The rental market is tough, so be careful. Will you privately rent or HA/council?

Can you get some UC to help with the rent. I find that entitled to site very helpful. I can’t get anything as my savings are too much. I’m trying to think about going back to work. I still can’t walk for long my leg is swelling after a few hours and the wound hasn’t healed but I reckon a couple of months. I need the salary so bad I hate using my savings not knowing if I can replace them. @lucysmam is uni delayed this year!?

Physically I am stronger, but still not keeping down food and not passing much in the way of motions. I admit I was anxious about how soon I should recover- but Consultant says up to 7 days, and this is day three of steroids. So hopefully 🤞

On a brighter note I am home from hospice on an afternoon pass - would not have got that if I’d been in the hospital. I’ve done more this afternoon (nothing much) than in a good feed weeks

@RedRosesPinkLiliesIm guessing the steroids should help with any inflammation induced blockages, is that the idea? I do hope things improve for you. Is it dexamethasone you are taking? I start that on Tuesday for 3 days 😳Keep on going @RedRosesPinkLilies xx

Feeling fucked off here. I miss my little job and some colleagues. It’s relentless, chemo, bloods, scans, shit news, cry, pick one’s self up, rise and fucking repeat! Yeah think I need a swig of my oil!!

Thinking of you all tonight. I can’t sleep for toffee, just keep thinking of my friend. Turns out she had an asthma attack whilst having a scan and was on life support but her family chose to turn it off because she had significant progression, and they’d be bringing her back for ‘more suffering’ in their words. It’s such a shitty disease.

hope everyone is doing ok. I crocheted a baby blanket this weekend I quite like it!!

@Enigma53 we'll get a bit of UC - not much though. & local housing allowance is £550 - they won't pay above that (nowhere near anyone's rent these days, I don't imagine).

@sellotapechicken can we see your blanket? I haven't crocheted in ages, just can't settle to it 🤷‍♀️.

Second to last week here...battling on. Cannot be arsed! & this week is manic with things to do <sigh>.

Today I'm feeling really tired. It seems to take a very long time for general anaesthetic drugs to leave my system.

I'm sorry to hear about your friend, but I completely understand her family's decision. I hope they are at peace with it. I had a bit of a chat with my sister yesterday about my wishes for after my death - she will be a trustee of my daughter's trust fund - but we haven't had the dying/death/funeral discussion yet. I've written some stuff down.

My sarcoma buddy didn’t impart good news and given how few treatments we have, I’m beyond sad. I will leave this lovely group now, because I am next in the firing line and I need time to face my reality.

My friend had her op today - no-one's heard from her/her dp yet. Hopefully no news is good news!

I'm off to the chemo suite for bloods tomorrow...then council for advice as to what to do about my current LL who sent yet another "reminder" today that he wants to collect the keys at the weekend. DO THINGS BLOODY LEGALLY YOU ABSOLUTE PISS TAKING BELL FUCKING END!!!! It's bordering on harrassment now - can't even go two days without him adding to the stress.

Aw, how lovely 😊. I had a crochet blanket made by my mum for many years. I used to use it, in a dolls carry cot, as a bed for my childhood cat. Goodness knows where it is now mind you but I loved it. I think my dad may have it.

@lucysmam DH is a judge who also works in housing legal aid. You are legally entitled to stay in that house until your landlord has a court order seeking possession and have court bailiffs come to remove you. You are entitled to emergency accommodation through the council but if you leave before the bailiffs arrive you’re found to be intentionally homeless.

we live not too far away from Manchester but DH knows loads of legal aid providers if you want to DM your location so he can recommend someone nr you? As your a single parent and have stage 4 cancer you’re Eligible for legal aid and you don’t have to leave your house if you fight it.

I say ‘fight it’ it’s usually one court hearing where he says ‘give them more time to find a house don’t be a giant penis’ to the other side and 9/10 times he wins.
