not really......I just really wanted to meet sibble and the others and make the meet up, I think it could be better to keep our thread up here as it feels more like home and the lasses over there all have their very little ones to discuss so I feel it's their thread really.
And what better place than home to have a good moan about relationships....what a couople of weeks, we seem to be back on the same planet this week thank goodness, it was like he was on planet Zog and me on Zwarf, pretty scarey,we did lots of talking and managed to pinpiont a few issues and now we're back on track, all pretty wierd really. On saturday morning I was wandering round the shops thinking "arrrhhhhggg" so you can see I would much rather have been down in wellie taking my mind off it all....vent over thanks
I was thinking about you with all this rain, not only your roof but how you were finding the job in the rain, sounds like you're ok though, shame about the roof, any idea when it will get fixed?

Sibble · 01/04/2008 01:17

hi both of you. really sorry missed you in wellie. it was good to meet the others and put some faces to the 'names'. weather's pretty grim up here too but at least we have a roof poor you paps. good news about your job too. i had some good news on the job front today too, i've been working voluntarily and it's taking up more and more of my time but i love it. today they have offered to apply for grants to pay me - very exciting. i can now definately leave the other job which i just don't enjoy.

Report
Papillon · 01/04/2008 03:59

Sibble, that voluntary work can turn up trumps huh I am stoked with my job , my boss has big visions for the place and if all works out then I am in a very good position to far with this nursery.

KJM sorry to hear you have had some planetary opposition, but glad you guys can communicate and work on issues.
Something dh and I could never do for years.

dh still trying to work at me to reconcile... he never gives up - still being seeing someone else now for 2 months, but it is very casual. I am starting to stress about dh though cos he wants me to stop seeing the other guy and starting to push for intimacy and take a leap of faith that we can be happy together. I am actually frightened now about him coming here this weekend, he came for Easter. The trouble is he is all full on and my feelings would take time to develop, I turned all my feelings for him off, not simply a matter of turning them back on again. Arggggggggggggggggh

OUr roaming cat arrived back this morning, cheap to feed cos he the cat slut of the area getting lovin all over the show.. he has grown! Which household will whip off his gonads though that is the question, better I start asking for donations

hello both, hey so good for you two on the job front, great news. I have nearly finished my college course and am trying to work out a direction for myself...[thinking very hard face]...

hey Paps and Sibble, how about a bit of advice on this....Ds has had an on going problem of an eczema type rash in what was the nappy region for the last two years, it comes and goes, I've tried everything under the sun over the months and now it feels like I've gone full circle, more than once!!
It seems to have gone fungal just lately so I took him to the doctor who also thought so, of course the doctor perscribed him Micreme H, hydroquartisone cream, I have been following the directions of a natropath and using, chickweed/calendular/nettle cream (very expensive, good make) mixed with a little teatree, and avoiding heating foods and giving pro-biotics. Anyhow...doesn't seem to be shifting it and we've just about enough of it, I am ready to try the doctors cream (although it hasn't worked in the past) but she wants me to use it for two weeks and it just seems so long to be putting HQ on his skin...oh dear what a quandary I have myself in.....

Report
Papillon · 09/04/2008 08:31

Boil Sage and dab on area. Sage recommended to me in Switzerland and found it great, as did others mums I told about it after they had found prescription creams to not be working.

Been very busy and quite tired with the transition of daylight savings. Would love to book in for a massage, think I need to start eating vitamins. The wet weather has meant less physical work so thats has been good so can get some rest and do some digging in my garden halfheartedly! Had a guy come and do a free toxic survey of house in side and out today.. for lead, arsenic, etc. Pretty good overall and areas that are bad are being changed with renovations.

hi both of you. sorry I'm not going to be much help re. excema. I'm into supplements rather than topical except for the usual poultices etc. I would usually suggest boosting his immune system (which I'm sure you're on the case with) good quality multi-vit/mineral, Vit E (good for skin conditions) and possibly an immune booster (I only know the name of the one I sell but grape seed and vit C base). I did resort to using h/c cream on ds2 at some stage for a skin condition, just very short term, it did clear it and touch wood it hasn't come back. I can understand your reluctance though. It is scary stuff.

Paps hoep things are working through with you and your ex. Hard times but you will get there.

Well we have all been laid up with hideous colds since returning from Wellie. ds2 came down with it first and everything goes to his chest so he's had a week onfconstant coughs and temperatures, ds1 who NEVER gets sick has it but is insisting on going to school (is my company so bad ) dh is the only one who's escaped so far but that could be due to being nicely tucked up in bed at night while I'm up and down like a yoyo and out all day! Still had first nights sleep for about 10 days last night - bliss.

