Hi ladies,

Starting early with this thread in hope some are on a similar time frame!

36yo, been trying to conceive for 2yrs. Severe MFI as well as AFC of 3 and AMH of 1.9pmol/l

First IVF cycle with ICSI ended with a total failed fertilisation - 4 eggs collected, all mature but no fertilisation.

We have now switched to long cycle and added in DHEA, COQ10, melatonin, vitamin D, omega 3 alongside our fertility vitamins.

I should start my period end of Jan; and then start down-regulating February with transfer hopefully late February if I’ve worked it out right!

Anyone else on this mental torture of a ride?

@captainsmal I was on Gonal-F and Ganirelix for my previous cycle (without the norethisterone). The Gonal-F pens are really easy to use, and so is Ganirelix. I didn’t have any side effects appart from the Ganirelix stinging a little but it seems to be happening to almost everyone.

I hate having to mix the Menopur everyday, but we will see if it makes any difference from my previous cycle.

@YellowTack thats good to know, thanks! The pens look really easy on the videos but I wasn’t sure about the Ganirelix ones. I’m only doing 5 of those injections though (unless my follicles aren’t big enough at my 10 day scan and they make me do a couple of extra days)

@KayEmmSquared the gonalf is not to bad Iv never had stinging from it as the needle is very thin and it's very user friendly unlike some of the others! Iv never taken luveris or ganirelix! Iv been told to take the two stim injections together, I'm on the max stim dose of 450ui. Yay@Happibara seems like we're almost on exactly the same time line! When do you go in for your first monitoring scan? I think mine will be that Friday the 31st.

Pergoveris 375iu injected. No pain at all easy peasy. I'm also on 10mg of Provera (tablet).

@ivfjourneyandme same! When are you due?

Seems like everyone has a lot of monitoring scans, for some reason I only have one scan on day 10 of stims and if the follicles are ready I’ll be triggering that evening 🤔
don’t get me wrong my clinic is a 2 hour train ride away so I’m happy I don’t have to keep going in every day but I’m a teeny bit worried about stimming the entire time without any monitoring lol

maybe it’s because I’m fairly regular and I’m on the low dose of the stims so they’re not too worried, I’ll have to trust they know what they’re doing 😅

I’m usually a 28-30 day cycle, currently on CD30. Usually ovulated CD 14 but this one (first proper one since failed IVF cycle) I ovulated CD 18 so maybe another 4 days?!

@ivfjourneyandme yeah I’d say cd32 if you ovulated on cd18, hopefully it comes soon!

Urgh, thats so frustrating when your period doesn't behave! I really hope it comes soon for those of you waiting.

I had my nurse planning meeting today after doing two days of injections already - it was very reassuring to speak to someone to check I had been doing it right! They spoke through my full protocol so I feel much more informed about things. Now I just have two weeks or so of the dwon regulation before the stims will start - Im hoping I don't get too many side effects from the down regulation!

@Cherryblossom90 Definitely, good to have cycle buddies!
My clinic doesn't do baseline scans (or at least doesn't schedule them on my protocol). So my next is the first follicle tracking scan, booked already for the 5th; by then I'll have had 5 doses of Ovaleap. Then they do follow up tracking scans every other day, on the 7th and potentially also 10th, if the eggs take longer to grow.
Obviously I hope to get the go ahead for EC on the 7th, but I'll try to be patient no matter what 😊

@ivfjourneyandme the maths sounds right, but you never know, maybe it's a short luteal phase cycle! I hope you get your period soon! 🤞

Thanks for your replies @Happibara I done 5 egg collections in the past and they've all been after 13 or14 days of stims because my follicles hardly respond to stims at all even on the highest dose 😅so my EC date will probably be after yours around 11th-13th of Feb.
Did you say what stims your on or have they not told you yet?

@Cherryblossom90 Wow, 5 egg collections behind you, you're a veteran! It must feel good to be familiar with the process and your body's responses; you definitely know what you're doing and have sensible expectations 👍

It's quite the opposite for me, being first time. And I'm also aware that in the first cycle the clinic team is just guessing what might work based on my initial consultation results. I hope they guessed right! 😅

My stims are just Ovaleap, 225iu, daily.The clinic only told me what dose to take until the 1st scan on the 5th February;
It's a moderate dose from what I read, so I think they will be able to up it if the follicle tracking shows slow progress.

How was your first Fyremadel @YellowTack? I’ve got my first one tomorrow morning.

Had my first monitoring scan this morning.. they said my womb looked good and lining was 3 layered (can’t remember the fancy name they use). Now to wait until Monday for the next one and to hopefully see some progress.

@spttc hope your first injection went well!

@ChyLL I still get a reaction when I inject Fyremadel but it disappears after a couple of minutes so it’s not that bad! Good luck for your first one tomorrow!

Great news for your scan. Did your clinic give you any info on the number of follicules? My clinic didn’t give me any info at my scan last Monday but I will definitely ask at my scan next Monday!

@YellowTack when I had my AFC scan I had 14 follicles. I’m not 100% sure of today.. I think about that across all sizes. On Monday I’m going to note down follicle numbers and lining thickness.

Im 39 and she said my follicle numbers are consistent with my age and AMH of 7.9. Just want it to be 10:30 Monday morning now!

Day 2 ✅ not feeling bad yet. I feel like I'm meant to feel bad. When does that start? Just feel completely normal so far. Only day 2.

A question for anyone who has had embryo transfer before.... are you sedated for that like you are for egg retrieval? Just wondering

@spttc I’m on day 5 and all I’ve felt with Ovaleap is some nausea since day 2 and some mild cramping for 2 days.

I’ve never had embryo transfer but my clinic do it without sedation.. just collection has sedation.
