DH was diagnosed with bowel cancer (T2N0M0) in 2014 at 38. Surgery + chemo. All good for 9 years. 9 years. Until this week - revealed to me and GP several red flag symptoms stretching back to April. On 2WW. For CT and colonoscopy next week. Got 12 and 7 year olds. Trying to stay breezy and positive for him but FFS, can't do this again. Life is a bitch.

Tumours in the bowel are v slow growing so if he had a colonoscopy 2 years ago I'm sure he will be fine OP. Will keep everything crossed for you x

This episode has more red flags associated with pancreatic disease...but agree a primary in the same place is unlikely in the circumstances.

Fingers crossed OP. He was very young the first time, was he tested for Lynch Syndrome? If he does have bowel cancer again I'd look into it as I think a positive result can indicate some treatments are more likely to be successful. We went through this three times with my dad. Best of luck Flowers

Hi. Yes. It's good advice. He was tested because of his age (and with having a child in need of surveillance possibly). All clear there. Thanks.

Lots of love op. Will be thinking of you and your family.

Try not to jump the gun. Less than 5% of people with 'red flag' symptoms turn out to have cancer. Having had cancer, your husband's risk is probably a bit higher , but still more likely than not something benign. Thinking of you and totally get why you are terrified

Sorry you're going through this. I've just been through a 2WW situation with my mum - which we had confirmed on Monday was nothing to worry about. I know what you mean, it's like you're in limbo isn't it.

But you have to cling onto the fact that 9/10 people on 2WW end up not having cancer.

If he does.. then take comfort from the fact you've both been strong enough to beat it once before. You know it can be done.

All my thoughts are with you x

I'm so glad he was tested. If he was negative, then fingers crossed all will be well. My fingers are tightly crossed for you.

You're all so kind and are on this thread, I assume, cause you've been through it too so sorry for the self-absorption. Some v sad from the youngest's school today - the mum of a Yr 1 child died today. Bloody cancer in all its forms.

Thinking of you

I'm so sorry you're going through this stress and I sincerely hope it turns out to be nothing.

My DM was diagnosed with a bowel cancer secondary on her ovary not long after her 5 year colonoscopy came back clear. It's absolutely shit.

On the bright side though, I work in healthcare (primary care) and we initiate hundreds of 2WW referrals each week (huge practice). Only a relatively small percentage turn out to be cancers. Still too many I know, but fingers & toes crossed for DH's symptoms having an innocent explanation.

Your poor mum. To have the relief ripped away from you. So cruel. Thanks for your well wishes.
