Hello!! So I’ve put my daughter forward for a couple modelling agencies and I’ve got a response from Signature International & Little Kids London.

Im just wondering if anyone has worked with or heard of these? I’m unsure which one to go for.b

She is 6 months old, she knows no different on being ‘judged’

And I suppose you shall remove her from the agency when she does develop this concept at age what..? 2? 3? Or will you still keep her in as long as “she enjoys it” ?

It's definitely a scam if they ask you for even a fiver. If she's legit going to make them money they will take an agency fee once she works. No model agency ever takes money from their models/talent.
Please do not go with either of them.

Which ones are best? The ones that pay you, not the other way round.

You might have to fork out for things like an entry in Spotlight, I can't quite remember, but steer clear of the ones that want you to pay for a photo portfolio and this and that, and all that jazz.

The best, and most reputable ones do have fees, but they will normally deduct them from what they pay you once the child has done work and started earning.

This is tacky

Boredofbeinganadult · 18/03/2025 12:29

Don’t pay the fee. It is most likely a scam

"Baby girl has been signed..." is a little misleading really isn't it? You have signed your darling beautiful precious baby up without her knowing (let alone consenting). 60 years ago my parents were approached for my older sister to be photographed to go on a well-known sweet tin - they asked my 8-yr old sister, all was explained, and she jumped at it, we still have the tins somewhere. But even 60 years ago, they wouldn't have signed her up for it without her informed consent. I can't balance monetising a baby with protecting their images online tbh.

Run a mile from the whole thing.

Am loving “Monetise Your Baby” ! That’s what everyone is thinking though op so I would keep it quiet if you were mad / avaricious enough to proceed.

Not what I'm thinking but wondered how long it would take for people to start slagging OP off. I can honestly I remember absolutely nothing about what the baby in the latest Pampers add looks like never mind whether baby is make or female, or even if there currently is a TV add running! Yes of course a paedophile will but they'll get their kicks anywhere.

I've worked in advertising / marketing for 20+ years - including 5 years working on pre-school products. In my experience, if we needed a child model someone (at the agency or brand) would bring their kid along and we'd use them.

Maybe it was different in the 1970s, but in 2025 there really isn't a lucrative business or huge demand for baby models. It's hugely regulated now and using images of children to sell things comes with so many caveats and rules most advertisers don't bother unless they need to.

In case you hadn't noticed, for good reason, most people are desperate to keep images of their children OFF the internet. Unless you're best mates with the marketing director at Boden or Disney or you have 100k+ instagram followers, find another side hustle.

One has asked for a small fee of £50 to maintain her page and regularly updating her photos and the other has asked for £50 and said this Model agencies are prohibited from charging an upfront fee, but talent agencies, like us, are allowed to charge for directory inclusion following BERR regulations.

would you still say it is a scam?

Yep! If they wanted your DD to model for them, they’d only want your DD. They’d get their money from their clients
