Day 5 post transplant!
Im feeling really quite awful to be honest and still likely to get worse every day over the nexr week.
Im on a constant infusionnof morphine, a drug to reduce how much saliva etc I make and a strong antisickness drug. Im also on a collection of other drugs to help be deal with it all. Typing is at times impossible so apologies for messages left so far un replied to.
The doctor this morning says he thinks im doing pretty good xx

So, it gets worse before it gets better Confused At least you know that. You can brace yourself. Just focus on getting through the here & now, one small step at a time. Wish we could wave a MN magic wand, or carry you over this rotten bit to a place of wellness, but we can stand on the sidelines and cheer you on! And that's what we're going to do. A lot. You are quite, quite remarkable. Hope you know that too! Thanks

magimedi · 18/10/2014 10:02

Ditto to everything Mumsfret said.

And very, very happy to hear that the doctor thinks you are doing well.

LinesThatICouldntChange · 18/10/2014 10:06

So pleased the doctors are happy with you.
It's crap that it's a 'no pain, no gain' scenario, but hopefully with the right combination of meds, you can drift through this bit as comfortably as possible, and then come out the other side feeling a whole lot better

Mr biscuits has come to see me. Crumbs have gone to play with wonderful friends and the tiniest one of all is with q family member so he could come and look after me a bit.q feeds so much better having him here. He knows what im thinking so can tell the nurses. Far better than 'torture by charades'

Sorry you're feeling so awful. You'll have a great excuse to slap cut down anyone who complains about having a cold in the future. You know what it's like to feel really, really dreadful.

You need to stop feeling bad about not replying to messages. I can guarantee that not one person who has sent a PM is feeling miffed about a lack of reply. I am certain that every one of them would say you should only reply if it helps you do to so. You have every excuse in the world to let others do the running at the moment and be totally self indulgent about the bits you feel up to doing.

There is a light at the end of the tunnel and it's getting brighter every day. Keep focussed on it xx

ajandjjmum · 18/10/2014 16:27

I think you're amazing biscuits - feeling so rotten, and yet you're still able to make us smile! Just think how good you'll be at Charades come Christmas! Sending love and lots of healing wishes. x

catsrus · 18/10/2014 18:07

I'm still smiling at the message you posted last night biscuits good drugs indeed Grin enjoy your time with Mr B the mind reader - what a handy skill for a dh to have!

saffronwblue · 18/10/2014 21:53

Another one who thinks you are amazing. I bet all the nursing staff there love you too. Glad you had some time with mr biscuits - clearly you picked a good one there!

magimedi · 18/10/2014 22:32

So pleased that you saw Mr Biscuits.

And I echo Gold's post - never, ever feel bad if you don't reply to a pm - am sure most of us send them to you to cheer you up & RSVP is not at all necessary.

Stay strong & stale - you are an amazing woman & you inspire me every day.

Can't begin to tell you how many times I have thought about moaning about the daily grind & thought of you & have shut up.

I hope you are having a wonderful sleep tonight.

DashingRedhead · 19/10/2014 09:45

Just want to send love and support. Great news that doctor thinks you're doing well, after all they're the ones who see us all through it. Lovely that you got time with Mr Biscuits - you both need it. Lots of prayers and good vibes from the Redheads.

Aethelfleda · 19/10/2014 12:35

Panicmode1 · 20/10/2014 06:23

Haven't checked in for a while but haven't stopped wishing you well. Hope today is a positive day. Thanks

Legionofboom · 20/10/2014 15:59

I'm glad to read that you had some time with Mr Biscuits and it's good to hear that your doctor seems happy with your progress.

I hope, at the very least, you aren't feeling as bad as you thought you might and that you are able to get some sleep.

I can only echo what others have said. You are doing brilliantly, in fact you are quite amazing and we are all here, rooting for you. I think of you so often and truly wish that there was more we could do.

Hugs and Flowers x

Hope today's a good day for your biscuits. x

StillProcrastinating · 21/10/2014 10:21

Hiya biscuits,

Not sure if you're too poorly to read stuff on the iPad, but incase you need a little light distraction, here is the silliest story I could find in our local news:

Daft Crocodile Story on BBC

Hope people are helping you keep your spirits up.

Xx

OrangeyTulips · 21/10/2014 11:19

Grin Great story. Reminds me of the mumsnet story about the old lady who was taking the train with a wrapped up penguin in order to return the penguin to the zoo and the conductor pointed out it was a wild guillemot.

Hope you are warm and cosy today Biscuits.

Legionofboom · 21/10/2014 11:48

I love the crocodile story and I do remember sniggering at the guillemot story too.

I used to have a lovely Australian boss (in the UK) who had young children who had only ever lived in Britain and loved to hear stories about Australia from their dad. His DD was completely convinced that her grandmother had a crocodile that she kept in the bath. One day her granny had taken the crocodile out so she could have a bath and the crocodile escaped. But it was ok because her uncle's kangaroos had found it and taken it back home. Grin

Keep going biscuits x

meerschweinchen · 22/10/2014 13:47

Thinking of you here still too. I had a sick bug at the weekend and it reminded me how horrible being sick actually is. Then I thought of you, and all you're going through and how truly grim it must be. Hope you're feeling a bit better today Thanks

magimedi · 22/10/2014 17:57

Waving & sending you love & thoughts.