Hiya
Been a busy weekend, had a family 40th birthday yesterday out where you just visited recently kjm.
Still getting used to working so much, my body having to make sure it rests and put lots of good food in it.

The kids are both very well, both blooming atm, think the diet of very little dairy is helping them both

Made a lovely Feijoa and ginger loaf yesterday and a Feijoa custard pie. I feel all domesticated!!!

hiya, sound like a nice birthday if it was over the hill, ouch no pun intended!!
Tell me about Fejoas! mine are all pulped and frozen for future use, was going to process in a more eviromental friendly and less freezer space fashion but just had to do something fast with them all, you know.
Was in the hospital yesterday, I am really suffering today from post general anaesthetic blues, it seems to have really hit my system hard, yukky. But the prognosis is pretty good, I don't have Crohns it seems, YIPPPEEEE!!!!! but I do colitis and IBS, fun and games eh Sibble. At last my Gastro fella is acknowledging that it is affected by diet and stress, so I'm doing all the right sort of stuff to manage it, just gotta keep ploddin along I guess.
la de da...

kjm, not fun and while diet is manageable if rather boring at times stress is a hard one to avoid permanently!!

am generally very busy at the moment and still nursing a horrible cold that has gone to my sinus'. feeling rather sorry for myself tbh. could sleep all the time, just very tired with it.

anyway, when muster up the energy planting some more fruit trees and getting veggie patch going is high up on the agenda. am looking into putting some raised beds in as soil here not very good. dh has commented I seem to be good at research and not too good at digging

look after yourself too paps - don't work too hard.

yep well, at least I'm not going to be put on lots of horrible drugs....but this pain is a pain and as you say it's so hard just to 'be' a calm and tranquil sea person, especially if you happen to be me More Yoga, More Yoga, More yoga............

Sorry you're having such a hard time with your health, sounds rough, hope you feel better soon.
I did have some thoughts on putting in raised beds in the winter time, do you think you'll get enough to grow to keep your soil nice and covered....don't forget to give it a good mulch if you don't get enough crops to grow before mid-winter, or am I talking like a pom who doesn't understand the northern NZ climate?

hey I go get seaweed from the beach a hop, skip and jump from me to fertilise the vege garden.

Been planting Phormium cookianum (medium sized flax) and a plant that looks like medium size toe toe

www.nzplantpics.com/pics_grasses/chionochloa_conspicua_small_01.jpg

perhaps a picture may help!

they are going on my outside fence line to hide my sexy corrugated iron fence. All this rain, so much easy to dig holes!

sounds great, flaxes are just lovely aren't they, I've just planted a coastal flax I swopped for an obnoxious weed at the sustainability weedend, lovely for the birds and bees. I you your seaweed, we don't seem to have much washed up on our coastline, maybe it's to do with the island protection, anyhow I cheat and buy mine in a bottle .
I went for a walk after dinner last night, in the pouring rain but that doen't really bother me, it had a good result, I slept better last night, I may have to approach the landlord about getting a dog!

Hey, so over anzac weekend was constructing a fence. Got the fence for free and have changed it from vertical to horizontal fence and stained it Ash Brown which looks great. Have some Jarra posts in and some of the old fence we pulled down, so its a original!! Nice to have abit more privacy and its a lovely area that will have citrus and maybe a spa pool one day.

Work going well and am getting involved with the Sales / Marketing more which is a nice mix to have with chilling with the plants which I love.

dd is looking forwards to kindy, which is cool.. we were not at the nursery much last week though so life is not too tough. ds loves having her about to play with, he is dropping his day sleeps more and more and handling it well.

working at a womens expo this weekend selling and promoting the plants.

hope you are chilling and well

glad to hear things are good for you Paps. Things here a little more turbulent as you may have noticed from other threads. Dh has handed his notice in at work and is now job hunting (no I didn't see that coming either), he wants to move to Oz, I'm the happiest I've been here since moving so not keen - ds1 thinks the bottom has dropped out of his little 8 year old world, sold bach (had to go all things considered). All in all am not sleeping and mega stressed. Am seeing a very good natural healer (seems like reiki to me) who is helping or not last time I saw her she said as I was internalising to much she was going to work on releasing the middle 3 chakras and I may be tearful. I've not been tearful just a bit agro .

At least I'm ocuppied with the school hols. Having fun with the boys even if I am a bit grumpy with them.
