Morning all. Hope you weren't blown away by storm Clodagh yesterday/last night!

Here's the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness for your delectation and delight

I'm at home this morning before I drive off to some research groups north of London, and not liking the wether forecast. I'm going to make a lovely, wintery, warming beef shin stew this morning, and get it in the slow cooker ready for later. (Not that I'll be eating it as I don't finish until 10.15pm so won't be home till well after 11)

Anyway, here's hoping for a good week for us all.

gcal thanks, will look at that roller, I have a recurring issue with upper back so need to do something about it

ShebaQueen · 03/12/2015 18:57

Hello everyone, I'm thinking I must try a BPC one of these days, I must be the only one who hasn't tried it.

Chicken with mushrooms and spinach for me tonight with some melted cheese. Also cooking some curry and a stew for the freezer as I find this diet so much easier when I'm prepared. Speaking of being prepared, I'm away with work tomorrow so just working out what I can stash in my bag to get me through the day.

Have a good evening everyone.

Gcalgske · 03/12/2015 22:42

Made the flat breads (psyllium naan - posted to the recipe thread)
I added onion seed to two and left one plain, had the plain one with the chilli, it was ok but I then had an onion seed one cold with butter and it was awesome. I've made them before but always warmed them up. Cold it was like a potato scone - totally having these with a fry up over Christmas. They are quite fibre rich so won't have them lots but as an occasional treat they are yum.

BIWI · 04/12/2015 06:29

Sound you'll find, once you're into low carbing properly, that you simply won't be hungry. It's a great appetite suppressant! But that said, if after an avocado you're still hungry, then eat. This isn't a way of eating that's about deprivation. But make sure you're eating Bootcamp-approved foods - so a lump of cheese would be better than nuts, or some olives, perhaps.

Hey all, such a hectic morning I've not eaten yet and thinking I may as well hang on til lunch as I'm not that hungry.

B: BPC
L: think I might make oopsie rolls and have a bacon, mushroom and avocado sandwich
D: pork curry, cauli rice

Bastard scales are still refusing to drop below 10st 5 but I did have a glass of wine and a bit of cheese sprinkled on my casserole last night so that's probably why.

We're getting into the festive meal/night out phase now so I'm not hopeful of dropping much before Christmas really. While I don't plan on going all out on carbs, I do want the odd glass of mulled wine or mince pie.

I am thinking if I can LC most of the time and maintain my weight, then come January I will be raring to go and should hopefully lose the rest of my weight before my big birthday in June.

Billionnairewannabe · 04/12/2015 22:10

Sheba I haven't tried BPC either as I don't know what it is?!
Lex hope your back getting better. Flowers

Still struggling with stinky cold but food going ok and doing better with water.
B - 2 lc sausages with 2 boiled eggs/butter and lettuce/tomato
L - ft yog
D - chicken & cabbage curry! Craving spicy food to get rid of this cold so just threw chicken in wok, stir fried bag of cabbage/leak and added ginger, chilli, garlic and curry, powder. Was delicious!
Going to try some of those lovely baked dishes - can't remember who posted but look fab! Will also try baileys! My little treat is a piece of 80% cocoa choc with a Brazil nut eaten together it tastes like choc Brazils.. Well it is Xmas after all!

Have the others given up? Confused

CalmYoBadSelf · 04/12/2015 22:38

Just popping in. I tend to read but not post but thought I would share my momentous news.

I don't weigh myself but my personal trainer records my weight weekly and just tells me any milestones. I started a week after the bootcamp official start and have now lost over a stone Grin

Gcalgske · 04/12/2015 22:45

Billionaire I melt 85% choc and toss brazilnuts in it and let them set in the fridge Grin

Yummy!

I was a bit of a tit earlier. Making crispy cakes for my daughters birthday tea tomorrow and I licked the f'ing spoon. Carby twat. Angry

BIWI · 04/12/2015 23:46

Flowers for calm! Go you!!!
I kept today vlc / hf to make up for carby nonsense (still grrrrr with self)
Creamy coffee/psyllium naan with butter
Chicken thighs (previously roasted in olive oil) revived in a pan with butter, served over butter lettuce
Pork belly / swede chips

No carb cravings... Might have gotten away with it!

