Relatively small Vanguard S&S ISA; where to move to now?

I've got a relatively small Vanguard S&S ISA, so I'll be hit disproportionately by the change to their fee structure.

I chose the FTSE Global All Cap Index fund, and this has done well recently - I currently pay in £150/month. I just wanted to set this up and forget about it!

Id probably like a reasonably well established platform, and the same or a similar fund. I know I can read around etc. (and I will), it's just that I thought I'd done that a year or so ago, and that I could relax for a while.

Does anyone have any comments or pointers?

I just read this article in The Times https://www.thetimes.com/article/da2cbada-d1c1-4503-bbf3-c926708cd304?shareToken=176db5eaa6edb10abfd7a269fe77b2e00_ though it hasn't helped me to decide what to do! I just set an account up for DD as well last month, so the timing is particularly annoying!

Thanks @KnutsfordCityLimits!

Wealthify is 0.6% and Nutmeg is 0.98% (annually).

I am going to have to switch too. I expect to get to 32k by the end of next year so it's not such an issue for me but I have set up accounts for just-adult DC with £500 so I need to move those ASAP. They will never be able to build anything up with those fees!

saveforthat · 15/12/2024 09:18

Thanks for starting this thread. I am in exactly the same position. There's so much choice, it's difficult to know where to start.

iWeb: www.iweb-sharedealing.co.uk/charges.html

If I was paying in £150/month, I’d only buy more fund units every 3 or 6 months to reduce dealing costs.

Funnily enough, I was wondering about this earlier - I can't see share dealing charge on my account on the app, where could I check these?

I could put in a lump sum instead if this makes more sense.

I've used Fidelity for many years. Fees are low, though not the cheapest, and they have a good website and huge fund availability.

Vanguard don’t charge dealing fees but incorporate that into their account fees which is why you pay more.

Thanks @Numberwangggg 🙂.

Is there a way to search to find out whether any platforms would allow me to invest in the same fund (FTSE Global All Cap Index)?

I have currently have £700 with Vanguard. I was planning on adding more this month. I really wish I understood this stuff more!

If your DD is junior account age I'm sure i read they aren't affected by the new charges - do need to read up further though to be sure!

Search on whichever fund platform you choose for the ISIN ( but the fund comes in either Acc or Inc):
Acc GB00BD3RZ582
Inc GB00BD3RZ475

Thanks, I'll read that @Medee 🙂.

Yeah, I want to go to an established platform, and just be able to leave things to grow. It's more of a pot to potentially bridge a year or two of retirement, so it's not a particularly high priority at the moment, but I'd like to keep it ticking over.

The Donegans just released this article. If you've got a decent balance and investing quite quickly the benefits of moving may be marginal. If you've only just started might be worth moving. Don't got to Wealthify or Nutmeg!

You're welcome. Plug your numbers in and see what it says.

ThimbleT · 15/12/2024 10:18

I’ve been pleased with Moneyfarm. I think the performance has been good and the fees are competitive. I also like the app.

Medee · 15/12/2024 10:22

Indeed @Numberwangggg !

rumred · 15/12/2024 10:32

Thanks for this @IndustrialActionAhoy I don't know what to do either. I want to move my SIPP also because I hate that they are penalising the less wealthy.

IndustrialActionAhoy · 15/12/2024 10:37

The Rebel Finance article that @Numberwangggg linked to is really helpful actually, and they also say not to rush into anything, and that they'll publish a follow-on about platforms etc. soon. So, I'm going to keep inverstugat
