Am I too snobbish if I say I don't like the outside of this maisonette?

SW London area, lovely neighbourhood and location is perfect, I just think it's looks really ugly and shabby on the outside, would I be mad to not consider it?

That's outrageously expensive. If I could afford that price I would be getting a detached 5 bedroom with loads of land in Devon.

Not very practical if you work in London.

Kerb appeal isn't that important to me but if it's important to you YNBU.

That tree is a problem. Either already or very soon.

Agree , I commented way back on the tree
Look at the photos , the trunk is tall before you even get near branches .
On satelllite it is massive .

Don't know what type it is but yes either roots, branch loss or possible TPO it'll be trouble

Really? That second bedroom makes me feel claustrophobic as a small office, it's certainly not a functional bedroom.

@MuscariFan it's 1 0'x5'. It's fine as a nursery:small child's bedroom. It would look much different than it does now.

But as I said, it was a quick comparison to see what else you can buy in that area & id would prefer a house & garden than a flat/maisonette.

The rooms are really large and really big windows and nicely kept. So I would not be put off by the outside as the houses opposite look nice so is a nicely kept area. I would rather the inside nice and comfortable and lots of space than a new property with tiny rooms. Has it got much storage. I used to live in London and really miss it.

Does it have good sound proofing. That is one thing please do check as lived in older apartments and you could hear them walking across above and non-stop noise. New apartment am in am first person to live here is really think concrete so cannot hear upstairs at all which is great so that would be the most important thing to check but love those big rooms.

I like it. It's not trying to be anything other than a functional easy to maintain building! But then having spent years living in a 'chocolate box pretty' dwelling I'm jaded beyond endurance with the constant maintenance and having to get things custom made (which comes with eye watering bills) because it's so old and individual, it has zero standard fittings. I would never go for kerbside appeal again, and would now chose practical and functional over aesthetics anyday.

What did you need to get that was custom made? Other than our blinds , and we could have just got ready made curtains, we never had to buy anything custom made. None of our neighbours the same. What fittings fo you mean?

@JJathome, OK I'm not the Canadianloon but in an old house, not even that old really, just shy of 100 years: the front door, every pair of curtains, blinds and handmade rails for curtains on some triangular windows, fire guards, stained glass repairs, an original pulley bell, French polishing oak panelling, etc. And not a listing in sight.

It has huge doorstep appeal however.
