Hello!! So I’ve put my daughter forward for a couple modelling agencies and I’ve got a response from Signature International & Little Kids London.

Im just wondering if anyone has worked with or heard of these? I’m unsure which one to go for.b

Whichever one you can make the most money off 🤔

dairydebris · 17/03/2025 10:20

Whichever one you feel will be most kind and nurturing whilst simultaneously judging your child on their looks first and foremost?

Hoppinggreen · 17/03/2025 10:22

If any of them ask for any money for photos or registration or anything else then its a scam.
There are a lot of "agencies" that will take your child on in return for money, the genuine ones won't charge you anything

Exactly this.

There is a Facebook group called parents of child actors and models that has useful information. There is loads of info re reputable agencies and how to avoid scams so I would recommend joining it and reading through it all before signing anything at all. My daughter is signed to a talent agency not a stills one so I’m not as sure about modelling but I did find the group information really helpful when she was accepted into her agency

jlee1904 · 17/03/2025 10:26

One has asked for a small fee of £50 to maintain her page and regularly updating her photos and the other has asked for £50 and said this Model agencies are prohibited from charging an upfront fee, but talent agencies, like us, are allowed to charge for directory inclusion following BERR regulations.

would you still say it is a scam?

Why would you do this? Let your dd grow & enjoy her life, not feeling judged already for how she looks.

jlee1904 · 17/03/2025 10:28

She is 6 months old, she knows no different on being ‘judged’

There are loads of ' child model ' agencies that are taking money to maintain a page.
Whether you get any work from it is another thing
Google the companies, look for reviews to see if they are actually finding work for their models, or just taking £50 off multiple doting parents

It may or may not be but please do be cautious and do lot of research.
They may ask for more money going forward as they get you with a small fee at first and then ask for more and more to make sure you get the best jobs
Its no reflection on your baby but it could well be a scam.

Jesus Christ...... 🙄

Go with whichever one allows you to make the most by monetising your baby.

eqpi4t2hbsnktd · 17/03/2025 10:51

grim.

I’m not sure I would really recommend the Facebook page though. I paid a one off admin fee for my daughter to join her acting agency of £40 which is quite normal. That’s it though, any jobs she gets the agency just take commission.

cestlavielife · 18/03/2025 10:53

Come back when you ve got a return on your 50 £ directory listing
If you happy to lose 50£ go ahead
remember you might never get that 50 back

saveforthat · 18/03/2025 10:54

Why do you want your 6 month old baby to be a model?

HansHolbein · 18/03/2025 10:54

What will you be doing with her money?

Lungwort · 18/03/2025 10:55

Surely there’s one called Monetise Your Baby?

jlee1904 · 18/03/2025 10:56

@HansHolbein putting it into a savings account for her when she’s older.

Run a mile from the whole thing.

Am loving “Monetise Your Baby” ! That’s what everyone is thinking though op so I would keep it quiet if you were mad / avaricious enough to proceed.

My DD has £30k in a savings account from her modelling…..

Although I suspect if we asked you to share a photo so we can judge her on her aesthetic appeal you’d think that was crass. Does remuneration make it better somehow?

Iwishiwasapolarbear · 18/03/2025 11:01

I think if it’s a legitimate agency and your baby is happy modeling then there’s not really an issue. Lots of babies model for pampers, next, primark etc and the money has to go direct into their savings account so it’s good for when they’re older. If they get older and start hating it then you can stop.

I’ve never done modelling with my child, as I’ve said, she does acting. She did mention wanting to model and I could add a stills agency alongside her talent one. However she’s 9 and I’m reluctant to step into that world with her in case it causes body confidence issues so I won’t be applying for her. A baby isn’t going to be aware or upset if their pencil snaps or they don’t get a recall though!
