Thanks, but I can’t speak. If hurts to fucking breathe right now. Despair.com 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭

sellotapechicken · 18/07/2025 23:04

Hey! How is everyone doing ? It’s my birthday on Sunday so we’re going back to where we met tomorrow :)

SewingBees · 19/07/2025 09:19

@sellotapechicken I hope you have a lovely day today, and birthday tomorrow.

I'm just having a quiet day at home, making some bags including finishing off my sister's birthday present. I'm seeing her tomorrow with my mum, and hopefully nephew and his family if they get over their lurgy. It's the start of the summer holidays, my daughter is with her dad today.

I slept really well last night and so far this morning I haven't needed to take any painkillers. I think that is the first morning in two and a half years that I haven't woken up in pain.

Have a great birthday @sellotapechicken 🎉🎂🎈

Still in hospital, exhausted from lack of fucking sleep. Been in since Tuesday. Now have diarrhoea ( sorry!) so that needs to be tested now.

Oh my giddy aunt ( is that a saying?) I’m starting to feel in a parallel universe right now ( or goldfish bowl!)

Ugh feel for you! To be fair you are on massive antibiotics and anti fungals, they just want to make sure you don’t have C.diff. If you do it Means you get a snazzy room all to yourself.

Thank you for the birthday wishes! :)

Already in ( unsnazzy) room 🤣
Neutropenia = mask and apron.
I think the anti biotics are messing up my gut!

What are you doing for your birthday with husband then? ( don’t burn anything!!!) 😂

lucysmam · 19/07/2025 10:37

I'm ok - very fucking tired! I was less tired rushing about to get to Glasgow last Saturday - think I'm just ready for some proper down time.

@sellotapechicken have a fab day out! Happiest of birthdays for tomorrow 🥳.

@Enigma53 do you have something to do while you're in hospital? (Not that I could concentrate much in there but maybe you can!).

Haha!! I won’t burn anything I promise! That pizza was something else 🤣🤣. For anyone not on Facebook this was my attempt at a sneaky pizza when I woke up hungry and didn’t want DH to know I was eating a pizza.. whereas in reality I set fire to it and the smoke
alarm woke him up, and just in case it didn’t our dog howled for about an hour afterward. Turns out pizza ovens cook frozen pizza way faster than usual 🤣🤣🤣

We’re going to Chester, going to go to piccolinos and maybe a pub or 2 with my family. :)

Oh my goodness! That's something else 🤣. Tbf, the thermostat in our oven is knackered & everything cooks at the speed of light!

lucysmam · 19/07/2025 21:18

@sellotapechicken would you mind asking your dh for me if the Landlord can arrange for works to be done without making sure it is at a convenient time? I was under the impression that this was reserved for emergencies (i.e. gas leak/roof fallen in sort of thing) but he has decided to book next Saturday morning between 8-12 for someone to come out to do some works. I don't want to get up at 7am on a Saturday when I don't have plans!

Well I’m fed up remember the two massive surgical wounds I have on each side of my calf we
here they cut in? One side was healing beautifully when the stitches came out until I saw the surgeon who spotted that the nurse had left some bits ins so he removed them and god knows what he did but now I’ve got a massive leaky wound like a bed sore. I’m so upset it dribbles down my leg. I can’t say the community nurses are the best. Some of them are the others I have to question their hygiene around it.

so fed up immunotherapy is on Tuesday and scan in a couple of weeks. There’s no way it can be working yet. I’ve been on too many antibiotics

Enigma53 · 20/07/2025 09:26

Just to let you all know, that our lovely @RedRosesPinkLiliespassed away yesterday. She was at peace and surrounded by her lovely family. Very sad news indeed. 🌺🌷🌻

I shall raise a toast tonight. What a wonderful woman, I’m so glad she was able to see her son graduate. This fucking disease

GoldenDog1 · 20/07/2025 09:52

Oh no I'm so sorry to hear about our lovely RedRoses.
I didn't realise just how poorly she had become.
FFS this is all so shit 😢

Sorry I've not been around much but sending you all love and strength.

@sellotapechicken Wishing you a very happy birthday 💐

lucysmam · 20/07/2025 09:57

Oh no, awful news. Thank you for letting us know @Enigma53 . I shall join you in raising a toast @sellotapechicken .

Happiest of birthdays to you @sellotapechicken !

@EachandEveryone can you raise your concerns re. the community nurses with anyone? That's not acceptable!1

EachandEveryone · 20/07/2025 10:34

I’m so sad to hear that news she was a lovely woman. God it is a bastard. I try not to think about it but it absolutely takes over your life. And it’s so unfair. All of it.

SewingBees · 20/07/2025 11:20

Gutted. So sad. I'm glad she got to see her son's graduation, but still.

I think once again, it puts it all into perspective. Things can go down hill very quickly once chemo stops working. And even on chemo, we are so vulnerable.

SewingBees · 21/07/2025 13:12

I'm still reeling from the news about @RedRosesPinkLilies. Feeling very despondent.

OP posts:
Enigma53 · 21/07/2025 13:17

@SewingBees I feel the same. It hurts and makes stage 4 seem real again.

EachandEveryone · 21/07/2025 15:21

I felt a lump last night in my lower abdo so didn’t sleep much. I’m telling myself it could be from the surgery but knowing my luck, it won’t be. I have immuno tomorrow and all the scans next week.

sellotapechicken · 21/07/2025 16:14

I can’t believe how quickly it all happened with @RedRosesPinkLilies it’s just not fair

Enigma53 · 21/07/2025 20:07

@EachandEveryone from experience, I say get it checked out. Some of us aren’t bloody lucky enough for it to be nothing. That said, I hope it’s nothing!
