summer school to close the learning gaps Shock
so don;t mourn those who have gone - they were the cause of the gaps...

arsenicistheanswer · 20/07/2017 18:11

Gosh that is exceptionally frank! Good luck to the school, and most importantly the pupils, having to work through the summer.

debbiewest0 · 20/07/2017 18:35

Wow mrsguyofgisbo do you know those staff leaving personally or you just like making up untrue comments about people being rubbish, coasting and failing??? As I do know a couple of the staff and a fair amount of those moving on are moving areas and schools or retiring and are actually some of the most hard-working people I know! The school is losing some great staff this year. Do not tarnish all those people with your anger and accusations of causing gaps.

And the external people doing summer school are not external but normal staff members doing extra hours?

Where do you get your facts and anger from?

MrsGuyOfGisbo · 21/07/2017 07:42

Anger?
Sad for the kids who have been failed to the extent that they have to work through the summer to make up for the failings of their teachers who were allowed to cast under the previous head who was great at spinning but kept on too much dead wood. Sad for those who have left for whom it is too late to make up that time.
The new Head has been very frank and honest, and the school is lucky to have him.

JaneJSmith70 · 24/07/2017 20:08

Don't believe everything you read.

ChrisSquire · 25/07/2017 12:13

RTT Online has: ‘There are 20 leaving cards to sign in the staff room' - more teachers believed to be leaving Richmond Park Academy':

The report includes a letter from the principal, Paul Mundy-Castle, similar to the letter already published here, and, as a comment, a supportive letter from a member of staff who is leaving to move to Sheffield.

MrsGuyOfGisbo · 25/07/2017 16:14

LOL a the supportive quote:
If it was your football club and they were replacing poor players with better-skilled ones then you would be excited about the new season
Replacing poor players with better-skilled ones - says it all.

STUDENTS in Richmond upon Thames school sixth forms are once again celebrating as they receive their A-Level results. Yesterday’s results show that the 429 pupils in school sixth forms achieved A-Level results above those seen nationally. The proportion of all entries graded as an A* to C was 85%, an increase of 7% points since last year. This compares with the national average of 77%.

The proportions achieving A to B were similarly above national averages, whilst those achieving the top grades were in line, with 27% of all entries grades A or A. The overall was pass rate was 99% . .

MrsGuyOfGisbo · 24/08/2017 09:11

Wouldn't you expect the second most affluent borough in the country to achieve higher than average - disingenuous. Does this apply to all Richmond schools?

user1471524629 · 24/08/2017 10:23

Comparing Richmond schools to themselves, Teddington was the only school to have improved across the board in A Levels, and out-performed Esher, where Teddington pupils traditionally went to study, whereas RPA fell in all categories. Let's see if the GCSE results show similar trends.

tw11 · 24/08/2017 10:53

Looks like the school is happy - they achieved 'best ever' results once again.

Here we go, all three in one message, hope this works now. Grey Court hasn't posted theirs yet, not sure about other schools.

Thanks for that - Be interesting to see if Twickenham and Hampton High have seen any improvement under the wings of Teddington and Waldegrave. If memory serves Hampton got in the low 40% last year, A*-C. Can't remember what TA got.