BIWI · 05/12/2015 11:39

PT session this morning, and just cooking myself some Black Farmer sausages before I head off to do the shopping and fit in a spot of Christmas shopping before I head off to see the PILs this afternoon/tomorrow.

calm fab news

billionaire thanks for asking, still glued to my hot water bottle, thankfully a nice quiet weekend here. BPC = bulletproof coffee. you brew some coffee then whizz in blender with unsalted (preferably organic grass fed) butter and coconut oil between and tsp and tbsl depending on taste. It is a good way to get more fat in, esp if doing no dairy. It definitely seems to be a love it/hate it thing, I like them and not a big fan of coffee but these seem to even out the caffeine spikes and they do fill you up if you need to skip a meal.

gcal don't be so hard on yourself, glad it was not the start of a slippery slope. I had a not great day yesterday carb wise as had planned to be out for tea then plans changed and we ended up at home and I had nothing prepared and we all know that planning/preparation is key for this WOE, so I had what the kids had... anyway back on it today but much hungrier than usual so obviously had an effect.

anyway

B - lc swedish bread rolls (much nicer and more practical than oopsie rolls) with crispy parma ham
L - fathead pepperoni pizza
D - will be the ham hock that is in the slow cooker with savoy cabbage - only veg of the day, hmmm
just had a handful of nuts and expect there will be dark choc later, not perfect but better than last few days, the only way is up eh?

FeelingBlobby · 05/12/2015 19:28

I know I'm coming to this really late but found the excel sheet and rules so helpful and clear. After much research I've decided to really start on the low carbing and quickly realised I needed to re-educate myself on food. I.e the no grapes or fruit etc!
Today I had my first full proper day;
Breakfast - two scrambled eggs
Lunch - tuna and mayonnaise and raw carrot
Dinner - green Thai chicken curry with reduced amity of coconut milk and extra veg instead of rice.

Tonight will be my struggle... The no wine is my achilles heal!!

Anyway long story short do you allow followers in the boot camp even though I may be joining so late in.

Ps currently 14st10 and want to get rid of 3st.

ShebaQueen · 05/12/2015 22:57

Hello Feeling, welcome!

I have been low carbing since April and have lost 3 stones so far (I have 4 stones + to lose) - it has been "relatively" painless compared to other diets (I have tried all of them!).

I am sure that there will be a new bootcamp thread in January and probably lots of people will sign up. Until then, please join in this one, I've felt totally supported and motivated by others on here throughout, and you're right that BIWI has made everything so clear Smile

ChesterDrawers · 06/12/2015 09:03

Welcome Feeling, it's been a bit quiet this bootcamp so the more the merrier. Chat away and ask any questions - someone's usually around to advise.

I'm feeling pretty chuffed today as the scales are on 10st 4.2 for the second day running Grin, which is not only my lowest weight in over five years, it also puts me in a healthy BMI. We are out to lunch this aft though, so hoping I can steer clear of any carbs, hidden or otherwise. The motivation is there, I just hope the menu is on my side too.

Yesterday:
B: eggs, butter, cheese
L: two oopsie rolls with butter and Brie
D: donner kebab, HM Mayo, roast swede, asparagus

Today
B: bacon x2, eggs x2, mushrooms in butter
L: out so no idea
D: depends on lunch

FeelingBlobby · 06/12/2015 11:25

Thanks for the welcome.
Couple of questions,
Is caffeine ok? I've coffee no sugar?
And how do you cope on low days?
Thanks

LexLoofah · 06/12/2015 20:34

B- mushrooms in butter and scr eggs, too many cups of tea as DC woke me up far too early for a Sunday morning
L - had some leftover slow cooked ham, reminisced about pea and ham soup so decided to do broccoli and ham soup using hm overnight ham bone broth which was more like jelly really, luverly with toasted leftover Swedish roll which was like a sponge soaking up lots of butter
D - had made oxtail stew in slow cooker but DS sick so just had quick plate of cheese, kobanos and avocado, later followed by dark, choc nuts and more cheese - jeez need to get a grip but was feeling particularly sorry for myself.

feeling welcome, ignore me though as having a bad week, hoping next will be better, the answer is you just KOKO = keep on keeping on but it is RL making me low not bootamp or low carbing, is that what you mean or do you think you will have days when you are fed up with the food as really that hardly ever happens as should not be hungry or feel deprived

Wombatinabathhat · 06/12/2015 20:45

Welcome Feeling
Coffee is fine. It's better to have cream in it than milk.
If you're having a low day, come and have a moan on the thread.

Well Calm That is fantastic Thanks

Wombatinabathhat · 06/12/2015 20:45

Well DONE. Doh

Billionnairewannabe · 06/12/2015 21:54

Struggling with water again..seems easier at work.
Brunch - 2 LC sausages & lettuce & Mayo
Dinner - roast pork/swede & cabbage with butter.

Well done Calm! I need to get back to exercise this week as my flu cold has stopped me from going this week. Put Xmas tree up today & when everyone else had warm mince pie & ice cream my strawbs & cream seemed a bit boring!! So looking forward to Xmas day this year to have a mince pie!!
