be able to edit it, I just did this with my ancient ipad 2 (really sorry, can't even remember who actually discovered this Blush might have been Lex?).

If you still can't update the spreadsheet then you will have to ask nicely and hope that someone else will do it for you Smile

BIWI · 15/01/2016 08:22

Thanks Sayrra Flowers

I will join! I have some history of low carb dieting, so understand how it works. I lost 3 stone of baby weight using this method, but sadly I returned to my old ways at Christmas and gained half a stone. I find carbs, especially sugary processed ones quite addictive. I sometimes feel like an alcoholic with those kinds of foods as I can tend to lose control over my eating very easily and just want to eat more. Whereas if I low carb I find my eating very easy to control.
I need to lose a stone as I'm getting married in April, so would love to join this group for motivation. I've already been low carbing since Monday and getting medium ketones on the keto strips already, although not weighed myself yet.

blackteaplease · 15/01/2016 10:14

I have a daft question about the spreadsheet. I know that Sayrra updates it but how is that done?

Do we edit it ourselves and then everyone sends it to Sayrra to manage a master copy? That's a lot of data management.

Or do we just track individually at home?

BIWI · 15/01/2016 10:57

Each Monday, when you weigh-in, you add your weight to the spreadsheet. The wonderful Sayrra then corrects all the mistakes that people have made, and all the messes they have made with the columns/rows Grin

OP posts:
SayrraT · 15/01/2016 11:31

blacktea the spreadsheet is a Google spreadsheet so everyone with the link can edit it so you have the link and can update your weight each week. You can also use the carb counter and weight conversion calculators. I just check it and fix mistakes Smile

blackteaplease · 15/01/2016 13:56

Ah that makes more sense. I had visions of everyone editing an excel spreadsheet and you collating all the different versions which would be a nightmare.
