Next meet up? Pre or post Christmas?

Do I sound to desperate for wine friends, if I start a new meet up thread?

I know it gets busy around Christmas but there might be a date people can do - I could do Friday the 6th or 13th December.

Or the other thing I wondered was about a meet up between Christmas and new year - get out of the house, get some 'fresh air' - I always need it after a few days of enforced jollity - the 28th or 29th December could be options?

CambridgeFace I'm just looking for an admin job really, nothing exciting! I want to keep working part time though so finding a job with the right hours might be a bit difficult!

NekoKutsu good luck for next week! ( or the week after Grin )

Waves to Rinnyx

My wheelie bin has just bounced off my car, that can't be good can it?!

CambridgeFace · 05/12/2013 17:14

I work at the university- quite a lot of admin roles in my department seem to be part time (18 or 25 hours a week) so definitely worth a look!

GinAndIt · 06/12/2013 07:25

Ooh thankyou CambridgeFace will have a look Grin

GinAndIt · 03/01/2014 15:22

Throughgrittedteeth · 06/01/2014 09:19

Hi everyone!
I'd love to come in the 24th if it's still on. I haven't been able to get to the last couple of meet ups, I hope you're all well!
Looks like there'll be some new faces too :)

Hello - right, blimey, just got that Cambridge local email with a link in it to this thread.

I'm still up for the friday 24th meet too. My dry January lasted like, a day I think.

Happy to go back to the Cambridge Brewhouse. I'll take a numbers check by Monday 20th and book a table then. We did order some food last time but not everyone ate. I'm generally too disorganised to have got dinner down me before 8pm and the food at the brewhouse is yummers.

Shellbell and other newcomers - you're more than welcome - we've had new people at each of the three meets so far.

NekoKutsu - you must definitely have had that baby by now! How are things going?

Molbas · 10/01/2014 17:20

24th and Brewhouse sounds good to me, count me in.

SkinnyLegsAndAll · 11/01/2014 09:14

I'm in for the 24th, too!

rebeccamg · 17/01/2014 21:48

I'd love to join your meet ups!!! Can't do Friday 24th though as in Hertfordshire!
We have just moved to the area on 30th December so don't really know anyone!! Really keen to get out and meet people. Can anyone recommend some good groups to take my two young children to?

Abenethri · 18/01/2014 00:36

I'd love to come to a meetup too - I work in central Cambridge and have a one-year-old DD. Have just moved to a new bit of the city and don't know many people there, and I work mainly Mon-Weds which is when all the local baby & toddler groups seem to be, so I'd love to meet some MN-ers!

I'm not sure about the evening of the 24th though as DD is having a bad evening sleeping period and is not v happy if she wakes and I'm not about :/ Will try to see if I can get away but a daytime meetup would also be fab, somewhere like the botanic gardens even better.

Throughgrittedteeth · 20/01/2014 10:13

I'm around for daytime meet ups. I'm usually off Monday Wednesday and Sunday. Looks like there's lots of new faces Smile

Rinnyx · 20/01/2014 17:44

I'm on FB more than here. The ipad app is a bit of a pain
This is my URL, feel free to add me. Be nice to see faces to names so if I pluck up the courage to come along I will recognise a friendly face :)

Okey dokey, pig in a pokey.

so far we have:

AuntieBulgaria
Ginandit
CambridgeFace
CambridgeNewbie
Rinnyx
NewtoCambridge
Throughgrittedteeth
Shellbell27
Molbas
Skinnylegsandall

On that basis I will make a reservation for 8 - 10 people

at 8pm at the Cambridge Brew House on King Street

for Friday 24th January.

You can eat if you like, but you don't have to order food. Last time we did sharing boards and people chipped in but if we end up with a huge group, bags I not responsible for dividing the total equitably.

I brought a green beaker with me Grin, which worked for covert identification of other mumsnetters so am happy to do that again.

I'll find out if with such large numbers we are likely to be allocated space upstairs or down and will post back.

Otherwise, I'm usually just about connected to the internet in the Brew House so you can post a message on this thread if you're having trouble locating us /last minute poo bomb cancels plans etc etc.

See you there : )

theA14 · 22/01/2014 19:03

Oh! Disaster! The Cambridge Brew House is fully booked for Friday night. Sorry.

My alternative venue suggestions are:

The Maypole - (near park street car park) cheap cocktails and food, can be studenty, wine may not be great?

The Fountain - (regent street) usually space and nice beers etc. Food is a bit tiny.

CB2 - lots of room, nice food, bit far from city centre if people are bussing in.

Anyone else got a recommendation? I'll book a table tomorrow am for whatever people fancy?

The Pint Shop?

RandF · 23/01/2014 12:54

Look forward to the next one. Other half working on 24th and not plugged into babysitters yet.
Will keep my eyes peeled.
Have fun.

GinAndIt · 23/01/2014 18:02

Oh the pint shop looksnice. Is it new?

godolphinarms · 23/01/2014 18:13

How about Cau? It's next to pint shop and food is good as they offer 'small plates' rather than a big meal.

theA14 · 23/01/2014 18:41

Ok, here we go.

I have booked a table for 8 people at Cau at 9pm.

Pint shop was too busy.

I propose meeting in the Eagle at 8 first.

I hope that's ok and that people see this message in time.

If you are coming could you do a quick reply to this thread to see if I am woefully under or over booked?

Thanks
Jo
