Morning all! Sorry for later-than-usual start to the thread

Hope last week was good, and that you have managed to keep to it despite the fact that we are in the infamous weeks 3 and 4!

Come and confess all on the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness

or on the on the Weight Tracker

If you haven't seen the scales move, don't panic!

This is really, really common - keep on keeping on and from here on, hopefully things will start to move again. And you will know that every pound you lose from here on, will be fat. You are only likely to see losses of 1-2lbs every week, but don't forget how much a pound of fat is - imagine 2 packs of lard, and that's what you're losing for each pound!

Funny thing is, I lost weight for the first time this Monday (weekly weighing) and I'm finding not face planting into whatever it is really hard.
I do wonder about the nights drawing in, for me at least then?

I'm struggling too. I definitely think that, for me anyway, its the change in weather and the dark mornings. I do struggle more during the winter months though. Of course it doesn't help that DH is on one of his spells where he is constantly on the munch like a chocoholic caterpillar! I will admit to feeling very bitter when he sits there moaning about not losing and shovelling down sweets and crisps!

Anyone got any experience of coconut flour? I got some the other week but haven't tried it yet. I was wondering if I could sub it for the ground almonds in the little cheesey muffins as the oxalate in the almonds is proving too much if I have more than the odd one and they are so useful.

Don't worry, I have no intention of giving into my cravings just yet I'm just a bit fascinated that they are so strong.

Have succumbed to the lurg fully and am Ill In Bed. Have virtually no appetite as swallowing v painful. Whatever I do manage is basically still LC apart from a couple of items-for-medicinal-purposes. Fell off the water bandwagon today too...hoping this will all be a help rather than a hindrance, weight-loss wise....presume body will now start holding onto fluids etc now...bleeurrgghh

No idea Bitchy but it looks lovely. Going to try it tomorrow night with some pork chops Smile I'd give it a go and see, lots of flavour from Parmesan and lemon so should be fine.

Sorry you're not feeling well Yongnian, just eat what you can and try to get lots of fluid too. Hope you're feeling brighter soon Flowers

As I suspected STS this week. Feeling a bit better today and it's my day off tomorrow so going to try and take it easy. I was very poor on the water last week so I am going to make sure I get my 3 litres as well as upping the salt.

Miffy I know coconut flour takes a lot more liquid than other flours so it might take a bit of experimentation. Isn't it quite carby?

I liked this, hope you can see it - I particularly liked the "Don't do these" section as am very guilty of several of them. Seems timely that I saw this today as a lot of us seem to be giving in to temptation a bit!

Evening all - just a quick hello as I want enough of the evening left for an episode of GoT on DVD (very behind as we don't have sky).

yongnian feel better soon!
gointothewoods that is good! It ought to be pinned to my fridge.

Just thought that this might be relevant with all the talk of motivation today:

Has anyone heard of positive motivation? It's the motivation that draws you forwards through a process, rather than negative motivation, which is what pushes you away from where you were. For instance, "urghh, I hate my thighs", is negative motivation, and "when I'm at my goal I will buy myself some fantastic jeans" is positive (although a little shallow!).

Negative motivation gets you going at the beginning and positive motivation keeps you going. Personally, I'm good at negative motivation but rubbish at meaningful positive motivation which is probably why I get a bit lost when I only have half a stone to go.

Today - little time left so I won't list but I've eaten 24g carbs, 101g protein and 1909cal. Blimey. I'm still a bit peckish and could eat more Blush.

Sayra - well done for posting about it, Its helps so much to see other peoples triggers. Flowers

To stop myself binging, picking or generally falling off the wagon I keep a daily food diary on the kitchen cupboard door (at head hight), No hiding from it, that its obvious what Ive been eating for all to see, making me be honest to myself (probably my biggest food issue). Also it has helped a lot with seeing what my eating habits were like.

I’m a bit ruff at the moment as the dreaded lurgy is trying to chase me down… but bugger that I’m not going down without a fight. Grin even if I do nearly get blown away whilst out running

B. Boiled egg & BPC
L. quick snack of ham and cheese
D. Avocado Tuna Mayo mush and cauliflower
w. lots and lots

Tanukisan What is the workbook you are using please?

I read an interesting article at the weekend which said that positive visualisation can have negative effects as people get the positive feelings without putting in the physical effort so you have to get the balance between positive and negative right on top of everything else

Thanks to everyone for your support, I'm sure I'll hit my stride again soon (hope so anyway!)

I have got the menu for the dinner dance and the only way I could manage it would be to semi-starve and I know I would feel very resentful so I am going to eat mindfully but not pig out then back on the wagon on Sunday

Report
SixImpossible · 22/10/2014 00:13

Previously at dinner-dance-dos I have eaten the LC bits of the starter and main, and slipped the bread, potatoes, etc onto dh's plate. The portions aren't genererally huge, anyway, and he needs the extras. I usually have the cheese and biscuits for dessert (biscuits -> dh, of course) but if they aren't available I request an extra plate of main course instead. Warning: ask for the seconds very quickly. If you wait for dessert to be served you may find that they have already cleared the plated meals from the kitchen.

BTW, if anyone's interested, I feel shit. I felt emotionally shit today and face planted into an excessive amount of food. Yes, today I was a classic emotional eater.

But - I ate only LCHF food.

So, while I feel physically shit from being over-fulI, I do not feel mentally shit. Actually, I'm pleased with myself. I did not go for the fresh baguette or the one remaining cupcake, or even the secret stash of chocolate (yes dh, I know where you put it). I may STS as a result, but had no sugar crashes today and will have no rebound cravings tomorrow.

Morning all,

Well done Six, that's a massive step in the right direction. I've been surprised by my own willpower and have had a couple of moments like you mention. In my head as long as what we eat is LCHF we're not going far wrong.

Working from home today so no office biscuits to tempt, but the risk of boredom munchies is always there.

B: boiled eggs mashed with butter
L: celeriac soup
D: pork steak, lemon and Parmesan courgettes, leeks with bacon and butter

Woohoo 1.5 lbs down!

Sorry for everyone that is feeling down, definitely partly seasonal as bodies are trying to lay down fat to get through the winter. visualise that lovely outfit you want to wear at Christmas... I asked a successful low carber how she managed not to face p,ant into rubbish and she said she wanted to be slim more than she wanted to eat whatever it was. I try to remember that as it really helped me at the time!

I had got into my smallest combat trousers this morning...then miniHP was sick all on them so I had to find something else to put on!!!!!

I think I am back on track. Yesterday wasn't great as I took an unidentifiable frozen thing out the freezer for dinner only to find that it was sausage casserole, with potatoes and beans in it! I just ate the sausages.

Yesterday

B: Two fried eggs, coffee with cream
L: Coconut porridge
D: Two sausages from casserole and tuna melt
S: Boiled egg

Need more veggies but just couldn't be bothered cooking any.

Today

B: Coconut porridge, coffee with cream
L: Mushroom omelette
D: Roast lamb with veggies
S: Boiled egg
