I just finished the old thread by accident

OP posts:

I meant funny in a witty, entertaining way, not that she is odd. Not odd at all. Just lovely

Help me! DS wants a Birthday Machine and a Birthday Hat. WTF is he talking about? I think it may be to do with Little Einsteins but I have no idea. I was hoping a card, a gift and a cake would be enough...

dooneygirl · 22/09/2008 19:55

Wow. After reading that, DH asked me if I slipped you money to say nice things when he wasn't looking.

We enjoyed our morning, also. The next day, we were inside the Field Museum, and after we saw "Sue", Colin asked where Dinner (he used Dinner's real name, though) and the Cupcake Lady were. We told him you weren't coming, and he hopefully asked if you were going to be at the aquarium later. We all thought you and Dinner were wonderful, and were very glad we got to meet.

THANK YOU so much for the Mars Lady lemon drizzle cupcakes. Those things were amazing. Caitlin fell off the end of the bed That night, and really hurt herself, so I spent the entire night up watching her. I hadn't had much sleep over the last few nights, and when that happens, my stomach never feels good, so I didn't want meals, but I ate the cupcakes right up.

Isn't Mr. Dooney wonderful? He does have some sort of baby whisperer way about him. He never raises his voice, either, they just listen to him.

Isn't it funny how we picture people online. You didn't look anything at all like I thought. I did have long hair growing up, though. Very long hair. I moved out and within a week, I cut a lot of it off (my dad made me have it long), and it just keeps getting shorter and shorter. . .

SuperBunny · 23/09/2008 00:43

Poor Caitlin. I hope she is ok. I hope you enjoyed your trip. Dinner asked several times when he would see his 'new friends' again.

I took him to Legoland today. Was very exciting (but way over priced, even with discounts). Being a Monday morning, there was no-one else there so we went round twice. All DS can talk about is how the dragon sneezed in his face and we got wet (4D movie)

Well, I am at work so should probably go and look busy or something...

Hi all and a belated fond farewell - we are now back in the UK! It has been a time of lots of change for us but hopefully having it all at once will be beneficial in the long run. DS1 has started school, as we discovered that nearly all of the schools in our area independently decided to stop having a January intake this year and didn't bother to tell me . DS2 is at morning nursery school despite being slightly too young for it as the timing works better for me for the school run. Our house surprisingly doesn't feel too small or cramped though the sea shipment with most of our things arrives on Friday so I suspect it will then!

SB, I'm not sure what the birthday machine looks like but maybe Dinner would like the book of that episode?

dooneygirl · 25/09/2008 02:34

No wonder it has been so quiet. There's not that many of us left.

MrsSprat · 25/09/2008 02:41

OK - so is the sky actually falling in?
Or have I just not learnt where the off-switch is for CNN?

That Bush address was - ahem - very reassuring wasn't it? (You like my English sarcasm?) But I guess one shouldn't expect much else.

dooneygirl · 25/09/2008 03:01

I'm impressed you watched it. I can't stand watching or listening to him, and if he were delivering instructions on how to save my life, I'm not sure if I'd be able to watch.

MrsSprat · 25/09/2008 03:04

You'll love this... it was on after the brand new Knight Rider [low-brow] (and I hadn't switched over) . Knight Rider also rubbish

dooneygirl · 25/09/2008 03:10
Grin
SuperBunny · 25/09/2008 03:30

LOL MrsS!

GGM, hope you settle back home quickly

I did not watch Bush. I don't know what is happening in the world. My own little world is stressful enough at the moment.

Thanks for Little Einsteins help. It seems the birthday machine was forgotten. Thankfully.

Hope everyone is ok.

Cali, we are back in our house in St A. I think you have me mixed up with someone else as I haven't been to Boots for you (but I can if you need me to?)!

Dh and I went out for morning coffee and scones. Bush was on the TV and I just looked briefly and mentioned how really, really DUMB he looks. Still can't believe he ever got elected...

Earlybird · 26/09/2008 02:08

Hi all. Perhaps it's been quiet around here lately because we're all either glued to the telly for the latest catastrophic economic news that will potentially change our lives forever....or completely mentally/emotionally wrung out.

I am now actively trying not to get sucked into the horror story, and have barely watched telly, listened to radio or read online newstories today. The whole situation is upsetting....and yes, I'm probably overeacting. Or, am I?

SuperBunny · 26/09/2008 02:36

I'm going with the stick my head in the sand thing, Early. Tis all quite worrying.

Pic of Lego cupcakes on profile in case anyone wants a gander.

Hope you are all ok. It's quiet on here.

dooneygirl · 26/09/2008 03:02

It is very worrying, Earlybird. I'm just sticking with the idea that DH's being a tightwad thriftiness has been pure financial genious, and everyone will be in the same boat except for the uber-rich. I doubt if we'll have complete economic collapse and live in dirt huts and all be starving, but hopefully we'll learn something from this and it won't happen again. Yeah right

dooneygirl · 26/09/2008 03:03

Crap, I hit post and realized there was a stray o hanging out in genius.

what a nightmare, CF.

Hope he is much better in the morning. I also have a mortgage and stuff in the UK. All quite worrying. Def best not think about it [ostrich]

I meant to say thank you for the cupcake help - everyone was very impressed with the Lego. I didn't tell anyone that my internet friend helped me, but I did think of you! So thank you

Where IS everyone????

Hope your DS is much better, Cali. (fingers crossed emoticon) Sorry you're with WaMu. We took everything out of them a few years ago, because they screwed up our mortgage loan application so badly, we never wanted to do business with them again. I was quite miffed at the time, but thank you so much Mr. Mortgage Loan Processor.

It is our 10th anniversary today. And DH and I will be celebrating it by . . . him working late. It wouldn't have been to exciting, anyway. There's only about 3 people here I trust my kids with, and one has a DH with a birthday today, one has a 20th anniversary this weekend and are leaving town, and my mom and sister don't miss a religious meeting for anything.
