Yep I know someone who go caught out by the 2 year thing and nearly didn't get back in the country. The good thing is once it's renewed after the 2 years it's then permanent, for ever, properly! Until you need a new UK passport and then you have to get the residency permit transferred to your new passport...another $100 etc...

The two year thing may not apply to you Justa if your dh is a kiwi - see p.3 of inz1176 form (sorry cant link). We would have been eligible for the exemption if we'd applied just a bit later in 2010, under the new rules (but as it is my H still doesn't have indefinite PR as he won't spend enough time in the country Angry )

AngryBeaver · 03/04/2013 07:48

sibble*, let's hope things get back on track for you soon. One thing I have done since we have been here; Buy/make garlic butter, and then buy french sick when on offer, 2 for $2 or whatever. Split, spread with garlic butter and freezE.
Ok , not going to make a world of difference, but we eata lot of garlic bread!!

Was feeling a bit wobbly today after a confirmation of No Baby This Month, but forced myself out.
Went to a playgroup for ds 2 and really glad I did.
Waas invited for coffee and swapped numbers (felt soooo teenagery!) with some nice women. One from Edinburgh, lolly (thought of you)

Ws nice, and I feel a bit better.
Pizza and wine and cuddles for tea Smile

and congrats justa x

Is that no ASDA AB?

WhatSheSaid · 03/04/2013 17:44

The pat pat of the back pocket used to be on an Asda ad in the 70s/80s - accompanied by cheesy grinning woman and slogan "That's Asda price!"

WhatSheSaid · 03/04/2013 18:03

Hough I think the slogan is used by Tesco now?

So, I know this is really really juvenile, but I watch this series called Nashville, and one of the leads is Hayden paniteirre (or however it's spelt!) annnywaaaayyy, I was googling to see when the next episode is and there are all these stories about her and her boyfriend, a Russian boxer guy. So I click on the links, and holy mother of all that is good, but he is HUGE I mean epically insanely H U G E. and she is teeny eeny itty bitty. And all I could think was...... How on earth do they DTD. Blush

thelittlestkiwi · 04/04/2013 08:08

It's very common for very tall and very small people to partner up frik. Scientists reckon they are trying to ensure their offspring are closer to average. Disassortative mating is the term.

AngryBeaver · 04/04/2013 08:31

frick you filth bag! i thought the same

frikonastick · 04/04/2013 08:48

Lol at littlest being all scientifically minded about it all Grin

thelittlestkiwi · 04/04/2013 10:15

I know a lot of fascinating info. But you have to get me very drunk to hear it these days.

frikonastick · 04/04/2013 21:08

Do any of you guys know how I can hide someone from my facebook feed? I don't want to de friend them, I just don't want to see the 3 thousand 'inspirational' fucking quotes they post every day. Most of which are contradictory but apparently as long as they are printed over pretty pictures, it's all ok!!!

Sorry. Minor rant.

Never mind. I figured it out. Blush

frikonastick · 04/04/2013 21:29

Sorry justa, cross posted. I couldn't do that on the iPad. I had to go into the friends list and then click on the friends tab and deselect show on news feed.

Thing is, one half of my family is very religious, as in, they are all ministers, or work in/for the church or have their own churches. And that's cool etc etc and they are lovely lovely lovely people. if you can ignore that they are largely homophobic, intolerant bigots. They are my family, and I love them, but I really can't be doing with all the crazy ass shit they put up on facebook.

I promise. My ranting is all done now!

frikonastick · 04/04/2013 21:30

Aaaaand just realized that of course, justa, that must read really really badly to you. Am sorry Blush
