London is a very busy place, and people there they never look at you, up and down. There's lots of places where you can go, you never get bored.

Jog on then.

GonnaeNoDaeThatJustGonnaeNo · 13/07/2025 12:06

I love visiting London but I wouldn’t want to live there.

LewishamLass · 13/07/2025 12:07

Yes I do like London.

Other cities/towns/villages are available. Find the place that suits you.

WhatNoRaisins · 13/07/2025 12:08

I'd like visiting more if there was only half as many people. There's places I like visiting but the crowds get to me after a while.

Needmorelego · 13/07/2025 12:09

I live in London but I'm not a born and bred Londoner.
Some parts I like..some I don't.
Some parts are lovely....some are shit holes.
I look at people 🤷 (really not sure what you are on about there)

ImAPreMadonna · 13/07/2025 12:09

I adore it. Have live in or near it (15 min train journey) most of my life. It makes my heart sing.

putitovertherefornow · 13/07/2025 12:10

Love London, or at least the bits I know well and tend to go back to. I worked in London for a couple of years in the 80's. We don't go as often as I would like, but I wouldn't want to live there.

Timeandtune · 13/07/2025 12:10

l love it. Always have since my first visit over 25 years ago.
I try to go at least once a year.

jay55 · 13/07/2025 12:10

Struggle to live anywhere else as happily as I do here in London.

WondererWanderer · 13/07/2025 12:11

Love it

waltzingparrot · 13/07/2025 12:11

I like the galleries, museums & architecture - the rest I wouldn't thank you for.

corlan · 13/07/2025 12:12

I don't just like like London, I love it with all my heart. Sometimes I bloody hate it, sometimes I'm bored with it but, if I thought I would never see it again, it would be incredibly hard to bear.

reversegear · 13/07/2025 12:12

I live an hour away and love it, try and go up monthly, I used to commute and I miss those days now.

Puffykins · 13/07/2025 12:13

I love London, passionately.

TheyFuckYouUpYourMamAndDad · 13/07/2025 12:13

For a specific visit…as a tourist…it’s fine. As a rural living (and loving) person though, I can’t imagine living there (or any city…I’m not singling it out!)

If you love it though, that’s great 🤷‍♀️ Horses for courses 👌🏻

HoratioBum · 13/07/2025 12:14

I’m a born and bred Londoner who only moved away last year because we couldn’t justify the cost of it any more.
I love it, and I miss it, even though I adore where I am now.
Literally never a dull moment, no matter where you are. The fashion, the people, the pace of everything, so much to do, see, eat… I love the history and the quirks of it. It’s in my blood and no matter where I live I will always be a Londoner.

Needmorelego · 13/07/2025 12:14

The thing with living there....if you don't live in Zone 1 (or even parts of 2) it's just a regular ordinary place with the same boring supermarkets as "Small Town Anywhere".
People go to work. Children go to school.
Daily life is the same.
(but with a pretty good bus service)

Yamyamabroad · 13/07/2025 12:14

London is too big a place to generalise. I lived there for 20 years then moved out to the home counties so now I love to visit London but I enjoy crossing the M25 to come home even more. I actually feel my heart relax.
Lots of Londoners will be very disparaging about people who don't live there but they won't have anything to compare it with. Very different lives.

Gowlett · 13/07/2025 12:17

Lived in central London in my 20s. Mid 90s.
I think I was there at the best of times.

captainvontrap · 13/07/2025 12:26

London is my passion. I’ve lived here all my adult life and I just adore it. I know where to go for all the things I want - history, culture, amazing food, nature, chill, busy. It gives me life and I will never ever leave. As an aside I live in Z2 after decades in Z1 and the community and local warmth is something else. I’m friends with all my neighbours and loads of local mums and dads too. The friendliness and decency I’ve experienced here far surpasses what I saw growing up in a naice suburb.

viques · 13/07/2025 12:30

Love it. I love living somewhere where I know there has been life , innovation, creativity and intellectual stimulation for a continuous 2000 years. I like seeing the evidence of this as I walk down the street. I also like the fact that I can step out of my front door and hear skylarks, see rare butterflies, and can show you where a little owl nests. I love the energy that surges through London when we have something special to show the world, from the Olympics, to a Royal funeral, to a coronation. I love the diversity of London inhabitants, food, culture, language, dress. I love the ease of getting around, of visiting outstanding buildings, theatres, museums, galleries. I like standing on a bridge, watching the Thames , the lifeblood of the city looking at the power of the water as it rises and falls with the tide as it has for thousands of years. I also like to visit quiet Postmans Park, read the memorials and remind myself that the Thames is also a cruel mistress.

London has problems, but then so does every town, city and village in the country, but London has hope and opportunity, and shows it is possible to rise above despair and deprivation.

jazzybelle · 13/07/2025 12:31

Love it.

dottiehens · 13/07/2025 12:35

Love it but it is too expensive and crowded with the wrong types these days. I hate to read news of people being killed and knifed. This used to set London apart from other big cities. The coldness of the people is too much but when you are young or introverted is a great place to be. You can make friends at university or even school and also be anonymous if you wish to be.

EmpressaurusKitty · 13/07/2025 12:40

London is home.

The servers in the local coffee shop know my usual order & I often bump into someone I know when I walk the 10 mins to my local supermarket or gym.

And these are photos from my recent London walks.

London is one of the most culturally diverse and greenest capital cities in the world. I’m London born and bred. The city is constantly changing, I can see why people from small villages might find it overwhelming or inhospitable. Each to their own. I’m a city person for sure, suspect I’d be bored in a very small community.
