Hi just wondered if there are any other mumsnet mums or mums 2 be living in Italy. As things over here seems 2 be done quite differently it would be go 2 talk 2 another parent who has done it before or is as confused as me. Mums over here don't seemed 2 be given the same sort of info which is freely available 2 mums in the uk. Not sure why. Although I have no complaints about the care both me and my babe have rec'd so far. Would love 2 hear from others and chat about how they have found things over here.

Decided not to go, school started early for me so decided better to say and prep my classes.

Raining madly hear, hasn't stopped for 3 days. Bit of a nightmare getting around.

My sister went home today and I ended up crying, only person I've ever cried over when they have gone home. Normally I'm happy to get rid by the time the holidays cming to an end. My house is quite small so always feels crowded, therefore releived when they've gone home.

We bought boots yesterday and bought my son a pair of Valentino Rossi trainers. He's estatic about them. Only 25e.

I had a phone call yesterday for more private classes, 4 hours a week at 20e an hour, in the black. Plus Mum's happy if I bring the kids. Great news for me.

When does your daughter start asilo?

Tanktop · 25/09/2006 11:14

DD doesnt start asilo until next September but we are seriously considering sending her 2 a private Nido for a couple of days a week after her 2nd b/day in November. We really feel she needs to mix more with other kids. Unfortuately my friends kids are either tiny babies or teenagers so she no kids her own age to play with. We went to visit a nido last weeks and we really liked it. So much cheeper than back in the uk. For 2 1/2 days per week plus food it will only cost us 260 euros a month. We have another to see next weeks. Its funny cause my family are really behind us and think its a great idea sending her but DH mum (italian) has been slightly quiet on the subject. I get the impression she thinks I am being selfish which isn't true. Her children didnt go to nursery or playschool like my sisters and me.

Good to hear u are being kept busy with work but sorry that you were upset when your sister left. I speak to both my sister every week and always feel abit down when the calls over.

It's DH 40th birthday on Thursday so I am franticly trying to make decorations and bake a cake without him finding out. I am going 2 decorate the front of our house etc for him returning from work on Weds night. He is off all day on Thursday so think we are going to drive to the coast and go for lunch etc. Heres hoping the weather is ok.

Hope your kids have settled back into school. Have a good week. Speak soon.

Hi Marypop, got back from the UK last week and to be honest glad our annual return is over. Just too many people 2 visit and let face it you can't keep them all happy. Was nice to see my family though and managed to stock up on all DD winter gear. Also managed to stuff 2 indian, 2 Chinese and 1 fish and chip meal down my face while we were back as well. yummy. The weather in Edinburgh and Glasgow was really mild so that was nice for a change. How r things with u any visitors over? Nonna arrives next saturday so thats me got a babysitter for a month or 2. Not sure how long she will be staying but will defo be here for xmas and NY. Have u any plans for the festive period? Think ours will be a quiet family time, same old same.
