Hi ladies,

Starting early with this thread in hope some are on a similar time frame!

36yo, been trying to conceive for 2yrs. Severe MFI as well as AFC of 3 and AMH of 1.9pmol/l

First IVF cycle with ICSI ended with a total failed fertilisation - 4 eggs collected, all mature but no fertilisation.

We have now switched to long cycle and added in DHEA, COQ10, melatonin, vitamin D, omega 3 alongside our fertility vitamins.

I should start my period end of Jan; and then start down-regulating February with transfer hopefully late February if I’ve worked it out right!

Anyone else on this mental torture of a ride?

That's interesting about the grades.
So I received update on day 6, no more embryos, we have 3 in total. After a request they also sent over the grades from this and previous cycle and it's handwritten, we can't understand a word XD
Oh well, now just waiting for the clinic to arrange the frozen transfer, I guess.

Day 6 update - we got 1 more embryo so we have 5 embryos biopsied and sent for pgt-a

4 x day 5 blastocyst (2 x 1.2, 1 x 2.1, 1x 2.2)
1 x day 6 blastocyst (1x 2.2)

She said that grading is.... first number baby cells inside, second number is what will form placenta. 1-3, 1 is best, 3 is worst.

We had one more that fertilized but didn't make it! But 5/6 ain't bad.

Meds have arrived. Down regulation starts this Friday.

@CanuckinLondon right there with you. They aren't sending mine until Thursday so results on 28th Feb 🙃 just gotta think it will possibly save time in the long run as failed transfers may be avoided etc 🤞

@ivfjourneyandme our schedules are so close! Meds arrived yesterday, down reg starts Thursday! Tomorrow is going to feel so long lol

I am a bit worried about mental health side effects of progesterone, tbh the last two days I’ve been really down anyway, pretty sure I ovulated the other day so this is my body’s own progesterone? So how much worse is artificial going to be 🙄 but I’ll see.

All of you are heroes, truly. The whole process and waiting is so nerve-racking.

I'm going abroad to start my stimulation at the end of February. My clinic said they will start the stimulation medication on cycle day 2-4. Isn't it a bit late from your experience?

They told me to call the clinic on day one of my period so they can book me in for scan and medication collection.

Well done @spttc 5 out of 6 is indeed great, all the waiting around is the worst bit I sometimes think! Hopefully it will be worth it with healthy tested embryo(s) to transfer💛

Is anyone with LWC by any chance? I had EC Friday, they said they will call on Saturday to confirm initial fertilised numbers (which they did)….but just to go in tomorrow for fresh ET if I don’t hear from them after that ....😬

@Toryory21 seems strange - tomorrow is day 5 so they're just presuming one will get to blastocyst and they'll implant? No update on day 3 or any communication after initial number. Hmm

@spttc - nope.. but this is exactly what they told me would be the case so I guess I was warned! Every time my phone goes off though I get the dread 😬. Can’t complain about LWC otherwise!

@Toryory21 yeh that's strange. Duno if that would work for me 😬😅 torture. I was literally told we will call before 12noon on these specific days. Best of luck tomorrow though! (Hopefully!)

Hi! Just had the egg collection! 7 eggs collect 6 mature so hoping for the best there! Quite relief 6 are mature hopefully at least one will fertilized normally and get to blastocyte stage! They will update me re fertilization tomorrow.
How was you EC @Twittwoo2020? And how are you doing with the possible ET today @Toryory21?

today has been a bit up and down for me. Had a scan and was expecting to be ready to trigger tonight for EC Friday. But I only had one follicle over the line and several still catching up. The nurse gave me some more meds and said we’d have to change my EC to Monday. I always knew that was possible but it really threw me. Plus I have a work presentation on Mon so lots of added stress. Cried on my drive home but then she called me to say the dr had reviewed my scan and wanted me to tigger tomorrow for EC Saturday. I’m so glad I don’t have to wait the full weekend!

silly question maybe, but I know we’re not supposed to wear perfume for EC. Does that apply to scented deodorant? Wondering whether to get an in scented one

Well done everyone, some of your numbers are looking great. My medication arrives Friday, I have short protocol so should be having EC in last week of February. I hated the side effects of buserelin last cycle so I’m going back to Ovitrelle but worried it will reduce the number of mature eggs, I had 4/13 mature on ovitrelle and 5/7 on buserelin. My clinic basically said it’s 4 eggs regardless so it didn’t make a difference, but obviously the buserelin percentage is much bigger so worried I’ve made the wrong decision. I wish it could be easier.

I have had one fresh transfer today woo but sadly nothing to freeze. I’ve got one more round of IVF lined up if this doesn’t work but then I’m done (we have a 2.5 y/o).

Flagging that my hubbies sperm sample for fertilisation was terrible as he has a bad cold - arghhhhhg! Ended up having to do ICSI but this possibly accounts for low number of blastos .. sigh! Cannot make it up.

My EC was the opposite - was scheduled for Monday but ended up being the Friday before. Caused a lot of stress and havoc as we had no childcare but got there in the end.

Do not wear anything, not even deodorant for the EC. Best of luck!!!!

@LuckyFlash I was told to shower that morning. No soap. No deodorant. Nothing. Can damage the eggs. So I'd just go deodorant free. You can put it on after

@Cherryblossom90 That's great, means you've actually had more follicles than on your last scan, right? And 6 out of 7 mature! I hope they will all fertilise and continue developing 🤞🤞🤞

Hey @Cherryblossom90 wow that’s a great number fingers crossed you get a good number that make it to day 5/6. We had quite the scare today, i had a bad feeling when I arrived ant the clinic annd couldn’t shake it, and I was already a flag for OHSS. My EC went a bit wrong but I managed to get 13 eggs. I had a large internal bleed which they couldn’t stop so so lost a lot of blood. They couldn’t get my blood pressure to stabilise so i’ve only just been let out of the clinic. I’m on high alert for fainting or any symptom of feeling unwell i’ve to call an ambulance!!!!! I am doing ICSI and now my cycle is changed to freeze all I will find out tomorrow how many fertilise.

@Twittwoo2020 sorry to hear about the blood loss that must have been quite scary! But 13 is great number of eggs did they say how many matured?

Oh @LuckyFlash I'm sorry for the disappointment Re dates, it's the most frustrating thing isn't it! I'm so glad at lest for Saturday not Monday. What day of your cycle would Saturday be? My egg collection today was day 16 of my cycle but looks like it was the correct call becuase 6 out of 7 eggs were mature. I Know most people have EC earlier on in their cycle though around day 12 to 14.

@Cherryblossom90 ill be on day 15 of my cycle at EC. Just a slow but steady response. I know delaying it is the right decision and I’m happy now it’s booked for Sat. I‘be also been told to do a stim jab 3 hours before trigger for a last boost. Feeling really to burst!

@Twittwoo2020 that all sounds very stressful! It’s all so unpredictable isn’t it

not good for people like me who like to plan everything haha

@Whisper99 good luck with going abroad for treatment, I know a few people who are doing that/have done it and they do say it’s less stressful as you’re not still working during the treatment!

Well I took my first tablet an hour ago so I guess I can say I’m officially in treatment now!
