If you like premier inn and have 3 Dc. What do you do?

Just that really.

We really like premier inn, the comfy beds, no frills and buffet breakfasts but DC has outgrown the travel cot and you can only seem to book a room for 2 Dc plus a cot. :( no feeling a bit sad about short break prospects for next year!

So if you have 3 kids where do you book?

TIA 🙏

I don’t have 3 DC but surely you do two rooms? DH and 2x kids in one room (DH on the single, two bigger ones sharing) and you and the littlest bed share in the second?

coffeecup88 · 28/08/2021 20:30

Oh that's a bit sad to sleep apart from DH

You can get connected rooms in some premier inns. Otherwise 2 rooms with an adult in each one.

Some of the premier inns have connecting rooms. I need two rooms so only really book when it's £40 or under, so I still consider the price good value. I just wouldn't book if it was £80 a room!

Authenticcelestialmusic · 28/08/2021 20:32

We book two rooms in hotels. Though I know a few people who sneak child 3 in but that scuppers breakfast!

Haven caravans sleep 6 or 8. They also allow 2 adults to take 3 children swimming.

aaaaah · 28/08/2021 20:32

2 rooms, an adult in each

Have you never slept apart from him? It's great! Get a much better night sleep
IggyAce · 28/08/2021 20:34

It’s usually two rooms, some of the newer ones have connecting rooms.
However you could ask if it’s possible to fit another bed in. Some family rooms we have stayed in have been massive others cramped.

Sometimes youth hostels too. The yha brand is great. But they have got quite pricy this past few years imo. I'm paying £385 for 3 nights in London at Halloween (2ad 3ch.) I could get a different hostel cheaper, or a hotel for about same, but the one I've booked is a really convenient location for us.

Or an apartment. I prefer booking.com over air BnB as it seems harder for the host to cancel on booking.com!

Disfordarkchocolate · 28/08/2021 20:36

Connecting rooms in a Premier Inn.

Smartiepants79 · 28/08/2021 20:36

You get 2 rooms.
Surely you can manage for a night or two in separate beds.
If you want everyone in together you have to cough up more money for different kind of accommodation.
I’m not sure there’s many cheap hotels that allow more than 4 to a room.

BeyondMyWits · 28/08/2021 20:37

Connecting rooms for us. Though we tend to go for Holiday Inn as their connecting rooms work better for us than PI ones.

MyDcAreMarvel · 28/08/2021 20:37

I have 8 kids but only 7 usually come with us. We book two rooms and book a travel cot for the five person room. Two kids then share a bed.

HelenaJustina · 28/08/2021 20:38

We book 2 Family rooms. 1 adult and 2DC in each. Children get singles and adult gets double to themselves!

MyDcAreMarvel · 28/08/2021 20:40

@Authenticcelestialmusic Though I know a few people who sneak child 3 in but that scuppers breakfast! no it doesn’t you get two kids breakfast with every adult.

Thanks, hadn't thought of holiday inn. Is it a similar set up re breakfast too?

Oh we've had cancellation nightmares on air bnb and the host suddenly wanting a load more money. I a bit wary of it now.

Will look at booking.com

It's a good point about the price thanks

I've got 4 dc. It depends on the premier inn tbf, we've stayed in some brilliant ones with massive rooms who were happy enough for the two youngest to share a bed or get another pull out bed for us (Glasgow and I think kingston) we recently had to stay in a holiday in and it was a pain in the arse with the two rooms, I had the two youngest and puppy who clearly needed out to pee alot, not planned well on our part tbf.

coffeecup88 · 28/08/2021 20:46

@aaaaah I work full time nights so we feel we spend enough time apart without doing it on holiday as well. I do appreciate your point though

OP posts:
Pinotwoman82 · 28/08/2021 20:47

We do 2 rooms, found premier inn the best price

coffeecup88 · 28/08/2021 20:49

@TheCanyon to arrange extra beds in the room are you calling around the hotels directly? The websites don't seem to have any useful options.

Any hotel experience involving a puppy sounds like a nightmare anyway!! 🙈

Barwell76 · 28/08/2021 20:50

We have 3 and sneaked the youngest into the room to share a bed with us until he was about 4. But since age 4 we get 2 rooms with an adult in each.

Patbutchersarrow · 28/08/2021 20:54

We stayed in a premier inn last month with 3 dc. Oldest had a bed to herself and the youngest 2 shared a bed me and dh had the double, it was fine but I appreciate that not all premier inn's will allow this, I asked before we booked and not everyone will want to do it.
